I was taught at a young age that when a lotus blooms, magic swipes the air. Well, I thought it did. I felt myself in the air. I was wearing a white robe, while standing in front of a tall temple.
I walked towards the entrance and walked inside. There was a garden full of lotuses, white lotuses. They were in the process of blooming, almost opening.
"Wonderful, aren't they?" A soft voice said behind me. I turned around a very beautiful woman. She was glowing slightly amongst he white dress. I nodded, captivated by her beauty, but she seemed blind.
"I see you very clearly my dear" she said, as if she read my mind. She walked and I followed her to where she was going. "Please, sit" she said, gesturing to the lounging chair. I sat down and she sat opposite of me.
"My eyes suit you well" she said to me as she poured some tea into two cups. "I hope your visions aren't traumatizing you that much" she said to me as she drank some tea.
"No, they aren't of any trouble. I have learned how to suppress the feeling of the visions. I thank you, kind lady" I said taking the tea and sipping it slowly. She smiled and looked at me, statistically.
"Do you want to know who I am?" She asked me as she set the cup down. I shook my head an looked down.
"Don't look down, you'll be an empress soon. You have been blessed by the gods and goddesses. You have the beauty of a goddess and the knowledge of the gods. You should carry yourself with grace" she said.
"Hien Lixue thanks you" I said blushing, while smiling. She smiled and talked "My name is Lianhua Zhanfang, I am the goddess of Lotuses. When a lotus blooms, the magic I put in the moves in to the air. This gives the earth the power to be fertile, the power to give people love and to bring families closer" she said.
"The eyes that were given to you as a child were mine. When that monk called upon the goddesses to bless you, they all give you the gift of beauty, elegance and kind heart. When it was my time to bless you, I gave you my eyes. Not because I felt sympathy for you, but because I felt like you should see the world through my eyes. Your innocence and pure personality really pulls me towards you" she said as she drank some more tea.
I nodded and sipped some more tea. "So, you wanted me to see the world in a more pure way than it is now?" I asked her. "Yes. Not only that, but do you realise that now that people know that you exist, they would kill just to be with you?" She said, looking deeply into my eyes with he-well my grey eyes.
I shook my head and she countinued, "there was once a prophecy, about a girl what will be blessed with both beauty and knowledge of gods and goddesses. She is said to be the most strong influenced beauty in all of China. They said her influence will make a whole nation turn there heads. They said the man that will marry her will benefit from this" she said.
"So, is Weishang marrying me because of this?" I asked her turning my body more towards her. "Yes and no. Yes, because with your influence can make him a great ruler and no because their ies something about you that drew him to you. He does not even know that your the gift from the heavens" she says.
I nodded and felt like falling asleep. "No, not yet, I still need to ask you some more questions" I said, quietly. She hushed me silently and whispered "we will meet again. Just know I'm with you.... always" and slowly my eyes shut, dropping me into falling darkness.
"AHH" I screamed as I jumped up. I looked around, breathing quickly as I saw I was on grand bed. The silk was gold and red. The room was grand, almost as big as my compound area.
"Finally, your awake" a voice said from the door. I looked straight at the door, trying to figure who it was. The person walked towards me and sat next to me. "Dad, what happened?" I asked as I got up a little more.
"Well, you passed out when his majesty called you his future wife" he said in a teasing manner. I blushed and looked at my hands slightly. "Well, its surprising me that he wants to marry someone like me" I said looking outside. "Wait, whose room is this?" I asked him. "Well this is your new room" he said.
I nodded and looked around some more. The door opened and Weishang came into the room. "Am I disturbing anything?" He asked, walking up to the bed. "No, not at all, just wanted to make sure my daughter is well, your majesty" my father replied. Weishang nodded and sat to my right side.
My dad kissed my forehead and got up from the bed. "Well, I'll take my leave. I'll be in your mother's trunk with your books" my father said and walked towards the door. "Bye father" I said. He turned and waved at me.
The door closed and I was left with Weishang. "Are you comfortable, my dear?" He asked me as he held my hand. I nodded and he kissed it gently. "We will wed in 2 weeks time" he said.
"Isnt that too sudden?" I asked while looking at him. He shook his head and replied "I will be going to war after 4 months. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I want to know what love is before something bad happens to me-" "don't say that... It would be sudden to me... I don't want to be prepared as a widow at such a young age" I said to him, looking into your eyes.
He sighed and put his hand on my cheek. "I know this will be an adjustment, but let me promise you this. If I go to war, I will come back to you. That is a promise" he said and pulled my face to his and kissed me gently.
