Chapter 3 - Captured

I woke up feeling refreshed. I checked my stats.

Fatigue: 1%

I have not even done anything since waking up and I already am piling up that fatigue percentage. I do wonder if I can go over 100% fatigue or not. In the original game, you don't get experience when it was maxed out. I have a feeling that this fatigue is more mental than anything though.

*Ding* Quest: "Mental Fatigue" added to quest book.

I Checked out my quests

Quests:

"Killing Gods for the void"

"Mental Fatigue"

I focused on the newly added quest, 'Mental Fatigue'.

Quest: Mental Fatigue

- Fatigue is a mix of mental and physical stress applied on the body.

- You Need to exhaust your body to separate the two types of stress.

- Gain 80% Fatigue with only physical activities (0/20)

- Gain 80% Fatigue with only mental activities (0/20)

- Reward: Upgrade to separate the two types of fatigues.

I am speechless. It was obvious that this quest was added to my quest book when I made the discovery with the interface. I don't think this is a quest I'll be able to complete any time soon. I can burn 20% fatigue just thinking about miscellaneous things. I checked my fatigue and it has only increased to 4%. I was going to guess that from all this thinking and checking things out, It would have reached at the minimum 10%. I think the wisdom stat decreases the rate the fatigue stat decreases when doing mentally fatiguing tasks. This is a boon, but this only increases the difficulty of the quest honestly.

*Ding* Quest: "Protect your family" added to quest book.

I was shocked when I saw this announcement. I quickly checked out the quest.

Quest: Protect your family

- Your location has been compromised. Your mother is a key asset to your survival.

- Convince your mother of impending doom (0/1)

- Escape with family (0/9)

Reward: 1-Not captured, 2-Mother bonds to you, 3+Surviving siblings will recognize you as a leader

- Failure: Loss of freedom

This quest looks very scary, I don't even know how to convince anyone of the impeding danger. I moved my body as quickly as possible to my mother's face. I bit her nose, waking her up. Growling and stomping around the best I could do. She ends up kicking me into the wall. All I could feel is pain and feel the warm blood leaking out of my body. I don't think I could have escaped with this body anyways. The depression hit me like a ton of bricks. I passed out from the shock.

I woke up in the dark room.

*Ding* Quest: "Protect your family" has been renamed "Rescue your family".

*Ding* Quest: "Rescue your family" has failed.

I just stared at the two new notifications. I eventually checked my quest tab.

Quests:

"Killing Gods for the void"

"Mental Fatigue"

Failed Quests: "Rescue your family"

I focused on the failed quest.

Quest: Rescue your family

- While playing dead, your family was captured by humans.

- Your mother is a key asset to your survival.

- Rescue your mother (0/1), your mother is dead (1/1)

- Rescue your siblings (0/7), your siblings have died (7/7)

- Escape (1/9)

Reward: 1-Not captured, 2-Mother bonds to you, 3+Surviving siblings will recognize you as a leader

Failure: Loss of freedom

- Failure: Loss of important survival asset

I can't believe what has happened. I am hungry and thirsty. I end up unknowingly walking to the pool of blood. I just stare at the blood. Didn't I try to warn that mother rabbit? It's not like I had to save her, but she just kicks me instead. My thoughts turn for the worst as the dark thoughts creep into my head. Maybe it's what the creature deserves for kicking me. However, I now don't have a food source. I then check my stats.

Stats:

Strength: (0.2/1.2)/5

Vitality: (0.1/1.4)/5

Dexterity: (0.2/0.2)/5

Agility: (0.3/0.3)/5

Intelligence: (0.4/1.5)/5

Wisdom: (0.1/0.4)/5

Luck: ?/?/?

Fatigue: 97%

I have not really paid attention to the fatigue, but now that I think about it... I am hungry, thirsty, and tired. I wish the quest gave a better method of escaping in the first place, but I am a little thankful I guess. Without the quest, I would have been captured. If my mother didn't almost kill me, I would have probably have died like the rest. Maybe, I feel a little guilty, what If instead of biting her nose while she was sleeping, I had awoken the others and had everyone growl to wake her up? I did panic, but... It's not my fault, and I survived. I did the best I could after all.

Feeling very tired, I just went back to sleep.
