Chapter 37 - Ice Sanctuary (3)

After that horrifying space creature incident, I tracked Katherine's location and retreated to her direction. With my speed, it only took an hour to arrive where she was at. I slowed down frantically and stopped several feet in front of here. Seeing my fast speed, she stood up surprised.

"Did something happen?" she asked.

"Yes," I nodded, "I searched around for a bit and discovered a temple that has already been cleaned."

"And?"

"I also met the void outside the world," I said.

"You didn't do anything stupid did you?" she said, looking at me weirdly.

"Well, I may have attempted to enter it," I said, looking away from her gaze.

"Are you an idiot? The void is a horrifying place where only the most dreadful creatures live. The weakest ones can easily kill divine cultivators. The strongest ones are only a level weaker than the world will of the Immortal Realm. You're lucky you didn't get found," she said with a sigh.

"I barely did. I burnt blood essence to barely escape," I said with a dry laugh.

"You're lucky or we'd be having a serious problem if one of them got the devour laws," she said weakly.

"How serious?"

"Just as serious as a realm gaining a full inheritance of devour laws. Do you know how many void levels there are?" she asked.

"How many?"

"The first void is beneath space where people with high enough cultivation travel through. It's mostly safe all the time and only Divine cultivators can rip open space to travel through. The 2nd void level is where the weakest void beasts stay since any beast that goes above a certain cultivation level will automatically be kicked out to the 3rd. This is where small tiered realms like Ice Sanctuary are located at."

"S-so you mean these creatures-," I said with a gulp, not daring to finish the sentence.

"Yes," she said nodding her head, "the weakest void beasts have to have a minimum requirement of divine in order to survive. Any void level is chalk full of dangerous creatures. You were probably attacked by a divine level creature or burning blood essence would've been futile." I remained silent, so she continued.

"But as one's cultivation rises, one will be able to enter higher tiered levels. Unfortunately, you can't enter the lower levels afterwards, or it'd be a hunting zone. Each level is an infinite plane, and can be easy to get lost in without proper methods, so not a lot of people do it."

"Continuing on, the highest tier low level goes up to the 4th level. Then 5th to 9th level is mid level realms. 10th to 14th is the highest tiered realm you can possible go to. But anybody that can create realms that deep can destroy the Immortal Realm with just a thought."

"Then the final void is the 15th void called the Abyss. This is where the universal barrier is that's supposedly near impossible to break nor surpass. Nobody knows what lies beyond, because it's the peak of the cultivation path which nobody has completely reached. But the creatures that inhabit the 15th level are way larger than our world. Powerful enough that words can't describe."

"But if one does rituals to these void beasts, they can summon one of a certain level depending on how powerful the summoning is. But they can only stay in existence for so long before having to return."

"How do you know all this?" I weirdly looked at her.

"This is what I was taught as a core disciple. The Ancient Clans knowledge is profound and surpassing of this world," she said with a shrug.

"But why hasn't the will of this realm descended? I've done various things that would attract it's attention easily. I don't understand," I said.

"Probably because it's in a deep sleep that it only responds to basic things," she said.

"Was it injured?" I asked.

"Probably. Deities of a realm only enter a deep sleep if they're serious injured or if they're in the process of evolving. But if it was evolving, then everyone would know and nobody would enter during that process. So it must've been injured a very long time ago," she said deeply frowning.

"I guess it's good for us. Let's go over to that temple," I said.

"Sure," she said with a nod, before following behind me as I went to my previous location.

It took an hour but I arrived at the temple which was sitting in the middle of the snow as usual before entering. Katherine entered and inspected the place a bit before nodding in satisfaction.

"This place will do for now," she said entering a room.

"By the way, did you find any food?" she asked. I gave her some of the ice cores from my stomach.

"That's all I could find," I said lowing my head.

She looked at the cores with light in her eyes.

"This is very beneficial for me. It should stave off my hunger for the time being," she said as she absorbed the ice energies coming off it.

And like this, I left and sat down in another room to cultivate silently.
