Harumi was now a week in the past. She felt like she already read hundreds of books, scrolls and other documents the library in the castle had. In reality she hadn't even read one percent of all the stuff. All tree of her maids where incredible. They where all so nice and even though she knew them for only a week, she already felt her heart acing at the thought that she had to leave them behind when she could finally go back to the future. Masa-kun had kind of the mother role. She gave Harumi a stern look whenever she didn't want to eat something because she didn't like it and had an answer to every question Harumi asked her. Masa-kun was the one who told her that she was the highest ranking person, expect for Nobunga of course, at the castle. The only one who could boss her around was her new husband, Nobunaga. And when he was away she was in theory responsible for the castle. In reality there were people whose duty it was to keep the castle running so Harumi didn't have to lift a finger in that regard. Lin-chan was like a cool best friend for Harumi. She helped her pick het outfits, had an incredible fashion sense and always knew the latest gossip. Which warlord had a new concubine, which made was accidentally nocked up out of wedlock and who fancied who. Rike-chan was like a little sister to Harumi. Although the sixteen year old worked had and was very diligent, Harumi couldn't shake the feeling of wanting to protect her. Pretty soon her maids found out Harumi wasn't their normal princess. For instance, Harumi refused to let them call her Hime. She also demanded that they eat together. Harumi only let them comb her hair, but she didn't want to hear anything about putting it in an intricate bun or letting her maids apply make up. Within the princesses quarters was a very mellow and easy going vibe what everybody found very pleasant. Another thing Harumi liked was that since her first night at the castle, she hadn't seen Nobunaga even once. When she was buzzy with research, chatting or playing games with her maids she could almost forget she was married to such a cruel man.
With a stack of books Harumi walked trough a hallway that lead to the library. She pretty much knew were most things were but probably still didn't know the fastest way to get there. She didn't really mind though. She liked the short walk to and fro the library. Sometimes some of the hallways she passed were crowded so she could talk to some people. This time around Harumi saw Mitsuhide walking in the hallway. He was accompanied by a lady. Although the castle was big and there were a lot of people. Harumi barely saw any women who didn't work at the castle in the castle. The woman wore a flashy kimono made from red silk. The kimono wasn't fastened regularly so the kimono had a deep and plunging neckline. Half of the woman's boobs hung out of her dress. Every time the woman took a step the high split in the kimono revealed a long and slim leg. She had her hair in an impossible bun of a few dozen ornaments in it. The heavily applied make up looked caky on her face while she had a bored and disgusted look on her face. The woman had an air around her as if she felt she was better than anybody else.
When Mitsuhide and the woman where closer Mitsuhide bowed for her. The woman followed reluctantly. Harumi didn't know what it was with Mitsuhide, but she always got the jitters when she was near him. She knew for a fact that she had heard his name in history class before but couldn't remember the context. She bowed her head lightly while she put on a fake smile on her face.
"What a lovely companion do you have." Harumi said.
"This is Lady Gehin." Mitsuhide introduced the woman. Gehin gave Harumi a once over and snorted just loud enough for Harumi to hear. She already didn't like this person.
"Well, I wish you both my happy wishes and that you will be together for a long time." Harumi said while trying to sound as sincere as possible. She couldn't help it some sarcasm slipped trough the cracks.
"Oh no!" Mitsuhide answered quickly. "This is a gift from me to the great daimyo Oda Nobunaga." Harumi's eyes almost popped out of her head. Did she hear this correctly? Did this guy seriously bring a woman to the castle to give to Nobunaga while he just got married a few days ago? Well, she couldn't blame Nobunaga exactly. He was a guy after all and with no internet or anything fun to do he would of course get bored. She was just happy he didn't force her to do any of the nasty. So what that one of his most trusted generals gifted him a whore. Harumi tried to rationalize with herself but she couldn't stop the feeling she had in her chest. It felt like someone kept stabbing her with a needle over and over.
"Oh, my mistake." She finally said. "Well, good luck with that then..." Before Mitsuhide could respond she walked past the two to the library to gather a new stack of books.
