Chereads / The evolution of the Rabbit God / Chapter 6 - New home

Chapter 6 - New home

I Think I have been a very bad rabbit the last few days. Indulging in addicting substances. I have been very lazy. New rule to self, if it says addictive, moderation will be the key to survival. However, I do think those have been the best days of my life as a rabbit. I need to stick to my plans when I make them.

I check my stats and all my quests. My stats have a major jump, and reach the cap for vitality. I have only made progress with the mental fatigue quest and herbalism with that mushroom I found. I didn't think that drugs would place such a mental stress onto my fatigue, but I guess that makes sense. I do want to know how to increase the cap to my stats. I should be able to evolve or something, and I hope it is not because I am still an infant or some bullshit.

It was time to work on my new home. I will say it was unfortunate, but that agility bonus I had was wasted. If I had moved around the previous days, I would have probably already reached the cap, but that is only a few days wasted I guess. I am still living, so no harm done.

I am proudly walking, more like striding with pride, looking for something I could eat. I did find some small dried out bones that looked like it belonged to a squirrel previously. I then had a great thought. Can I gain a prayer skill if I bury the bones like in the game? I have the interface after all, and had already have the skill herbalism in the works. I carried the bones one at a time in my mouth to where the roots had been previously. After covering the bones I had moved one at a time with dirt as to bury them, I heard the sound I was hoping to hear.

*Ding* Quest: "Divinity" added to quest book.

Quest: Divinity

- When you mourn the dead, they pay tribute for divinity.

- The tribute for divinity can be used for one self or given to a divine being.

- Collect divine essence (0.2/100)

- Reward: The skill Divinity will be added to status.

Note: Divinity is the act of praying to oneself instead of others.

I am very pleased with this turn of events. I decided it was time to work on my house and to stop procrastinating. Digging out a den is very complicated. Makes me wonder how that long tunnel was made at my old house.

I've done some exploring when bored of digging the den.

By day three, the den was complete. The escape exit would have been very difficult if I tried to dig it from the inside to outside. I cheated and started from the outside to expedite the movement of dirt, else I would have had to move the dirt an extra 5 feet through my own den to get it out of the way while digging.

*Ding* Quest: "A new home" has been completed.

I had felt very refreshed finishing this den. I was surprised by the amount of rewards this quest gave, even if some of the rewards was disabled.

I thought about what my next goal was going to be. I don't really need to place the Mental Fatigue quest into my mind, as that was a done deal. I would get that quest finished at some point. Herbalism was also a quest that would eventually be finished at some point too. I do not need to explicitly look for herbs. What was on my agenda was looking for more bones. Remember about the types of bones, I wonder if normal creatures and monsters make a difference between the amount of progress with my quest. Also, what is the difference between monsters and normal creatures? I do wonder if I will be able to turn into a monster or remain a normal creature. Also, will anything special happen when I max all my stats? There were many questions I had. Dexterity was the lowest skill I had, but I think I can get some practice in burying those bones. I do not think there is any other activity that I can do that requires dexterous finesse to accomplish.

I had been treading through the local area to the best of my ability. I think I hear a nearby noise, and I instantly bolt to the closest bush to hide under. What I see scares the shit out of me. It is a large cat. Holly mother saint Jesus balls.

I just stare at the cat that just so leisurely walks through the area, passes my bush, and then turns their head in my direction to just stare at the bush I am in. It was at that point where I thought, I gone and committed the most heinous of crimes in my previous life. I know cats like to play with their food before ending their life. However, as if saint Mother Teresa herself forgave and pardoned me, the cat ignored me to just keep on walking. Praise lord fifth, I had gained eternal life!

I did not dare to even move and kept my breath quiet and calm. When I saw that cat walking back a minute later, stopping by my bush again on the opposite side... I felt like this time, my life was going to end. Please do not be gentle and end my life as quickly as possible. Mother, father... It was at this point I felt like this large cat was sneering at me, like it was not worth their time to kill me. I was not even agree, please mighty being, do not notice this peasant.

When the cat started walking again, I thought it was over; but I was wrong. The cat turned around to pounce where I was hiding and pulled me out with a simple swipe of it's paw. I knew it, I was going to be played with before death. It carried me in it's mouth... I really thought I was just going to be eaten without being chewed alive. I do not want to survive going through it's stomach and just die. You know, being pooped out of another animal is one of those things that will scar you for life. At some point the cat spit me out onto the ground after breaking my rear legs. I was alone now. I think it probably had it's fun and left me for real this time. I do not know if I can escape, but I think I can with the way point of home. Mother, father, where ever you are, I had escaped this tribulation. Then I recalled, I never did set a point of interest at my den...

I was not bleeding to death, and I can not stay here sulking for my little pee life here wallowing in grief. I saw that the large cat went into a large cave, and that there is a smaller cave that is too small for that large cat to enter. I dragged myself to that cave entrance. I only wish that large cat dies in the most painful of ways. Maybe falling in lava or getting hit by a meteorite and then somehow surviving with broken limbs.

The inside of the cave was larger than I thought it was going to be. I got to a ledge where a good size boulder was. Gloom and anger was the only thing in my mind. Down below I could see a small child size cat sleeping and doing it's own thing. I also had already mentally noted that there is a boulder right next to this ledge. I think if this rock which is boulder size compared to my size lands on that cat, I can kill that cat.

I can kill that large cat's child, it is only fair. My two rear legs are hurting. The death and removal of an entire species needs to be done. I pushed with all my might. The boulder did not move or shake. I removed some dirt from the front side of the boulder, being careful not to push any of that dirt off the ledge and alerting the sleeping cat. I do not think I will be able to remove anymore of the dirt without alerting that cat. I do not know how I am going to push this boulder off the ledge. I ended up climbing the boulder and laying right on the top of the boulder. It was then that I found out that today was not my day. An earthquake was not something I thought was possible. The boulder starts to roll off the ledge and landed on that child cat while I fell off the boulder and almost got ran over by it myself. The boulder kept rolling after it crushed the cat. I was next to the cat while it was pathetically whining and wincing with pain.

I wonder if this cat tastes good or not. I know rabbits are not carnivores or omnivores, but who is to say whether or not I am a monster.

I started to chew on the still living cat. And then it hit me, quite literately. That dying cat scratched me with it's nails. I was not able to chew it's thick skin, too hard. I then aimed for it's eyes. I managed to gore out one of it's eyes, but I think I am bleeding quite badly. The cat is bleeding quite badly themselves too. I want to get that other eyes as well, it's a habit of mine, and it is bothering me that the cat still has one eye left. Everything needs to be symmetrical. It's not an OCD problem, it's just a matter of principles and preferences.

I jump at the cat to rip it's other eye out. After accomplishing what I set out to, I am even more badly damaged, but the cat stopped struggling. It's almost like the cat is resigning to it's fate. I do not believe in fate, I remember that god even said that my fate is controlled by karma. What bullshit is that? Have I ever been cruel to one before? The answer is no, but apparently the cat lost big this time... I killed their child... Ha, bitch ass cunt will die soon enough. Didn't I already make that promise to wipe out their entire cat race? That is two races so far, cats and humans.

Looking back at that cat, anger still boiling like an inferno, I decided it was time to kill that cat with everything I got. I will snap it's through in one fell swoop. I lunge at the cat and bite it's through like I want to gouge out it's voice box. I am chewing, biting, gnawing, and going on a rampage. I was never able to break it's neck... It bled to death from it's eyes... I do not think I even really made any real injuries on it's neck...

I was very tired at this point in time. I was also very hungry and knew I lost lots of blood. I decided to go to sleep with the cat's neck in my mouth. Maybe I'll be able to sleep eat like last time.

In reality, It's just that I feel too tired to move my face away from the cat's neck. I am not such a savage or disgusting being who devours my enemies. Everything that happens is the instincts of the monster and not me.

*Ding* Quest: "Evolving from animal to monster" added to quest book.

And with my new home in this cave, let the real monster be born.
