Chapter 4 - Devour Laws

After I finished reading the reading the floating commands which were slowly losing the remaining glow they had, I was a little shocked and speechless. Never in my entire life would I have thought that the pendent that was left behind by my great grandfather had an extraordinary purpose with an unknown origin.

Who would've thought that it could take one to other universes and all these crazy things. Not to mention I somehow ended up in a cultivation world known as the 'Immortal Realm'.

Thinking about it, I couldn't help but be a little bit excited. There would no longer be the need to restrain myself. I could act freely without no consequence. A plus side is that there's no civilization nearby, so I could relax without any people acting up. But at the same time, I felt depressed. My ex that I had finally met, was no longer with me.

"The next time I die, I'll go visit her," I said softly.

A sudden, needle piercing pain went through my entire existence, into my soul. Complex knowledge and comprehensions filled my mind related to the laws of devouring. I passed out and fell into a world of darkness, with no time for a thought to come through.

I woke up again after an unknown amount of time. The sky above the waters is already completely dark, with an abnormally large moon hovering in the sky. However, my mind was much clear for some reason, and full of vigor. I looked down at my body, which had changed a little.

The purple shingles were completely black, as if all light was being sucked in. Each shingle was filled with the complex laws of devour, completely mysterious. Yet, I could understand each of those mysteries, and know how to properly use it. My body's size has gone from five inches in diameter to nine inches. I could also feel my digestive system has changed completely, having an extra organ as well.

In the air, I can detect different forms of energy constantly moving about. Calling it Qi for now, I could feel the five elemental energies in the air. For example, all the energies within and near the water have way more elemental energy bluish and characteristic of water. At the island nearby, I could feel a higher concentration of earth energy than the others. If one's read novels, then they know the five elements are water, fire, wood, earth, and metal.

I went back into my dantain within my body. The place is more lit up compared to the last time. Instead of flakes of blue light, four thin, gaseous streams of blue Qi, along with water elements, were passing by the dantian, revolving around, before going to another meridian. The current cycles went about in the few unblocked pathways that are small compared to the main ones.

I'm connected to this sea urchin, or am the sea urchin, and can feel it has more vitality compared to before. Although I can't see within, I'm still connected to the nervous system, so I can tell.

I settled my mood down after a bit and began to familiarize myself with this body of mine. Merging with the nervous system, I gained the feeling of complete control, as if I'm one. The only way to move is by tiny little legs everywhere on the flat surface underneath the dome. I can feel that movement will be incredible slow.

I'm extremely sensitive to touch and chemicals by instinct when I'm directly connected. I can detect the individual chemicals and feel slight movements of the water. Aside from no eyesight, which is troubling, it's basically a lazy shelter, as long as no natural predator of sea urchins attack me.

My current mouth was attached to rock, to prevent movement. I didn't manipulate it much for fear I'd fall of the side of the rock. I checked out the rest of the places before resting for the night. The water outside the shell was rocking back and forth as usual.

The next day, I released my mouth when the rocking of the water was calm, and slowly moved. As guessed, it was slow. At my top speed, I realized that I moved 0.83 inches an hour, meaning about 20 inches every 24 hours. Such a speed was quite horribly slow, but understandable. I relinquished control of the movement to the creature itself, as both our souls haven't quite merged. I would observe as it quietly but slowly ate plant life off the rocks. I did not mind for some reason, as I felt lazy once again.

That did not last long, as the ingredient for laziness, is entertainment. My genes only have the supreme lazy ones, not the legendary, god-like lazy genes where I can stay lazy without nothing to do no matter how much time passes. If I had such a thing, I'm sure I would've received a divine blessing from the god of slothful in both universes. Maybe even that creator would come down personally to shake my hand. Then I'd be proud of it.

The days went by quietly and as my irritation reached it's peak, some events finally occurred that was interesting. Two people were floating in the sky, both injured.
