Chapter 26 - Ancient Might.

Unseen to the naked eye the darkness engulfed the room and dreadful coldness overtook the area. Light, sound and even time itself seemed to had lost meaning inside the darkness as everything besides Myla's body seemed to had been forbbiden of entering.

Unnoticed, in the darkness, two row of black eyes were fixed in Myla's body, or rather, in the feeble glimering soul inside of her body. Those eyes were the messenger and if a mortal got to see them would understand instantly the message 'Death has come to you'.

Hellhounds were they called, one of the older races in Hell, their origins 'unkown', and any member of their race were hardly seen but everytime a mortal died out in Hell or any realm related to Hell a Hellhound would be there to bring the mortal's soul back to the first layer of hell, where it should be 'cleaned' before moving to next life.

Mortal, were call everyone who didn't attain inmortaly or godhood but the range was wide and such in the limit to inmortality there were powerful mortal beings and as the Hellhounds were in charge to reclaim the soul of such beings too one could guess their power. Furthermore, even when they weren't Reapers they were still messengers of Death.

When the Hellhound was about to take a step forward another figure appeared beside Myla's body, it was also blended perfectly with the darkness around and if not for his red eyes it would be hard to tell he was there.

"She is staying". Said softly the figure but with and imposing tone, his voice was very different from that of Habib's just moment before and was again the ancient voice.

"I am afraid that wouldn't be possible". Said the Hellhound.

"She is staying". Replied once again the ancient voice.

Then a light flew out of Myla's body to the front of his face, and even when the darkness didn't allowed to seen his face, for sure there was a soft smile in his lips.

With a gesture as caressing the light in front, a blue ball covered Myla's soul, the figure looked at the blue ball, as if he could clearly seen Myla's soul inside, for a short moment before the it flew inside his Soul Realm. Next the darkness engulfed Myla's body disappearing completely from this place and even from the sight in reality.

All of Akin actions didn't even took a moment, and the Hellhound was still about to move and finish its job when the ancient voice was heard once again.

"She is staying". The voice repeated the third time.

"Crumble".

With a word which seemed like an order given to noone but to reality itself, the dark space trembled violently before disappearing along with the furious Hellhound.Never before he was challenged this way, but after living for so many years, and even if he was still a youngster, someone who could make the dark space dissapear with one word wasn't a person to be messed with. It was for better let the matter go, after all it was just a weakling mortal soul.

As the dark space disappeared, walking sounds could be heard coming from the corridor and the metallic sound of the door being pushed open further sounded next. Soon the room was filled with

twenty or so men covered in heavy armor whom were forming a human wall in front of the door.

In front of the armored men there was a middle age man, with no remarkable features in his body, wearing a black cassock with a purple sash and cap, a crosier in his left hand and an old book in his right hand, which was also decorated with a beautiful ring, resting over his chest.

Both parties looked at each other, tens of eyes in one side against just a couple in the other, 'Terrifying' they all thought looking to those red eyes, even though noone was shaked even the slighty after all they are were faith soldier unless their faith shaked their body wouldn't either.

"Very daring of you demon to enter the dwell of the Lord, you aren't welcome here but since you had come then you may as well stay forever". Said the abbot before pointing his crosier to the demon infront , "Light Arrows".

With the radiance of the crosier tens of arrow made of light formed instantly in front of the abbot and were shoot to the demon in front to great speed. The sound of stone cracking followed next as the arrows impacted the wall, showing the might of the spell. With an incredible speed and covering a huge range once shooted was almost impossible not being hit by the arrows.

"Dark Arrows".

"Light Shield".

One voice sounded right away after the other from different parts of the room, and the stones cracking sound continued but this time also accompanied with a metallic screech and something that sounded as water being splashed over stone.

The first round ended, with half of the humans being massacred and the demon unwounded, ten or so human bodies were now laying in the floor, blood coming out of holes all over their body. Altough the might of just that one power took everyone by surprise there wasn't time for shock as the demon was already between their files.

With a casual punch one of the armored guards was sent flying against the wall, just the punch made an incredible dent in the armor which lost its form after colliding. Everything happened so fast that nobody see it, much less the moment when the demon took the guard's sword.

What followed next was blood and severed body part everywhere, every time the demon draw the sword a life would end or, at the very least, a part of a body would gone missing but those had a better ending than those hits by the demon itself as the black flames would comsume their body without leaving nothing behind.

As seasoned as the abbot was, he quickly understood after the first round the disparity between them and the demon, even when was aimed to kill it can be said that his first action was also a way of scouting the enemy strength, and a enemy that could survive unscattered to such power was beyond what they could handle.

Worst of all most of the Holy Army was in the front line, so the garrison here was small as this was but a small town and didn't held that much importance to their enemy, otherwise if they counted with a team of true paladins, or another high cleric member as himself this would had been another history.

And when he wanted to be a bishop, he couldn't put his life and even less that of his congregration or the innocents out there in the line just because of greed. As such as soon as the demon used made its first move, he used a protective barrier and started chanting.

The chanting sounded like a pray, and literally it was, book open in front of him kneeling in the ground, both hands toguether the abbot continued muterring, without even bothering by the onslaught around him as every moment counted.

From the beggining of his chant his ring as the book on the floor started emitting a golden radiance that grew with time, expanden more and more. When Akin finished killing the armored guards, the abbot couldn't been seen inside the light sphere as only a golden light was there.

With a flash movement Akin kicked the light ball sending it flying, cracks appeared around the sphere and completely shattered mid air but radiance only grew until it suddenly filled the entire room.

As the light diminished the outline of a person was seen mid air, a person with wings in its back.
