I just got out of the shower when I received a text from Dawn.
(π) She sent me another emoji.
I laughed upon seeing her message.
(I'm really sorry about last night. Let's meet up later. Okay?) I texted back.
(π£) She replied.
"Oh my! She's really childish. What am I to do with her?" I said with amusement. Then I remembered something.
1|(Ja, hontΕni sumimasen.! π) I replied in Japanese.
Dawn is half-Japanese, half-French. She's fluent in English, French and Japanese. Usually she would talk to me again once I texted back in Japanese.
Three minutes has passed and I haven't received a reply from her. She must be really upset with me. I shrugged my shoulders and start drying my hair.
Ding...
A TDG notification alert appeared on my phone's screen.
[Someone is knocking on your door. Who is it?
A. Your best friend
B. Your boss
C. Your neighbor]
I laughed upon seeing the choices.
"It's a Saturday. Hmm. I've met my neighbor a while ago. Surely my boss won't come barging at my door. Let's try the best friend and see how it goes." I said as I clicked on A.
I put my phone down and continue drying my hair.
Ding...
Another notification.
[Your best friend will bring...
A. Your favorite ice cream
B. Your favorite cake
C. Your favorite fruit]
"Definitely ice cream." I laughed. "How I wish it will come true. I'm craving for one."
I finished drying my hair and went out of my room.
I walked to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator.
"Hmm. I'm running low on supplies. Guess I'll go shopping later. Bacon and eggs on toast then."
I pull out the bacon from the freezer and take two eggs from the tray. I was about to close the door when I spotted the lemons I've bought last week. I reached for it before closing the door.
"Lemonade for breakfast!" I said happily.
...
I was about to eat breakfast when someone rang my doorbell.
"I'm not expecting anyone. Who could it be?"
Rather than wondering who could be at my door, I got up to open the door.
"Hey, old maid!" I saw Dawn standing on my doorstep.
"Dawn!" I smiled. "What are you doing here?"
I saw her pout when I asked her.
I laughed which made her smile, only for a second though. I opened the door widely for her to come in.
"You're hurting my feelings. After ditching me last night you didn't even console me. You didn't even bother to call and ask if I get to watch the movie we've decided on. Am I really your best friend?" She said feigning sadness as she entered my apartment. She turned to me and handed down a parcel in a brown paper bag. She's still sulking.
I almost dropped the package upon touching it. It felt cold to touch.
Dawn laughed upon seeing my reaction.
"Haha. Got you! That's for not coming over last night. I've brought your favorite," she said laughing.
"Ice cream?" I guessed while trying to handle it.
"What else? Come on, I'm starving. Feed me some breakfast before we have some." She said as she went to my kitchen.
"Yay! Bacon and eggs on toast! Do you have mental telepathy or something?" She asked cheerily.
I was left alone at my doorstep with a confused look on my face. I remember my choices from earlier. Surely this is just a coincidence right? I shake my head.
"Nah, it's definitely just a coincidence." I said as I walked to the kitchen.
1| Well, I'm really sorry.
