Chapter 26 - Easy [Naomi]

I looked at Akumura, "What's going on?" He shrugged. "Well, aren't we next?" He nodded. "Alright. Try not to do that thing again."

"It was a situational ability. I can't control it." I sighed, "Well, might be good to learn how to."

We walked on the concrete. Akumura slipped his jacket off, and put on his brass knuckles. "Why do you use those of all things? They barely do any damage here."

"I'm used to them." I shook my head and pulled my sword. "How quick do you think this one'll go?"

"30 seconds tops." I nodded, and looked at our opponents.

They were taller and more muscular than most people, each one dressed in altered school uniforms. One had a coat with chain on the collar, one had it unbuttoned halfway down and the worst pompadour haircut I've ever seen, and the last one had the same clothing style as the second, but with a pink jacket instead of a blue one, and blue ladybugs on the side. "3! 2! 1! Go!" They each shot in different directions, quicker than any normal person could see. Luckily, Akumura and I weren't people. I looked directly at the one in the pink uniform, and ran toward him. I cut his leg, and he fell to the ground. He tried to get up, but when he did I kicked him back down. "I'd suggest just staying down." I thrusted the blade into his arm, and he passed out. "Giorno Kujo, eliminated!"

"Josuke Giovanna, eliminated!" We both looked at the last person. He stood there completely calm. I felt something hit me in the face. I flew backward and hit my head on the glass. I felt around the back of my head, and sure enough, my skull was pushed in. "Wonderful." I looked at him, and saw a figure projected behind him. "Is that a Stand?" He looked at me. "A what?" The being behind him looked exactly like Star Platinum, except it had red and yellow skin instead of blue and purple. Akumura ran toward him, completely disregarding the whole pervious sequence of events. "Naomi, go for him! I'll take care of the ghost!"

Despite Akumura's astounding speed, he could barely keep up with the projection. I slowly stood up, and shot myself toward him. "Mudada." I put my hand on him, and concentrated on a single finger. I felt all the energy leave my body, focusing on that single point. I twitched my finger, and he flew across the arena. He laid there for three seconds, before a voice boomed across the stadium, "Jotaro Higashikata, eliminated!" Akumura and I walked back into the locker room.

"When do you think we'll get an actual challenge," I put my sweatshirt back on, "Like, more than that JoJo wannabe over there, a real fight." Akumura shrugged, "Probably tomorrow. At that point it'll be duos, so they're going to be stronger." I sat on a bench, "That reminds me. Which one of us is going to the finals."

"You know we aren't guaranteed that."

"Aren't we though? All the matches we've been in have been in have ended in less than 30 seconds."

"Yeah, but that's just two. How can you be sure the next ones are going to be as easy?"

"I dunno, I just, do."

"If you're so sure, I guess we'll just have to see who does best in the next round." I lowered my head, "Alright."

We sat next to Bill and the others. "So, what was that whole episode about?"

"Some, less than favorable psychic abilities." Scorpio sounded pretty annoyed at the whole situation, "I really wish I hadn't fallen for their shit." She rested her head on her hand. "So, who are you two sending to the next round?"

"Me and Scorpio," Bill was clearly excited, "Jamie said she wasn't down to fight for a while. Something about needing to find answers."

"Speaking of," Akumura looked around, "Where'd Jamie go?" Brit shrugged, "When Bill and Scorpio got up here they said after they left the locker room she just up and disappeared."

"But, isn't being here mandatory?"

"Not unless a teacher says you don't have to."

The next fight was who we'd be fighting next. Another pair, instead of group of three. They were wearing all white, except for the bandannas they had wrapped around their faces, which were pitch black. "Are they?"

"Former members of the Black Hoops," Bill answered before I could finish, "It's a ritual in the gang to wear all white except for a bandanna if you leave. Most people do it out of fear. It's said the boss recognizes everyone, and if he doesn't see them wearing that, he kills them on the spot." I shuddered, "What kind of person would do that?"

"I'd say someone who started a gang." We all sat and watched. They were as fast, if not, faster, than I was. Even with my enhanced vision, I couldn't keep up with their movements. "Do you think they're vampires too?" Brit shook her head, "I doubt it. You clearly haven't looked at your skin recently. They're far too tanned."

"Well, what are they then?"

"Either extremely strong humans, or fairies."

"Fairies?"

"Do I have to exposit everything here? Fairies are a race similar to Vampires in the sense that they were created by one of the original two races, in the fairies' case, Angels, to be their direct emissaries on Earth. If you didn't know, I'm actually a fairy."

"Hans Jaeger, eliminated!" The two were still in, "Klaus Veil, eliminated!" Two to one. Both fairies stood. "Patrick Rolf, eliminated!"

"Jeez, how quick was that?"

"34 seconds," the corner of Akumura's mouth started raising, "Looks like we have some actual competition."
