Chapter 7 - VII. A rock

After a long while of walking, we had finally arrived at Leo's home

It was nice and warm inside.

He also gave me a spare room for me to sleep and i couldn't neglect the offer. the room had a really good bed. So soft and so wide. Who could ever reject such an offer.

The inside of the house was fully furnished. Maple wood floor, a holo-clock on the wall and a wine bar.

Excellent. A winebar.

I hope he has Irish milk. i love those things

The place was very well lit, not too bright and not too dim.

It was basically an upgraded version of a normal house.

And it's my first time being in a fancy one.

I used to live in a stockroom.

Everything was great. I thanked him.

I unpacked my stuff. Mostly just paper in my bag.

And some clothes.

Nothing much.

Though, i've been beggining to feel something odd.

And it's been bugging me for quite a while now

That menacing feeling.

Like someone's staring at you.

Like...

...like the black figure by the window of my room.

I walked towards it slowly

And the figure moved. Slowly.

Then it ran away.

I'm already too sleepy for this nonesense

So i lied down comfily on the bed like a puppy and began to drift away to dreamland with pillows all around me

As i peer my eyes to look at the window, it was there again.

The black figure thing.

I just ignored it and closed my eyes

Then a while later, i heard knocking on the glass

I just ignored it again.

After a few minutes i heard swishing in the bushes

And still i continued to ignore it.

Then it knocked...

...and knocked.

...and knocked endlessly

In a fit of anger, i grabbed the nearest thing beside me and threw it out the window

I only expected the thing to bounce off the glass to scare the thing away but the thing i threw broke the glass through and i heard a faint cry thereafter

Finally, it went quiet. I could get some sleep.

I hope he doesn't kill me for making a hole on his window.

*the next morning*

I woke up early, well rested and feeling glad.

I had a lot of time before my class starts so i opened my bags and skimmed through my notes yesterday

And after a while of reading, the homeowner called me for breakfast

So i went downstairs, which my room was on the second floor, just next to his.

The breakfast was prepared on the winetable. All in order and prepared.

He looks at me and pieces a smile

"Morning!" He greeted

His left eye though, was purple and bruised.

Yet it was a good morning for him?

"May i ask what happened to your eye?"

He just stared blankly

"Cmon let's eat." He said, patting the seat next to him.

And so i did.

The breakfast was pancakes and mashed potatoes.

It looked too good for me to eat.

In fact, the preparation looked so perfect, itself was a piece of art

But... food is still food.

I tasted it and it was beyond my expectation, the sweet flavour of the pancake stayed in the mouth,

Like heaven embodied in a pancake.

"So, aren't you gonna ask me about your window? I'm sure you've seen it. I'm sorry"

"It's alright. It's nothing." He said, smiling while rubbing his bruised eye
