On the 833rd hour or the 35th day, the impacts finally stopped. The numbers reached a little over 5000. All the visible stars in the night sky had disappeared, but a whole new set of them came into view, with totally different star positions. This was the 2nd time in Immortal Realms history that this has happened.
The sun also finally came up, after being gone for so long. The dying lifeforms that needed sunlight finally cheered as it returned. That was only the good news.
Meteor's of rocks and magma rained to the Earth all the way up to a billion miles away. Some causing massive destruction and the deaths of many. A magma wasteland temporarily formed on the ocean floor, with it's size up to a hundred million miles in some places. Most of the smoke has gone up into the atmosphere, where it floats in the vacuum. The rest is being carried towards the center in a massive wall of air.
Once the air has returned, ash and soot will rain upon anything within half a billion miles, that will make life difficult and block out the sun. Temperatures within will drop to freezing while staying hot near any regions close to the forming volcanoes.
Finally, the giant and hidden clans within and outside the affected areas began to move, causing a large movement.
On the edge of the magma lakes, a wall of black, hardened magma has formed. The hills are already miles high and is the starting point of a future massive chain of volcanoes. The air wall has already passed through quite a while ago, but there's still constant hurricane winds that have similar speeds to that of a category 5 hurricane on Earth.
Magma meteors occasionally rain down with trails of smoke behind them as they crashed into the charred grounds outside the magma lakes. The sky is dimmed with smoky filled winds but it's enough to still see clearly for several hundred meters.
On the ledge near the magma side, a hand with cracked shingles on them slowly grabbed the black ledge. The hand tightened as another one reached up. A figure, covered in black, cracked shingles slowly crawled up. Completely naked, this humanoid figure stood up slowly with blood leaking out from the cracks. Standing against the winds, the figure staggered but stood upright, with the aura of a majestic hero behind him.
Although this figure was covered in shingles, the person's face looked very close to human if it wasn't for the scaly shingles everywhere. Two red eyeballs opened up, that gave an intimidating look. Finally, this figure opened it's mouth, that was full of razor sharp teeth.
Letting out a ferocious roar with all it's might and it's head looking into the skies, the air trembled as blood gushed from it's injuries. It's roar seemed to be saying, "I'm alive!"
Finally, it staggered to the side before fainting on the ledge from exhaustion. It's body slowly turned into a dome shape.
1st Person POV
I never thought I'd make it through. I barely had enough time to repair my exoskeleton each round. The heat was unbearable and each impact injured my insides as well. This drained my mental energy to rock bottom. If it had continued, my mental state could've been severely damaged. I somehow regained a pair of eyes after transforming partially before fainting after yelling.
Now waking up, my entire body was wrecked with pain. The blood loss was quite severe before I had fainted. Now that I had woken up, my shingles have repaired once again, but are very dim and fragile. Inflammation, internal bleeding, and a fever are currently attacking me, causing me to periodically cough up blood.
With no food, my recovery has reached rock bottom. With Qi, I don't need food for a while after reaching this cultivation, but now it's become a problem since I digested all of it. I slowly moved my body in it's original form through the hurricane winds and down the ledge. Slowly burning my blood essence, I was able to quickly move through the winds and away from the magma lakes.
The area quickly flattened out, with occasional rocks sticking out of the ground from meteors. The sea floor now a hard rock charred by the intense heat. No marine life could've survived here. The only one that had a chance would be the saint creature. I don't even know if those people are alive. Probably got killed in a tsunami or shock wave. Maybe they couldn't even escape the stars. Damn, I didn't even have the chance to get the topography.
I only traveled so far until my mental energy drained again. Laying back down, I fell into a deep sleep.
Three days later...
When I woke up, I was feeling much better. The inflammation and fever had gone away, but I was still in pain. My exoskeleton had recovered somewhat, but definitely far from what it was before the raining stars. My mental energy had recovered somewhat, so that's good.
Looking around, not much has changed. The winds are still fiercely blowing and the amount of dust is making the sunlight comparable to a full moon. Since the air is blowing towards the magma lakes, the smoke and ash has been pulled that direction, leaving dust behind to blow in the air. But the concentration of steam in the air has become very humid. Although it doesn't affect me, it's still something worth noting.
The ground started vibrating. The hurricane wind speeds drastically increasing and sped towards the direction of the magma lakes. The air turned a misty white as well. Since finishing the tribulation, I had gained two eyes on the bottom of my dome body close to my mouth. I flipped my body on it's side and opened my eyes to look ahead; releasing my divine sense at the same time. This of course, drastically increased wind resistance with my flat surface so I dug myself into the ground at the same time.
Through the dust-filled air, I was the biggest tsunami in history. Since it's traveling on land, the water in the front lines has turned into a white mist. This is usually a result after a large enough wave hits shallow water and overturns itself, causing a white mist of water to hit the shores. But with a tsunami this large, the water is constantly overturning itself, making the water completely misty and white as it gradually slopes up.
But the water color is incredibly muddy, probably after picking up tons of mud from it's intense speeds.
With the winds way faster than the tsunami, the mist is being blasted into the air and blown ahead, increasing the humidity the closer one gets to it while making the air a foggy white. Seeing the water, I jumped for joy. It's like an oasis in a desert and I'm thirsty.
Flipping myself over, I dug partially into the ground for support. The tsunami approached and was quickly engulfed even in my large form. The mist quickly disappeared and I was surrounded by muddy water so muddy that I can't even see a few inches in front of me. Traveling at speeds similar to the hurricane winds, the viscosity of the water was way more brutal.
Any meteors in the ground were uprooted and moved along with the tsunami. The dust and debris that weren't picked up by the winds joined in as well. The scorched Earth began to loosen up and cracks formed in the ground. Some busted open and mud flew out. Although the intense heat scorched the surface down several inches, the mud below that was left relatively intact.
But I didn't care about these, I rapidly filtered out the muddy water with fresh water that entered my dry system. Elemental water quickly replenished me and I felt like kissing the ocean. I entered seclusion and stabilized my condition. With water energy, my Qi and cultivation easily recovered to it's peak in just a few hours.
But I can't move from this spot, because the intensity of the water movement will send me flying. So I just sat like a hermit for a few days while recovering my injuries.
Partially recovering, I shrunk my body to only two meters and manipulated the elemental water to move against the water currents. If this was a non-marine animal, it'd be impossible unless they had a high enough cultivation. But as a marine life-form with an attribute for elemental water, it's like swimming in my own home. I made about three miles of traveling after four hours, which signified progress.
Using divine sense, I detected five marine lifeforms flying with the water ahead of me. Using devour energy, I reached out and pulled them towards me like telekinesis. I dragged them towards me and they frantically tried to escape from my grasp. Upon closer look, they were several meters long and looked similar to Salmon. I thirstily devour them, and their blood essence became mine. Their energy and nutrition replenished my system that was starving. With food in my belly, my injuries began to heal way faster.
This is far from satisfactory, but at least I'm not going insane from starvation. I slowly moved ahead more for several more hours before discovering three more marine life. Pulling them in, they were large sea horses five meters in length. I quickly devoured them and laughed as my exoskeleton began to regain it's original luster.
As the days passed, marine life became more common in the wild currents, allowing me to replenish my energy and nutrition. Before I knew it, my hunger had been relieved, and my exoskeleton had repaired by now, becoming three times as strong and tough. If the same first stay collided again, only a few small cracks would appear. My injuries also repaired, and my vitality soared once again as my blood essence steadily replenished itself.
The muddy water somewhat thinned out, so that I can see several meters in all directions. Although the current water speeds haven't decreased much, it's a promising thing to see. I'm just so relieved to have made it through. Although the people are most likely dead, I should thank them. After all, boredom is the number one killer.
The next day, as I was traversing, I stumbled upon a large, solid object that stood among the rushing currents. It's size about half as my large form and a near perfect square. Even though the water has eroded the charred surface, allowing mud to be picked up, this object is still standing tall. One mustn't forget that the sea floor has eroded several meters, yet there's this object.
Moving up closer, I realized that the side facing the currents is covered in a layer of thick mud that ramps up to the very top. The object seems to be very old, showing decay everywhere. There's a large entrance to enter. It's like a giant person made a large hut with a large entrance fitting of it's size.
I entered and the first thing I took note of is it's emptiness. There's nothing but sediments and mud everywhere with nothing resembling a treasure or relic of some sorts. But the water currents from the outside have created a small whirlpool. The water seemingly entered before moving around the room and then exiting. This isn't air so it doesn't create a low pressure area.
I moved all the mud and sediment out to find nothing inside. But I found a small a small horizontal pathway that was buried by the mud. Digging it all out for several hundred meters, it suddenly turned into a vertical passage. I slowly moved through and released my divine sense. I discovered ahead, that the passage goes up vertically again and almost a hundred lifeforms were detected inside.
Curious, I floated closer and moved upwards. The water came to an abrupt stop, because water can't go upwards if there's an air pocket. I came out of the water to see the lifeforms.
