Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Dominus and Draco stood on a branch as the stars glistened in the night sky. The leaves rustle as the wind blew past them and buffeted their bodies. With this sensation, both, most especially Dominus seem to have recalled a few things as they both looked forward, blankly. This lasted for a few moments until Dominus let out a sigh and jumped down.

A white light began forming in the shape of an orb right above Dominus' left palm, who had opened a small portal, pulling out a jar like object, only that it had golden material decorating it. He proceeded to place the orb into the jar and closed it with a white, glowing crystalline lid.

Draco was eating a rock when Dominus found him a few meters away. Yes. He was eating a rock. He tapped Draco's tail and opened another small portal, well, space gate would be a better term for this one. He pulled out finely made longsword with red decorating it's hilt. This was something Dominus attempted to recreate using the memories of the soul he fused with. It came from an 'anime' as he recalled and his recreation wasn't quite perfect. The differences? First, it didn't have the distinct markings near it's tip. Next, the portion that opens didn't look the same and seemed more like dragon claws. Lastly, it's blade was silver white and had a long blue crystal as it's fuller, which it did not have in it's original design. In fact, it never had a fuller!

"It appears that the crystal's refinement is complete. Well, at least it appears that way." Dominus said to himself while inspecting the sword carefully. Draco perched himself up on his shoulder once more and spoke with his tiny, cute voice. "So, will the sword be perfect for her? It was originally intended for your niece and still is, right?" Dominus nodded and returned the sword back where it came from.

He grabbed the jar which had been placed beside him and started fading away into dust, travelling into the palace, right through it's protective barrier, undetected, traversing the corridors until they found their target. Slowly, they began to materialize in front of the two people present inside the very room they were also in.

............................

First, who had been been polishing his single edged greatsword sensed an abnormal flow in mana three feet before him. Rett, his bodyguard and butler seemed to have sensed it too and drew his crossguard hilt falchion. First then recognized the ever so familiar spell and waved at Rett to tell him to stand down, who in turn, complied.

Dominus, whose scarf was down finished forming and had a slight smile on his face. "You've grown old, First." First heard this and laughed. "Says the one older than me! Anyways, it's been quite a long time, old friend." Dominus slowly blinked as his smile grew slightly wider. "Hm, I guess it has, fifteen years, no?" Roland sheathed his now polished greatsword and his grin seemed to remind Dominus of when he still looked youthful unlike the wrinkly old man of the present.

"It was when my grandson was born, so, I doubt you've come to chat, Dominus. I know that you'd enter like a guest and not a thief if it wasn't important." Dominus put his arms behind his back. "Third has potential. An uncut diamond, if you may. He's intelligent, hardworking and has high ambitions, it's just that his temper, which seems to be asking for a results almost immediately, and that needs to be changed. If it is, then you should know just how much the boy could achieve." First nodded before realizing something. He called my grandson boy and not brat! "So... I wonder how he managed to gain your approval." Dominus smiled at this question and lowered his scarf as he paced around the room.

"It was when Lucio and the rest of the kids were preventing the invasion of the Mortifer Empire. Nadir's Empire. Not only did he risk his life to protect the beggars of the kingdom but he even protected the convicts which had lesser crimes. From what I saw, those wounds should leave a few scars and I know he saw the danger, yet in order to fulfill what you may call the duty of nobility and royalty, he needn't even think twice! He knows what his duty is and what parts need be accomplished by his role, the problem being that he DOESN'T think twice. He had time to consider a better way to proceed yet he just jumped into the fray. And that. That is a major flaw."

Third took a few moments to register what Dominus had just said before becoming suspicious. "Dominus, why and how do you know this?" Dominus shook his head lightly. "That much, matters not, now then, we're getting quite a bit off topic here, First. So, here's what I had come here for." He proceeded to pull out the jar-like object containing the orb from his cloak and showing it to them. Rett and First's eyes widened as the felt the great aura and power the orb was releasing. "So then, First, the question now is... Would you accept it?"
