The crows voice in my head does remind me of the Morrigan, but it's a bit less famine. I honestly don't know if this bird is male or female, but that doesn't matter.
"Do you know the Morrigan?"
His pupils enlarged at my question, I suppose he does.
"We're the Morrigan, it was the name of our race when it still flourished. But that's millennia ago, how could a lowly bug like you know of that name?"
Oh, this is interesting. So the probability of this being the remains of her clan is really big, the heavens really did bless me to give me an opportunity for some small revenge.
"Before I was born in this world I met a Goddess, she was called the Morrigan. She was a crow goddess, and a goddess that foretells death, doom, and victory in battle. And I heard about this clan and it sounded so similar that I really did need to visit and ask about her."
At these words his eyes shined blue for a moment and the darkness around him lessened significantly, what did it do? After the blue faded there was shock on its bird face.
"You really did meet our ancestor! I can see her mark on you, but it's a mark I've never seen before, so I don't know what it does exactly."
"Why would she mark me? What does a mark do?"
"Most marks are just tracking spells, and sometimes they give subtle motivation when one loses their motivation. I can see a tracking part in yours, but there's more that I've never seen before. There are many triggers and they all result in a red cloud, although I don't know what the red cloud means. This kind of magic is well beyond myself."
So she even thought I wasn't fun enough to watch? She even needed to mess with me even more?
"Can I get rid of the seal? You might understand that I would prefer to keep my own mind."
"Do you really want that? You might lose your mind when you truly understand what happened."
Why does he even care? It doesn't seem like he wants to attack anymore so he should just tell me if he knows or not.
"I'm sure, if I can't even wrap my mind around this without losing my mind I wouldn't be worthy of being reincarnated."
"Keke that's true indeed. I do know of 2 ways, but both of them might kill you. The first is to be purged by light energy, this might work because your mark is made of darkness. But as the power you wield isn't your own, you will lose most of it due to the rejection of everything impure. But there's only a small chance of that happening, the biggest chance is that you'll die."
That does sound bad indeed, as most of my power is taken from others. And I don't want to die yet.
"The other way is to get your soul purified. This can be done by gaining control over souls, or make the dragon cleanse your soul. But I'll doubt he'll do that, he'll probably just drain the god aura out of you once it has matured some more."
Would that be what the dragon wants, he won't give me anything and just take? That does sound like an evil dragon to me, I'll probably be killed though.
Maybe I can find a way to gain the soul powers from the lizardman? I should go there first.
"Thank you for this information, I think I know where I should go now."
I say this as I turn around and fly away.
"Kekekekekekekeke"
I hear the crows laughing in my head and in my ears, my wings start glowing red from my anger, but I have more important things to do than a massacre.
I start flying towards the lizardman, my 15 drops of essence are still with me, but nothing happened with them.
"System, why don't the drops merge?"
[The blood essence isn't within a body so merging wouldn't benefit anything. This makes it nearly impossible to make the essence merge without making the essence see the worth of merging.]
"What level will I be if I drink all 15 drops right now?"
[Approximately 45/55]
"Is there a way to make the drops merge anyway?"
[The most reliable way is to insert the essence into another creature, but this way has a lot of waste. You'll have a merged drop equivalent to about 2 or 3 perfectly combined drops. This is the only way available to you now.]
Okay, so I don't want to drink all drops as they are, I'm afraid that will influence my evolution too much. The balance of different influences could be ruined. So, I'll find a test subject. I should have taken a crow with me to test. Well what has been done has been done, let's look for a second best before I go to the lizardmen.
After 15 minutes I find a black rat, I think he'll do just fine because he's black. I shackle his legs, tail and head. He's making a lot of noise though. Don't worry friend, you'll go stronger.
I make a small cut and I inject the sphere with all the blood essence into his bloodstream. After 10 minutes something happens, they all start to shine and darkness surrounds the rat. I see all drops merge, but I can feel a lot of energy being expelled, and some energy being absorbed into his flesh.
The now one drop of essence turned black, and at the moment it turned a full black it turned red again. All the darkness energy went into the rat and the red drop now had a silver line running through it. The rat was almost done evolving and I pulled the new drop of essence out of him. The evolution stopped but he was still restrained by me, I looked at his now full black eyes and decided to give him a chance.
"Will you die or will you obey me?"
