Chapter 13 - Finding a Goblin Village

I fly above the battlefield like a vulture, but I'm looking for the strongest wolves instead of dead bodies.

After 30 minutes I find what look like the leaders of the armies fighting, they both are twice as big as the other wolves and both have 2 drops of blood essence. This could raise my level by 20 levels, and they both look extremely tasty. I hope it's not that everything seems tasty when you're hungry.

But I cannot fight them, I'd be killed in a moment. But I don't need to kill them, I just need to steal their blood essence. And I do have ways to steal that as they're both wounded.

I control a portion of both of their blood and send it back into their wounds, making sure I camouflage it with the falling blood so they don't notice it. The blood I controls just follows the vessels, on their stealth mission towards the drops of essence. I need to do this slowly not to get noticed, if they notice they'll use their energy to cut the connection between me and their blood I control.

They keep fighting and after 15 minutes they still haven't noticed me, now I have all 4 drops encased in controlled blood. Now I need to maneuver the drops to their wounds, I'm glad I can't sweat, otherwise it'd be streaming down my forehead. If they weren't fighting I couldn't have done this.

At first I didn't want to bother with the wolves, there were so many and I can get killed so easily. But I'm about to have my biggest steal yet.

For convenience sake I steer both drops in both wolves together. And 5 minutes later they are finally about to leave the bodies of the wolves, but something amazing happens.

All blood essence start to shine and the 2 drops of each wolf start to merge, after that the wolves start to shine. The white wolf starts to sprout 2 angelic wings, the black wolf loses all of its hair and 2 bat-like wings start to grow. Damn this is amazing, 2 drops of blood essence can be combined, that's great.

While the wolves are still evolving I quickly lead the blood essence out and the wolves stop shining. Sorry guys. At that moment of failure all other wolves throw them at the two of them, I don't know why. But I have my price.

I quickly fly to a safe spot inside a tree and wonder which one I should drink first, what if I become incompatible with the second after drinking the first?

After some thinking I decide to drink them both at the same time. I open the blood spheres that hold the drops, and I see 2 drops, one with a black line and one with a white golden line. It really is like a godly and a devil bloodline.

I both drops elongate and spin around each other, and they fly in my mouth. I'm both excited and scared, but the expected burning didn't come, this time it feels like my body is being torn apart. This is way worse than the burning sensation, if it was this bad the first time around I'd have fainted. But these experiences make me more resistant against the pain. I don't need to curse the world to gain the power to resist, although I'd be shouting my longs out if I could.

Although the pain was worse, I didn't lose my sense of time. About 10 minutes later the pain fades away and I regain full control of my body. I feel stronger, but it's not as much as I imagined it to be. It feels like there's something dormant inside of me though.

"System, what changed?"

[Level: 30/55

There are some new energies that might influence your evolution, due to the number of different energies it's harder to predict your possible evolutions at this point.]

So just a level up for now, and 16 levels? So the quality was so high that it gave 8 levels each. So at most 5 drops more.

I feel like I have at least a week before I really need to drink new blood, this really was good stuff. I fly up and do my checks again, I'm a bit faster and stronger, and I can take more blood with me. But I don't know if it's more than what a normal level up would do.

I go and start flying around again, it's kind of sad that I don't have a place to go back to, I always kill and devour anything I want. Maybe I should have taken the Queen Bee with me, I'd have had some company.

Or maybe I can search for another companion, I do have telepathy after all. But company might slow me down, or I'll let them do all the work and I'll grow lazy. I'll get some underlings later, when I'm strong enough to protect them and myself against back-stabbers.

After resolving myself I continue on my quest for power.

After a few hours flying I find something I haven't seen before in this world, there's a 4 meter high wall before me. It's made of trees and there are a lot of gaps I can see through, but it's a wall nonetheless.

I fly around it and find a gate, there are 2 guards. But they aren't human, the 2 guards are about 1,40m tall and quite skinny, their clothes are just badly treated animal hides. I'd have called them goblins, but their skin is blue and they aren't that ugly compared to humans. Should I call them Smurfs in stead of goblins? I'll just call them goblins.

I want to talk to them, but I can't approach them looking like this. I should make a body using blood control and hide in it and I've thought of what it should look like already.

Due to my power ups and the level of blood control I create a 15cm tall body that looks just like I did, but there are 4 wings on the body's back. I made a blood fairy, and I hide in its longs. The longs are the only organs it has though, it's just because I need a place to sit with fresh air.

The only downside is that this is pretty much the maximum volume of blood I can control with ease, if I control more it'll tire me out, but it's not like I'm defenseless.

I fly up in my blood fairy doll, it's a bit weird though. The wings don't need to move to fly, but I do it anyway to prevent suspicion. A completely red flying fairy is suspicious enough already.

I approach the goblin and use telepathy to talk to it, telepathy transmits thoughts and not words. So, in this way I don't need to learn the language. I should probably start with asking for a place to rest, and ask if they know any strong creatures close by when they see that I mean no harm. But my story has to be good though.

"Greetings noble blue one, I am Red Wings. I've been sent to this forest on a mission, and I've lost my way here. I haven't had a proper rest in ages, might your village have a place for me to rest?"
