Busy tone. When the woman saw that the call could still not be answered, she ran one of her hands through her face and sighed in frustration.
It's been a day now, she thought. It's a good thing I asked for a vacation. She recalled her last conversation with her boss.
Twenty-four hours earlier...
"I want a vacation."
"Why?" his voice didn't sound like he's disagreeing but he didn't sound like he'll also agree.
"My job here will be over in a couple of weeks more but I haven't even gotten my vacation yet."
"Okay. Just make sure you give instruction on things that needed to be done." she turned to his current assitant.
"Give me a call if you need anything."
"Yeah," his new assistant nonchalantly replied. She suppressed a chuckle.
These two are not working as boss and employee. The boss sounded like the employee and this assitant is commanding like his boss.
I have found the best headache, she shook her head when they started arguing again.
These two clients are definitely spelling headache better than her previous assignments. One is a stubborn president while the other is a wayward nurse.
She closed the door when she left the room, no sense in staying there once they've started their war. When she closed the door, the nameplate clicked slightly against the door. Chryxso Aresta - President.
Airi's initial job is to look after the Lady Optina but another request has been made while she looks after the woman, to look after the grandson of the Master's house.
She stretched her arms and walked towards her own office, her feet itching to get off the stilettos that are five inches from the ground. Ugh, why are women wearing these?
She removed her tight bun and let loose her long curly hair. When she reached her office, she raised her left foot and started massaging it when one of the managers came in.
The poor guy was shocked he just mumbled unintelligible nonsense and walked away, feeling horrified.
She raised her head as he closed the door and saw her reflection, her mascara has already smudged from profused sweating as she massaged her foot. Adding to the heat on her face is her thick hair which gave her a gothic if not ghostly appearance.
It was obvious that the poor manager saw her as the later. I don't care. She walked towards her table, pulled out a pair of combat boots, put them on, changed into some comfortable clothes and walked towards the rooftop.
One part of their building has been fully covered with firewall and she took it to her advantage and use it as a wall-climbing proxy. If others wanted to go home from the ground floor, she definitely enjoys dropping from the roof.
After removing a little bit of harness that she had put on, she changed into a suit, put her helmet on and rode her motorbike. Nothing like the extremes could make her feel good.
It just took her a little over four hours to reach the city, something regular motorists can take for six to eight hours. She came here for a special occassion, to withdraw her earnings. Ah.
Money. Money. Money.
She rubbed her hands in excitement as she withdrew from a nearby ATM machine not caring of the increasing number of local gang members nearing her.
After carefully tucking it on her bag, she turned and counted around twenty of the young men looking dangerously at her.
She just shrugged her shoulders, kept her bag in front of her body and calmly walked towards her motorcycle. She's got somewhere else to go right now and fighting these twits will just delay her even further.
One of them whistled as he leered at her inspecting her body like some kind of an artifact. Such reaction would not be uncommon considering the fact that all the curves on her body fell on the right places.
"Hi lady. This is a dangerous place to be staying. Let us accompany you out of here and into safety."
"No thanks," she just smiled leisurely.
Duh. As if I'll let you sniff my money.
"Your bag may be too heavy, help us carry it for you." they changed tactics.
She annoyingly scratched the back of her head, opened her bag and grabbed some stack of money then went back the the young men.
She laid the paper-bills on one of the young men's hand and spoke.
"Get some hot soup. The weather is too cold." then she wink and continued walking away.
Pang!
She heard someone swing a metal bar on the pavement and walked towards her direction.
"You still don't know where you are Miss. This is our turf and nobody, nobody ever messes with us." she turned back with a smirk.
"I don't even want to mess with you. Let me go home now, I'm too tired to talk to you young ones."
Whatever she may have caused them to act riotus, she didn't know but they've obviously started attacking her.
She just swiftly jumped away from their attacks, further inciting their anger. She suddenly felt giddy, she didn't have much exercise in such a long time.
When she noticed that they're almost to the point of hitting her beloved bike, she immediately shrieked and tried to pacify them.
"No, not that. Let's see, I can't give you eveything but we can instead split the money." she tried to negotiate and started opening her bag.
No sooner than opening the zipper of her bag did she hear a piercing noise of a metal rubbing with another metal. When she saw the long line of scratch on her bike, her eyes saw red and she flipped.
Closing her bag once more, she walked towards the guy that scratched her baby and firmly gripped his hand.
"Which hand?" suddenly no one dared to attack her, her aura became menacing that they came to a halt and started being careful of their movements.
She noticed one of them bring out his phone and call for someone. Backup? If you hadn't hurt my baby, I would have just let you go away. She scoffed, go on and call.
"Which hand?" she softly asked while the rattled young man just chattered his teeth, unable to speak.
"Since you're not speaking, then I'll choose the hand." She moved and twisted his little finger as she spoke gently.
"Kid, you need to respect the properties of others so they respect your properties, too." she heard him scream in pain but she just continued and went on his second finger.
"Hands are supposed to be used for helping people so don't use it to steal from the innocent." What innocent are you talking about? He kept screaming and his gang members seemed to twitch in pain as well but no one dared move to help him.
When she came onto the last finger, she heard the wailing siren of the police car. Some of the young men rushed away to escape while others pretended like bystanders to check on the scene.
Some are just unlucky enough that they got caught but the young man felt the most relief when the cops arrive, as though a saviour has come to rescue him.
The cars screeched to a halt when they arrived. One of the cars opened and revealed the current captain of the squad.
When the woman saw the guy in uniform step out, she immediately let go of the poor young man's hand and waved her hands with glee, adopting a cute demeanor.
The gang members who witnessed her looked with horror while the squad captain's jaw dropped in shock when he saw the woman.
"Teacher!" he unconsciously spouted.
