"So, would you like to tell me about yourself?" He asked
We were dining in a fancy restaurant. Never in my life i've to one before, i felt like the food is too good for me
He ordered the course.
A bowl of bird's nest soup, made out of real bird nests, steak glazed in sweet sauce, and some salad with peas.
I ordered the salad for myself. I love greens.
"Well, i am Kyouri Kuma. I'm nineteen" i said, chewing on lettuce
"I like books, and... yeah books"
He chuckled
"Do you live in the suburbs? Do you have a condominuim? Or just renting a room in an apartel?"
"No, i live in... a friend's house"
*Leo's just my friend. Right?*
"So, it must be in the city then" he smiled
"Nope. It's in a forest somewhere. Covered in snow"
"In... snow?" He said, his piece of steak stuck between mid-air and his mouth
"Yes"
"But... it's not even winter yet!"
Wait, he's right. It's barely even winter time.
"So, where is it located?"
"I'm not sure myself. I just happen to be there"
He just stared
"Anyway, it's a fancy house. Nothing to worry"
"Okay" he chewed on steak
"Can you continue? I'll just listen"
"Okay, um.
I am living alone. Not really alone, i live with a friend.
So my parents, weren't really there when i was born. I'm... adopted, you can call me that.
I was taken by some guy, told by the head of the orphanage.
She said he was no ordinary guy, he was kind, and very dedicated.
He took care of me until i was about four-years old. And told me he had to go somewhere.
But didn't come back...
The head of the orphanage said he went to go places, he had job so they couldn't really stop him.
She said he was an important guy. Someone who was a big part of the development of society. I don't know how important.
I grew up in the orphanage, they taught me everything about families and how to make good friends
They taught me religion. About God and how he gave me great blessings in life. And it made me happy somehow.
I went to school by early age. Graduated highschool. Went to college, where i am now, and so i made the choice to leave the orphanage.
They all bid farewell and told me to come visit anytime.
And my money? Well, i try my best to get some myself. I work part times, almost everywhere.
And just recently i got kicked out by my landlady. I lost my payment for rent.
So then, i met these two guys who took care of me currently. They're kind and generous people."
I said. Cutting a piece of steak
"Wow it's so soft."
I looked at him. He was staring at me blankly
"Were you staring at me the entire time?"
He cleared his throat. He seemed to snap out of his trance.
"Sorry" he said, looking away.
"It's alright." I smiled
"Aren't you... sad?"
"No. Not at all"
"I'm glad. You're a brave-"
An explosion then blew up the entrance of the restaurant.
Debris fell down raining on everyone
"Get down!" He grabbed my hand and we ran towards one of the marble columns
"Kyouri, stay here" he said, kissing my chin
I felt it with my hand, and was astonished.
"W-wait!" i tried to grab his shirt but he was too fast.
He went running out.
I had no idea where he was going.
So i had to follow him.
He was outside.
Facing another guy with long hair wearing tight, black jeans and a baggy sweater
"It seemed that i had disturbed you" he said
"You sure did. And you'll pay for it"
He said, smacking his fists together
"I advise you to leave now. I'll commend you for your bravery, so i'll spare your life" he grinned
"That's my line"
The long haired guy laughed hysterically
"I have to tell you, nobody's come spoken to me and managed to walk away alive!"
"You're funny" he replied
He then came sprinting towards him and readied his fist.
