"Yuck, is that your saliva?" she tried to regain her composure. I can't be affected like this.
"I told you to be gentle cause I'm choking. You really have a murderous intent," since he's acting as if nothing happened, she decided to act cool as well. But his lips are so soft. Pervert! She decided not to even think anymore.
Mayu has not finished packing their things when Chryxso's driver, Glenn, arrived with his baby.
"Oh, you suddenly miss me? Wow, you're baby's so cute. What's her name?" Mayu looked on with awe at the tiny bundle on his arms.
"Chico." Glenn proudly said.
"Chikoo?" they simulateanously asked. Isn't that a fruit?
"Uh-huh," Glenn nodded as he cradled his daughter.
"Man, why did you name your daughter after a fruit?" Chryxso had his forehead on a knot.
"I agree, did you ran out of name ideas when she was born?" Mayu looked at him strangely. This guy has a bad sense of naming. Poor child. Glenn just laughed their inquiries away.
"This is not a laughing matter, Glenn. You'll make her mother sad," Chryxso expressed their thoughts.
"Chiza Collette."
"Huh?"
"Mara gave her that name," a mixture of sadness and joy can be seen on his eyes.
"Chico is her nickname. Not chikoo." Glenn cleared their thoughts before they can make any further accusations.
"Oh." he sat next to them.
"I asked my mother if I could bring her over. I'm more worried that you'll strangle each other to death." Glenn laughingly said.
"You don't trust us?" she flicked his forehead before she took the child from him. The baby wailed as soon as she held her.
"Leave the child alone Yumi. You may hex her." Chryxso remarked.
"I know how to tame kids. Come here baby, you hungry. I got food for you." but Chico's wails just got louder. Chryxso stiffled his laugher but she still caught it. She grimaced at she she looked at him, annoyed.
"And you're laughing because?"
"I did not laugh." Chryxso tried to compose himself before putting up a serious look on his face.
"Liar! Why, do you think you can do it? With your evil attitude, the child may suddenly stand on her feet and run away from you." she immediately put the child on his arms, startling him. He's a buddle of nerves as it would be his first time holding a baby and even more so that he's blind. What if something happens?
"Hey, take her back! She may slip-"
"Man, Chico is comfortable in your arms!" Glenned noted as his daughter immediately stopped wailing when he held her. There's suddenly a look of triumph in his face.
"See that?"
"One minute, you're afraid of kids then after awhile, somebody's boasting." she snooted.
"You just don't know how to handle babies. If I know, you may even be starting a fight with them,"
"I'm not like you," she stated but looked liked she was about to cry when she looks at Glenn accusingly. The poor father just raised his two hands in defeat and mouth, 'I did not do anything' which made her more glum.
"Of course you're not. Are you a guy?" Her gllomy look did not past a minute as his comment made her ready her hand to smack him but Chico cried again.
"I bet you're the one making her cry again. Chico, there, there honey. Don't mind the lady witch over there. She's just going through menopause." the baby suddenly dissolved into laughter, further dampening Mayu's mood. She look at Glenn with her eyes getting red, he kept his hands raised in surrender. She crossed her arms towards her body and pouted.
"It's a good thing I came back here else you would have turned the park into your battleground."
"You left me with a war freak bodyguard," Chryxso spoke while Chico is getting sleepy on his arms.
"Shut up!" she looked at him gloomily.
"Come take Chico, Glenn. I won't be able to play with her what with my own kid pouting around. She's especially not used to sharing my attention with others." Noting Mayu's dejected voice, Chryxso did not mock her any further but his next words still made her grind her teeth.
"Shut up!" she barked.
"I did not say it was you." he defended himself.
"I did not say it was me! I just want you to shut up!"
"Oww, my kid is jealous."
"Glenn, take Chico off of him so I can kill him now."
"You won't do that, Chico will cry." he teased.
"Duh, as if you're close to her."
"Are you?" she turned back to Glenn and pouted again. He just gave her an apologetic smile. She snooted again. I hate you Chryxso, you're so heartless. Your evil...
"Here." she felt him place the baby back to her who's now gone asleep. She held her with both hand for fear of letting it slip of their hold. He sat with an outstretched hand the moment she already had Chico on her arms.
"Whew. I did not realize it was that hard to look after a baby. You should compensate your mother. You're enslaving her with Chico."
"She's actually collecting her charges now. Which brings me to Chico collecting her early holiday pledges from you."
"Rascal!" both men laughed. Mayu flicked their noses in annoyance.
"Don't say bad words. Chico may hear you," both men continued laughing. Glenn's phone rang and after he answered the call, he took Chico from her and bid his goodbye.
"I'll be off for now. Mama just went somewhere so she let me take Chico today."
"I'm guessing she already arrived and is in a frenzy." Chryxso said.
"Well, she gave me a warning to return her granddaughter before I get my life utterly destroyed by her. I'll try to come back faster after I get her back home." they shared another round of laughter before Glenn eventually left them. She went went back to packing their stuff back on the basket.
"Hey."
"Hmmm."
"What's with that? I was just kidding earlier you know." Chryxso tried to explain himself.
"I know."
"Then why the sudden cold treatment."
"I did not pour you cold water." she replied.
"Why are you being difficult?" thinking she's stillad at him, he asked.
"I'm not an easy person either." she just answered back.
"You're pissed off." he noted
"I'm not."
"Yes you are." Mayu stopped packing their stuff and looked at him, clearly pissed off.
"I'm n-. Okay. I may be a little so shut up will you."She exhaled sharply.
"That was just a joke. Don't take all jokes seriously."
"And I already told you, I know."
"Then why does it sound like you're sulking?"
"I'm not sulking, I'm constipated." she waived his questions away.
"Oh? What? Really?"
"Stop annoying me, I'm feeling more irritated." and really pissed off. How can you make Chico be at peace in your arms arms when I, who's supposed to be trained for it, am just making her cry, she wanted to add but decided against it. She figured he'll just laugh at her if she said that. Glenn came back a few minutes more and helped her carry their stuff back to the car.
Her brother called to check on her that night...
"How are your feeling?" her voice sounded breezy that it seemed to cool her foul mood.
"Ugh. So-so." She lazily replied.
"Did you really leave the Aresta's?" he inquired. Mayu looked at her room and contemplated before she answered.
"Ugh, yeah. I would not be able to tolerate the old man's grandson."
He just gave her a 'Mmmm' sound while she heard him typing away.
"Are you still working?"
"Uh-huh,"
"It's late now," worry not hidden from her voice. He just smiled.
"It's okay."
"I miss home," she heard him sigh.
"Mmmm,"
"Are you sleepy?"
"No,"
"Don't hang up on me, let me know if you're going home so I'm assured." then she put her phone on speaker and placed it beside her pillow.
"Okay," Kristoff also put his phone on speaker and continued typing on his computer screen. After a few minutes, he can already hear her silent snore on the other line. He adjusted his spectacles and smiled. He did not bother hanging up even 'til the next day.
He's been like this whenever she's not staying home, this let's him check if she's still having her nightmares or not. Mayu has since rejected his offer to see a psychiatrist and insists that it was just a story she wrote.
