I woke up to the sound of the alarm. 4:00am. I groaned. I forgot to reset the alarm to 7:00am since it's a Saturday. I set it to 7:00am.
Ding... A notification alert.
[Who would you prefer?
A. Your handsome colleague
B. Your cute neighbor next door]
"This dating app sure keeps up to its promise." I laughed. I choose B and went back to sleep.
The clock alarmed again at 7:00. I stretched out while yawning. I feel refreshed from being able to sleep some more.
I checked my phone for any messages. None. There's only a TDG notification.
[Your cute neighbor knocks on your door. He will...
A. Invite you for coffee
B. Ask for your number
C. Give you some dessert]
I choose B. I reached for my charger from my bedside table and charged my phone.
I stretched once again and get out of bed. Without bothering to put my slippers on, I walked barefooted to the kitchen to drink water still in my nightgown.
As I was drinking, somebody rang my doorbell.
"It must be Dawn." I mumbled to myself. She usually comes to my apartment on Saturday mornings. She must be really pissed with me to go this early.
"I'm really sorry for last night." I said as I was opening the door. "I..." I was not able to finish my sentence upon seeing the person at my door.
Standing in front of me is not Dawn. It was my neighbor next door, Chris. He's wearing a white shirt and faded jeans. It seems that he was out from the shower a few moments ago.
I feel my cheeks flushed upon remembering that I'm wearing a flimsy nightgown and haven't even washed my face nor brushed my teeth. Feeling bashful, I hid my body behind the door with my head sticking out. Chris must have been in shocked upon seeing me in my nightgown.
He coughed to clear his throat.
"Um, sorry to bother you. Aria, right?" He smiled.
I just nod my head.
"You're teaching at St. Agatha Academy, right?" He asked.
"Yes." I replied with a nod.
He smiled. "I knew it. Well, my nephew will be transferring to St. Agatha next semester. My sister asked me if I could inquire about the requirements for a smooth transfer. I was hoping if you could help me with this." He said while scratching his head.
"Okay." I could only nod to his request. I'm still quite a little bit shaken from having Chris in front of my doorstep.
"Great!" He said enthusiastically. "May I get your contact detail so that it would be easier for my sister to keep in touch with you in case she have inquiries?" Chris said as he handed his phone towards me.
I reached for his phone and keyed in my number.
"Here it is." I said as I handed back his phone. His fingertips brushed against mine as he reached for it. I felt some shivers into my spine.
"Thanks, Aria. I'll get going. Have a nice day!" He smiled and waved goodbye.
I leaned on my apartment's door upon closing it. My neighbor nextdoor have asked for my number. Can this day be any better?
