One guy was brave enough to follow their squad leader, he was the same guy that took the statement of the woman on the first case.
A passionate guy on his craft, he got very interested on the woman's story.
"Captain, how did she become your teacher?" he's careful with his words.
"Ask what you want." his leader keener than he thought.
"How can you fool those kids with that story. Isn't she a member of a gang that we're onto?" his squad leader chuckled.
"Agent Zero." The name made him stop thinking of anything else.
Agent Zero is the legendary founder of the current elite forces of the government. He's known to have placed full innovation on the agency that all success are still attributed to him.
Wait, isn't he a guy? And did he not die five years ago? That woman? Is he...she?
He could not even accept the thoughts that are entering his mind but his squad leader, Agent Bo, stopped him to it.
"She's the only student he accepted. Are you familiar with the jokes about Agent Maria?" he scrunched his nose, his squad leader is now definitely messing with him.
Agent Maria is the non-existent best agent of the elite forces. The first woman accepted on the job and far excelled everyone that came before her and even the other generations.
She's been made into a big name as she is always used to taunt agents who looked like they're ready to give up on their intensive trainings.
With such words of praises, everyone considered the Agent Maria as their model agent. But in the end, she was just a made-up joke for the agents to stop whining. She was created when the force was unable to maintain the number of it's members and new recruits are failing miserably.
"Now, you're planning to pull my leg, too." He made a 'tsk, tsk' sound then disappointedly left. So boss just made everything up?
"She's Agent Maria." he looked serious but he did not look sincere either.
The young officer gave up and did not push the matter anymore. He may give him more impossible answers if he keeps pushing onto this.
When he felt like the officer would not give him any more headache, Agent Bo took the call from his phone which has been steady lit up after he walked out of the room.
"Bo," he said.
"Where's Maria?" an old man's voice came from the other line. Agent Bo opened his mouth to speak but nothing was heard from their conversation.
Meanwhile, fifteen kilometers away...
Vroooom!!!
Only the sound of the woman's bike is heard. She wove through traffic but still careful not to cause any commotion anymore.
When she arrived at the next city, she book a hotel for half a day so she can get a nap.
It was around ten in the morning when she woke up. After a quick shower, she walked out of the hotel and drove off again.
She's next seen walking towards a big building, still carrying her sling bag.
Inside, an international bank branch has just opened and she quickly registered inside for some transaction. When she got out, half of the money she's carrying is now gone, she had it deposited on her account.
She took the stairs to the next floor and queued in line to claim her updated passport.
The day went on as normal as possible, applicants going in and out, clerks calling out numbers and some hysterical applicants demanding attention. Nothing out of ordinary.
The woman took her passport and walked out of the building, whistling as she walked towards her bike and sped away.
She next stopped at a fairly common apartment building. She shuffled for some keys on her bag and opened the room.
The contents of the room were fairly simple: a bed, a small kitchen with some utensils and a decent bathroom. Everything else looked plain.
Except that when she laid down on her bed and opened her eyes, a brief flash of light swept past her eyes before the bed moved, revealing a hidden room underneath.
She smacked her lips before she descended the stairs. The hidden room occupied at least five times the size of the room above.
Everything is at par with the current technology right now. An entertainment system, a security monitoring unit and even has a mini-armory.
She grabbed some water from the mini-bar as she cooked a pot of noodles. She topped it with two soft-boiled eggs, some carrots and cabbages then carried it to her entertainment room.
A little while more and the familiar music of Doraemon can be heard on the room. Looking onto the lady, she had her eyes closed, sleeping comfortably.
She woke up with a jerk when she felt a sharp pain on her lower abdomen. She curled her body and stayed on fetal position for a couple of minutes.
When she felt like she can handle the pain again, she stood up, walked to the bathroom and gasped.
She found only one sanitary pad on her stock, which mean she has to go out and buy a new stock. And it happened on the day she didn't want to move!
She grabbed some pain medication on the cabinet nearby, gulped some water and swallowed the tablet. After a quick change, she walked out from her upper room wearing white loose shorts, a black and blue plaid tank top and flip-flops.
She just left her keys inside and locked the door. She walked past a pot of a bonsai lemon tree. Looking closer, the pot has a lot of pins stuck on it.
There's a nearby shop two blocks away from her apartment. The time showed 09:13 at night when she entered. The shop owner stays on the counter which is situated near the door.
She walked around, looking for her target. She grabbed five packs, got some cup noodles as well and ordered some hotdog on stick to eat while she walks home.
She paused walking when she felt another pain on her lower abdomen. Ugh, menstrual cramps are more annoying than getting a gunshot wound, she thought.
When she turned to buy more pain medication, three burly guys held onto her and forcefully pulled her away from the area. She tried to escape their grasp but her stomach cramps are also too painful to handle so she got overpowered.
They found an empty place and tied her to a chair. Someone came and covered her face with a soaked towel. Her eyebrows furrowed when she realized what the drug was and struggled to break free.
Hehe, that will take a couple of minutes before you get me down. Chloroform doesn't work that fast, this is not a TV show, she smirked while still struggling.
But maybe it was just not her lucky day and after a few minutes of struggle, with her cramps intensifying and her body not fully rested, she began to waver and got herself enveloped in darkness.
