Chapter 41 - Dark Mist (Part 2)

"Prime minister, as I have told you before, the temple that's being built is for the awakened priestess. I have made contact with her and she will be here in two days' time."

Jafnaor was taken aback, the awakened priestess was coming into his town?

"Miss Thea are you positive of this news?" asked Adi.

"Yes, and she has asked me if it was possible to hold a ceremony on the day the temple is completed to cleanse this town, as well as letting others know that she has been awoken. While I have been here, actually throughout all the lands, there have been many sightings of a dark mist coming out from the soil, silently infecting people. I have not seen it yet; however, I have heard the rumors around town, I believe the priestess will be coming for that. It will be such a grand scale event that it will be hard for anyone to not notice, I need you, as the prime minister of this land to inform the people who would like to get cleansed and purified from that mist, to gather in front of the temple."

Both Jafnaor and Adi sucked in a mouthful of air, then they looked at each other, nodding their head to an agreement.

"Actually Miss Thea, the rumors of the dark mist or whatever it may be, is true. That is how my son got injured in the first place. He had originally gone around town to check the spots where they have been sighted, but what we didn't expect were people hiding in the dark stopping anyone from spreading the news, albeit it's not so successful since the rumors are now going around, but they had almost killed my only son to hide it."

Jafnaor solemnly thought about the state his son was in when he was brought into the house.

"People hiding in the dark?"

"Yes, when I had the villages nearby evacuate and to spread the news, people came out of nowhere chasing after my team, killing two and leaving me injured," explained Adi, recounting the events of that day.

The atmosphere had grown silent and solemn.

"The priestess will come to town soon, although you can inform the people of the priestess's arrival, please take care of yourself as well, those people might come after you again," reminded Tria.

"Thank you, Miss Thea, for your concern, and for your courage as well. The Lands have been plagued by evil people everywhere and factions are going after innocent people. Building this temple will allow those people to stop searching and killing everyone. However, it is a risk for the priestess, my squad is at her service or protection if needed, or I can have stand guard outside the temple to protect the people."

"That sounds great, I will have to thank you in her stead. I will take my leave now, there are some things I will need to prepare as well," said Tria as she was heading out, but then was intercepted by Adi.

"Miss Thea, please allow me to escort you out," Adi politely offered.

Tria looked at him and nodded, then waved goodbye at the prime minister. Whom, after Tria and Adi, fell back on his chair thinking about the priestess's arrival and the changes that will bring to the Earth Land. There have been no activities occurring in the Earth land, the people there would always be cultivating plants and herbs, and some fruits that are only available here; as for visitors coming for anything major, there has been none. A temple built for the priestess here will bring major changes, it is bound to have many more visitors and people migrating here as well.

Jafnaor scratched his head thinking about how busy he is about to get, then he thought about his son. He did not listen to his warning and now he went to accompany Miss Thea, in the end, he brushed it off, because Tria is already married, and his chance had zero chance of overpowering her husband.

Meanwhile, Adi was walking aside Tria, leading her out.

"Miss Thea, I am really grateful to you for saving my life."

"It is no problem, as a doctor, that is my job."

"Yes, I am also grateful for you trusting my family."

"That's because you have such a genuine family."

"Yes, I wish you could have met my mother…I'm sorry, I'm just rambling."

"Oh no, you're fine."

"Yeah, I was also wondering if you had any tim-

"Senior sister!" Mexi shouted out of nowhere, she walked towards the two and stood next to Tria.

Mexi's arrival made Adi nervous, should he continue his sentence? Why is he feeling ashamed?

Adi felt his skin tingle all over.

"What is it Mexi?" asked Tria, even she was surprised to hear Mexi's shout.

"Senior sister, something is happening, we must go back," Mexi answered glancing at Adi's face.

"Oh alright, Adi I must leave now, please take care of your health," said Tria, then she walked away and got into her carriage along with Mexi.

As they rode away, Mexi glanced back again at Adi.

'Hmph! Just because Mistress won't let me you kill, it doesn't mean you can be so bold! She's already taken by my master! Okay?!' Mexi proudly pouted then silently sat next to Tria.

Tria was oblivious to all of that, even when she was talking to Adi, she was absent-minded. There is only two more day until the temple is finished, and there's a lot she must prepare. Also, if there are people hidden in the shadows intentionally letting the dark mist spread, she will have to deal with them as well. It was time to see the progress made by the others, she is going to have to speed things up.
