Chapter 47 - What the Heavens are Like

"So what's the circumference of the Immortal Realm?" I asked.

"Huh? Size? Around 20 billions miles. Why do you ask?"

"It's that big?" I said in shock. One must know that such a size is probably larger than the solar system.

"Not really. This world can only be considered a middle grade low-tiered planet in terms of size. I've seen planets so big that if your world was to collide with one, it'd be 99% less of an impact than what those stars did after colliding with this world. And those aren't the largest I've seen yet," he said with a shrug.

"But is the Immortal Realm on a time limit?" I asked, switching the topic.

"I'd say that the Immortal Realm has less than a hundred years before it begins collapsing," he said sighing.

"A hundred years? Isn't the Qi depletion rate low enough that the Immortal Realm has stayed intact for a billion years?" I asked with shock.

"Well it would've lasted more than a million years if it wasn't for those star impacts which have caused space cracks that are sucking away the Qi."

"There's only two ways for space cracks or slits to heal. One is Qi and the other is Dao. If Dao is missing, Qi will be endlessly sucked inside without end. If Qi is missing, then Dao will just be sucked inside and cause the space cracks or slits to grow. The amount of Dao in this world is too meager. Small space cracks will heal up in no time but the huge ones created by those stars are just vacuum cleaners. Their lifespan will exceed the Immortal Realms time."

"What happens after the time limit?" I calmly asked.

"The Immortal Realm will begin shrinking and collapsing until it becomes a black hole," he said with a gloomy face.

"You won't understand since the outside is vast. Black holes are horrifying objects made purely of time and space laws. They suck anything in and almost nothing comes out. Even the peak existences on the outside will have trouble even moving these things. My master could do this at his peak, but it would take considerable effort."

"The life-cycle of a world isn't that complicated. Every second, countless worlds are birthed. They take millions of years to form but they can become lands rich in Qi, elements, and Dao that are rich cultivation holy-lands. They can last billions of years but it depends on how it's resources are used. The largest ones are more rich in resources and last the longest while it's the opposite for smaller ones. But in rare occasions, small ones are the richest while the large are opposite"

"But every second, countless worlds die by wars or running out of resources. The density of Qi and Dao is determined by ten ranks. Ten being the highest quality and one being the lowest quality. The Immortal Realm is slightly below rank 1. Below rank 1, a planet becomes unstable and it's deterioration speed will gradually speed up over time."

"The guardian laws or what you call heavenly laws that rain Dao and create the barrier to the upper and lower realm will collapse once the Qi density drops to a certain point. Chaotic space energies will invade and destroy everything on the surface while the world collapses on itself. A world's heart or a planets guardian, will escape from the core to not be crushed and turned into a black hole."

"The world guardian will descend to the bottom of the void realm where the universal barrier is to absorb the endless universal energies from the barrier before returning to the surface to birth itself again as a new planet. I'll explain the void realms," he said.

"No, I know the void realms. But won't creatures try and eat the world guardian at it's weak time?" I asked.

"World guardians are formed from the grand and boundless dao of our universe. The laws they contain are peak, pure, and boundless. Trying to attack or eat one is the equivalent of going against the grand dao and the upper realm itself. One will be struck with the angered lighting of the heavens that can easily kill the strongest beings of the upper realms. Even a black hole will be destroyed," he said with a laugh.

"How strong did your master become?" I curiously asked.

"My master fought his way up to the top. Reaching perfection of his soldier dao in the Duke realm, he reached the peak of the Emperor realm in a hundred thousand years and become the most famous person of his era. During a tribulation to ascend past our universe into the land of gods, he left behind all his weapons and inheritance scattered across the upper realms that kills anybody that hears the chime and isn't destined for it. Although I'm sure he succeeded, I haven't seen him since," he said with loneliness in his eyes.

"I think he's dead," I mentioned.

"WHAT?!" he roared as killing intent filled the area. Volcanoes violently erupted and I felt cold sweat running my back.

"He left behind a message that indicated he was at the end of his life. It's a tiny message in the ancient hallway," I calmly said with respect.

He calmed down and gazed into the distance. His expression turned depressed and sad as the volcanoes died down.

"Ai. I guess something happened to him. Emperor realm cultivators last two to three billion years. There's no way he'd die of old age," he muttered in sadness.

"Maybe the place above the upper realm has much faster time compared to here," I said with a sigh.

"Perhaps so. It didn't sound like he was killed in anyway based his words. I've known him long enough to know that he'd leave behind a message much more different if that was the case," he said as he shook his head.
