Everyone was staring at him in shock while sucking in a deep breath of cold air. Nobody has ever been so rude to their senior who they regarded as a beautiful and top-tier existence. Yet this kid on the side of the road wearing a hunk of armor just did that.
The veins on the middle-aged man began to pop as rage seethed from his body. His raised his hand and was about to vaporize the kid when Olivia waved her hand, indicating for him to stop. He could only reluctantly obey and stop.
"You're interesting. I am core disciple Olivia Karahaliou of the Windbreaker Clan. This person is my personal bodyguard Dionne Matria. He can be a bit sensitive to words. Kid, where did you come from?" she asked with an indifferent look.
"My names not 'kid', it's Arthur. I came from a place that didn't have Qi. I just stumbled upon this place and reached the peak of the post-xiantian realm after an unknown amount of time," he said as he slowly calmed himself down.
Everyone, including the Dionne guy, looked at him in shock. Even Olivia seemed to surprised.
"How old are you?" asked Olivia.
"13-14. I can't remember anymore," he said with a shrug. Everyone couldn't help but hold their breaths in.
"A genius. You're definitely qualified to enter our clan. No, you could become a core disciple and maybe an elder. Do you wish to join our clan?" she said politely as she reached out her hand.
Arthur couldn't help but have his eyes glitter in excitement. The gifted book mentioned that they can be very useful in becoming stronger and are mostly safe places as long as their powerful enough.
"Is it alright?" he asked as his previous agitation completely vanished.
"Of course, please join me," she said as she politely brought him into the carriage.
Time went for a very long time. Arthur became a top-tier talent in the Windbreaker Clan and learned various arts of wind techniques. His knowledge of the world grew until he could get a grasp on everything. This sect was just an average sect out of the many other sects on a huge continent. Then there was other continents. But all of this was just a drop of water compared to the alien tribes outside the Immortal Realm.
The Dao became clear to him and his comprehensions abilities displayed their full effect. His cultivation soared with the knowledge the libraries offered outside the gifted book. He surpassed the heavenly tribulation to the xiantian realm. He made many enemies but they could do nothing. Eventually, his cultivation reached Saint Immortal which was where Inner disciples were at. His heart formed the Dao of Knights.
Hundreds of years went by and he reached the Divine realm where Saint Qi is compressed into a Saint Core that hovers inside your body and ones soul is transformed. Surviving the heavenly tribulation, he became a core disciple and was deemed as a possible candidate as the next headmaster.
With his vast understanding of the Windbreaker techniques and divine weapons that were given to him, and the fact that he was receiving so much support, nobody dared offending him. He took his time to upgrade his dad's inherited armor and equipment to divine level by inviting high tiered array, rune, and smith masters.
The girl that brought him in cultivated an emotionless Dao, and only stayed acquainted with Arthur. But he gradually fell in love with her without knowing. It was only then did he realize it that, he became depressed and his Dao heart nearly shattered. Although women come flocking to him, he never loved them.
Arthur left the clan for a bit and wandered about before settling down in a nearby mortal village.
The day was usual in this mortal village. It was a regular sized place but most of the people were nice and simple in this world. Arthur sat in one of the village and would silently stare off into space on a rocking chair, watching the kids go by. His black hair dropped to his shoulders and his body was that of a twenty year-old teenager.
Time had went by and he understood who the world now worked. He upgraded all of his dad's inheritance and obtained all the riches he wanted, but they all felt meaningless. His Dao heart had become blurry and he no longer felt certain about anything anymore. He had fallen in love but it was rejected by nothing but indifference, which had impacted him greatly.
The sect head and elders saw this and silently left him alone. Although friends would come by, they only cared about his status and riches.
It wasn't until one day he saw a little kid dressed in leather armor and pretending to attack with a stick as a sword at the other kids playfully. He even had a shield and blocked their attacks.
He saw enlightenment, and his Dao heart trembled as it gradually changed. Arthur's eyes glittered and the dull eyes of a mid-life crisis vanished away. He instantly realized that his way of thinking was wrong and had deviated from it's original path.
Arthur took out his armor and equipment which fell on the floor. The whole set shined a silver glow and Saint ripples constantly moved on it's surface. Runes and arrays constantly glittered on it's surface and refined the metal beneath to the max. The scabbard emitted fierce energies from it's body alone.
"That's right. I never came here to fall in love even if I wanted to. I only promised to continue the inheritance of my father and to keep fighting. I was trained to be a knight and fought like a knight, yet I've abandoned the five codes of chivalry without even knowing it. I've been too corrupted by the riches and fame," he said, feeling self-depreciated.
"I'm a failure as a knight and have failed my parents for so long without even realizing it," he said with a desolate sigh. His Dao shattered and turned into shards that began dissipating visibly. Arthur's face turned white and his cultivation began to collapse. He swallowed a mouthful of blood.
"But, if I can't be a knight anymore, then maybe I can be a soldier?" he asked himself. His eyes brightened and his shattered dao heart stopped dissipating.
"That's right. I can be a soldier! I'll cultivate the Dao of a soldier, to atone for my sins," he muttered as his eyes turned hazy. Then he slowly dissipated into the air.
Arthur teleported to low-tier kingdoms and empires full of mortals without ever coming back to the clan. Nobody was truly his friend there and even the headmaster was full of greed. Even if they helped, the only used him, so why should he come back?
His cultivation shattered and he regressed back to post-xiantian realm once again.
