Chapter 6 - WE MEET AGAIN

Ding...

[You're walking when you suddenly bumped into someone.

A. Your childhood friend

B. Your highschool crush

C. Your friend's ex]

"What's that?" Dawn asked as she snatched the phone away from me.

"Hey! Give it back!" I said as I tried to get it back from her.

"Wait! I'm just going to read it. Don't be a killjoy." She said as she put the phone up, away from my reach. Dawn is taller than me by half a foot.

"A dating app? My, my! Afraid to be an old maid, aren't you?" Dawn teased me while handing back my phone.

"Correction! It's a dating game app not a dating app. They're not similar at all." I defended. "And for the record, I'm not afraid to become an old maid."

"Dating game or whatever, it's still about dating. I didn't know your into these kind of things." She said as she Indian-sits on the couch. "Why don't you try going to blind dates? Who knows? Maybe you'll be able to meet your future boyfriend there."

"Blind dates are not my thing. I'd rather wait for someone to ask me on a date than joining those things." I said before I turn my phone's screen back on. It seems that Dawn have accidentally chosen an answer.

'We've met again.' Says the display on my screen. Oh well, I'll just wait for another notification to come.

I begin exploring the app completely ignoring Dawn who seems to be engrossed watching the movie as she eats the ice cream she brought with her.

My avatar is currently pacing back and forth in her room. I clicked the mirror inside the room and my avatar slowly walked to it. The screen zoomed in to the mirror showing different icons on its side. I clicked the lipstick icon and different colors of lipstick appeared. I choose light pink and clicked the check sign. I then continue beautifying my avatar upon getting the gist of the icons' purpose.

"Hey! Would you like to go to the grocery with me? I'm going now." I asked Dawn.

"Hmm? No, thanks. I'll stay here for a bit. Will you be gone for a long time?" She asked.

"I'm not sure. Maybe." I replied before going to my room to get my purse. "Do you need something?" I asked her as I was wearing my sneakers.

"Can you buy me a burger and fries?" She asked.

"Okay. Just make yourself at home. I'll try to be fast."

...

Fair Mart.

I'm standing at the condiments section looking through my grocery list. I'm just missing Worcestershire sauce. I grab one and put it in my cart.

After making sure that I didn't miss anything, I put my phone inside my purse and push the cart to the checkout counter.

I was a few steps away from the checkout counter when my phone ring. I stopped in my tracks and took my phone out. I was about to answer the call when I feel something bumped me from my side.

I instantly touch my left side feeling a little pained. I glanced at the left and saw that a cart has bumped me.

"Are you okay?" A man's voice came from my behind. I then felt his warm hands touch my left hip. "I'm really sorry, I didn't see you. Are you hurt here?"

I turned ready to lash out at him. However, my words stayed in my mouth upon seeing the guy in front of me. He seemed surprise as well and suddenly smiled showing his perfect white teeth.

"We meet again, Aria. Remember me?"
