She's really not feeling okay anymore. Where had her reason gone to? She looked suspiciously at her parents and tried to heighten her senses as she breathe rhythmically to steady herself. She opened her eyes wide and asked nervously.
"Is he here?" they just blinked at her.
She looked horrifying enough to be looked at and now she's even in a panic. Both parents exchanged gazes as if communicating how to take down a psychiatric patient in the midst of an attack.
"Is he behind me?" they stared back at her but they did not speak which she took as an assent. She wrinkled her face in mortification.
She kept pointing to herself and ultimately behind her when she heard some footsteps walking towards their kitchen. Her breathing became fast paced as her anxiety heightened.
Unable to contain her anxiety anymore, she grabbed a pitcher full of water and threw it to the person behind her as she shouted.
"No!" her parents reacted too late and was not able to prevent her from splattering the cold liquid to Handsome's mother.
"Aunt Dina!" she dropped her jaw in shock and just stared at the drenched lady who's looking ever shocked with the kind of reception she received.
Her father immediately grabbed some towel as her mother helped her dry up. She just blinked with her eyes wide open and groveled at her feet.
"I'm so sorry, Auntie! Kill me now!" Aunt Dina regained her composure now and let out a hearty laugh.
"So Handsome's assumption had been wrong this time," she smiled as she continued to dry herself up.
"Huh?" she raised her bowed head slightly and saw an amused look from the middle-aged lady.
"He said you'd be sick from the cut you had yesterday. Turns out you're even stronger than an elephant." she exclaimed. She winced and smiled awkwardly.
"Hey, I brought some soup over, it's a good thing I-" she conversed with her mother instead dismissing her on her grovelling.
That jerk! He manipulated her to work, left her alone to work and does not even want her to leave work!
He injured her, stole her first kiss, confused her parents, kept her from sleeping and now, he's putting her to shame in front of his own parents! How can she ever face them now! This is too embarassing!
She balled her fists and clenched her teeth.
"Auntie? Is Handsome home?" she inquired and Aunt Dina just gave her a light 'Yea' before she stormed out of their house.
She ran into his father carrying a pot of soup in his hands. She looked at him confusedly while he just smiled at her.
"Your Auntie forgot this," she momentarily forgot her anger.
"Let me help you with that." she tried to take the soup from him but he refused and instead walked towards their house, carrying the pot with him.
"It's okay, I can stretch my muscles this way," she just smiled at him. He looks like he's planning to stay over their house for breakfast and catch up with her parents. She sighed then focused her glare to their house, fire shooting from both her eyes.
When she turned back and saw their house, her anger came back. She furrowed her brows and knocked loudly at their door.
When she did not hear any answer, she turned the knob to find that it was left open and she took it as a sign to freely enter their house.
No entry does not apply with her so when she did not find him anywhere in the house, she aimed for the room he used to sleep on when he's still studying. When she tried to swivel the knob, she found that it was locked which confirmed her suspicion.
She banged loudly on the door and screamed his name.
"Handsome Theo Abello, open this door right now!" If she can't avenge herself today, she'll write her name backwards.
"What!" he roared back as he opened the door to his room and went back to his bed.
He's clutching his head in pain from possible hangover. She followed him inside and noticed that he's only wearing his pants which made her even angrier.
"Why are you not wearing clothes!" she shoved a pillow towards his body.
"This is my room and can you please shut up!" he shouted back as he took the pillow she threw.
Her earlier embarassment clouded whatever shame she's feeling from the current spectacle and so she managed to ask.
"Is it true?" she asked. Her voice loud and clear.
"What?" he lazily complained and just tried to lie down on his bed again. He pulled a blanket towards his body to cover himself.
"Is it true that you like me? Huh?" he stopped pulling on his pillow. He lifted his head from under the covers and glared at her.
He then stood up, dropping the blanket and pillow, and towered over her as he looked down and say.
"Are you crazy? No!" his eyebrows furrowed. Her matched him with her own furrowed brows as she realized she's been played at but what followed is a heartbreaking confession before she can even snap back.
"I have always loved you. I will. Am still." he scoffed at his own words and looked away, feeling embarassed from her lack of response but he still continued to speak anyway. Sweetheart blinked at him, wide-eyed. What's going on?
"Hopelessly. Crazily. Stupidly. Annoyingly. I love you." She held her breath and exhaled sharply.
Sweetheart just looked at him with pain in her eyes. So what about the times he hurt her? What about the moments he looked at her with disgust? And what about those times she thought she's the only one in love?
Did she just dream them all?
When she remembered all the days he's ignored her and the times he refused to even look at her, she doubted him.
"Don't play games with me! Take back what you said! Take back what you told my parents! Take it back!" she roared, the corners of her eyes turning red. How can he get back at her this way? This is foul.
He stared back at her in surprise and smiled helplessly.
"See? You won't believe me!" he shook his head.
"Because it's not true! Why are you making things complicated?" she wouldn't budge. This big chunk of a liar needed to be taught a lesson.
"Stop calling me big brother. If we are siblings, we can't marry each other. And why do you smile at my friends? You look so pretty, they may fall for you. Why can't I see you when I go home? Can't I just do those projects for you?" he started speaking.
Nonsense, what is he talking about? She tried to deny what she heard but he kept on talking. Is he still drunk? And why do I feel my heart beating so fast? Am I having a heart attack? Will I really die of anger?
"Why do you have to study in that university? I can't guard you from all the guys there. Why do you always work from one place to another? It's so hard for me just to catch a glimpse of you. Why are you always staying home where I can't see you? Can't you just live with me instead?"
"Stop!" she covered her ears. She looked at him in horror. No, this is not happening. No! He looked disappointed but just smiled.
"I love it most when you lie that we're fated. Makes me wish, we really are indeed." he kept talking.
"Shut up! Stop it!" she shouted louder. How dare you!
Her fists balled more furiously and she started walking towards him. With tears in her eyes, she forcibly yanked his body towards hers and buried a deep kiss on his lips.
