"Hmmm… where am I?"
Looking around I noticed that I was in what seemed to be a sea of clouds.
"Well, this is weird."
Scratching my head I try to make sense of what is happening. Suddenly it struck me.
"I WAS HIT BY TRUCK-KUN!"
Feeling a slight headache creeping up on me I started to massage my temples. Being an advent web novel connoisseur I, of course, know of his existence. What's weird is that I swear that I looked both ways and I'm positive there was no traffic at all.
"If this goes along with cliches then wouldn't this mean I would end up in another world....? Nope don't want it. Going to another world seems like it would be fun, but what if I end up having a trash ability, or end up transmigrating into some trash young master that has so many problems that I'm forced to inherit? I'd rather just die than do all that work."
As I was daydreaming about being chased down by a group of experts a voice interrupted me.
"Well, you're already dead and don't really have control of what happens from now on."
"Who in the f*ck?"
Whipping my head around in panic I see what seems to be a five-year-old toddler just floating a few meters off the ground laying back with its arms crossed behind its head.
"I am your God"
Suddenly hearing a voice I couldn't call masculine or feminine inside of my head, I started giving the floating baby a blank stare. It took me a moment to process what it had just said to me.
"So you're telling me a toddler wearing a cardboard crown and onesie is 'God'?"
"To be exact, YOUR God is a toddler, as in the person currently in charge of your next life."
Hearing its reply I try not to think about the fact that what seems to be a child is going to be in charge of my new lif-
"WAIT! What do you mean 'your next life'? So I'm really dead?"
Seeing 'God' giving me a look as if saying 'I thought you already figured that out earlier.'
I looked up towards the pure white clouds above me and couldn't help but accept this new reality. I know I should be doubting what this baby is saying, but something deep inside me is telling me that what it is saying is the truth. I had always felt like death was always close by for years now and could never shake that feeling off.
*sigh*
Turning back towards the entity in charge of my next life I noticed them reading a book. Looking at the title read 'How to be a God for Noobs' I chose not to acknowledge it.
"So 'God' you said that you are going to be in charge of my rebirth right? So like what if I don't want to be reborn, or is there a guarantee that I won't be at a disadvantage?"
Seeming to be slightly surprised by my response it began to explain after quickly putting away its book into a vortex that magically appeared.
" Ahem, well like I said before you're dead. (Killed by one of my servants but you don't need to know that) And because of various reasons, you will be moved to a different universe with a random ability, perk, or physique."
So it's what I thought huh, so cliche. Giving 'God' a somewhat pleading look I asked it.
"So is it possible for me not to have any of that rebirth you're giving out and just, you know, DIE?"
"Well, I guess I could send you to hell where you would burn for all eternity."
Saying this with an innocent grin of a child, I could not help but shudder as it gave me what seems to be my only other option. Waving my hands in a panic I try to make an excuse.
"Ha ha..It was a joke. Going to another world has always been my dream."
Cold sweat ran down my back. 'I can't believe this sh*t. This fool said either go to another world or Hell. Of course, I'm going to another world. But now that I think about it, I could end up in a world worse than Hell.'
While I was mentally complaining, 'God' waved its chubby hand and a wheel as big as a two-story house appeared. Looking at this gold-encrusted wheel, I stepped back a bit to get a better look. Now being able to see the whole thing in all its glory I noticed It was a roulette with names of different abilities, races, weapons, and physiques. I even recognized some of them like System, Dragon Slayer Magic, Pure Yang Physique, Masamune, and so many more.
Seeing me examine the massive roulette 'God' floated around me while explaining its purpose.
"As I said before you will be getting a random perk so that in your new world you won't have a problem like having no talent at all. You've probably also noticed that many of the perks are from various things in your world. I've done this for the sake of familiarity so you won't have to struggle to try to figure out some 'mysterious power'."
It seemed to say that last bit with contempt.
"Just remember these are just perks you will have going into your new universe, which means you will be able to train in whatever else you find in your new universe or evolve the perk you get further if you find a way."
Listening to everything it told me reassured me ability-wise at least. 'As long as I pull something worthwhile that is.' Breathing a sigh of relief I decided to spin and get it over with before anxiety crept up on me.
Crossing my fingers I used as much strength that I could muster.
'Gimme something good. The power of max stats or maybe something like the power to kill anybody with a look, oh-oh maybe super plot armor.' As I watched the wheel coming to a stop I couldn't help but curse my luck.
"F*****CK"
The wheel actually stopped on nothing. It's literally a blank. Did I use up all my luck on all the gachas I played before I died?
While I was wallowing in despair 'God' had a shocked expression. "I never thought I would see the day someone managed to roll a blank. You must have had a good amount of karma to get a double spin."
I suddenly paused. Looking at them like an idiot. I asked them what is that supposed to mean, not trying to get my own hopes up.
"It means you are allowed to spin two more times which will allow you to start with two perks rather than one."
"Oh thank God!"
"You're very welcome"
Looking at 'God' with some irritation I spun for the second time. Knowing that wishing for something when it's rng won't help I watched as the wheel slowing stopped on:
◦ Dao of Life: A deep understanding of nature and it's various energies. Those that have comprehended this Dao have an innate ability to sense and manipulated different energies in nature. It also gives them an aura that brings positive energy to those around them.
◦+10% to natural healing/recovery [Mental/Physical]
◦Immune to diseases and gives resistance to curses
◦Able to sense 'life' around you
Looking at the first perk I got it seems like it will be quite useful depending on the world I end up in. Plus if I remember right getting even a tiny amount of insight into a Dao should take years of living a certain if not decades.
After taking a moment thinking about how useful my first perk should be I started my final spin. This time around I could feel some anxiety build up inside me as I watched the wheel spin for what seemed like an eternity.
As it slowly came to a stop I couldn't control my excitement.
"Yes let's GO! I got a Saiyan race! DBZ is one of my all-time favorite animes!"
Doing a little dance with a smile I looked at the description:
◦ Ancient Saiyan Bloodline: A race known for their fighting ability, thirst for battle and monkey-like tail. Ancient Saiyans are different from their modern counterpart because of their source of energy and general appearance. They have the same amount of strength starting off but have far more potential than the average Saiyan. Another difference is their personalities are far more varied which can be very aggressive to very kind.
◦Great Ape Form (sealed)
◦Zenkai Boost
◦Limitless potential and combat sense
◦High affinity with various energies
'Hmm seems like I didn't get the regular Saiyan bloodline. Since its the Ancient Saiyans I wonder if I will have access to their unique transformations as well? Plus my great ape form is sealed. Even though that is slightly annoying atleast I don't have to worry about the full moon since that would be mad annoying.'
As I was going over the things I remembered about the ancient saiyans 'God' started talking again.
"Now that you have your perks we can finally get you to your new universe"
"But what kind of world is it?"
"Ah, I almost forgot to tell you. Well, the planet you will be going to is called Enorm. To put it simply It is what you would call a fantasy world with cultivation elements. There is only one major continent and different sized islands scattered around it. It's pretty much what you would expect from a cultivation world, a place ruled by the strong, so I would advise you to gain power quickly! However, don't expect everything to play out the same since society is structure more fantasy-like."
Looking at this toddler of a 'God' explain the world with such vigor makes me actually look forward to it. I know that I was complaining before about going, but as someone that felt like life on Earth was not bringing me anywhere and the different possibilities this new world has and the prospect of exploring a world without something holding me back is starting to make me want to go. The only thing I will miss from my past life is my family…
"So now that you have all the information you need I'll be sending you off. I can't have you staying in between worlds for too long."
Before I can ask it more questions my vision faded to nothing.
