Chapter 2 - Deserted Elementalist Guild

When Dye Red woke up once more, it was already sunset. It looked really beautiful, especially when the Beginner's Village's location was somewhere in the mountains. The Beginner's Village was rather crude. The backstory of the player's home village was an almost isolated village deep in the mountains, with only main classes' guilds built inside the village. There were supposed to be advancement classes, according to what the player's weapon of choice was. Though this matter was for the future.

"Dye! Where were you all this time!" A really short middle aged lady ran up to her. This NPC's name was Mrs. Lin, and she was all Elementalists' caretaker.

"Mrs. Lin, is something wrong?" Dye looked at the flushed lady in front of her. Mrs. Lin was a little fat, and worked as an administrator in the Elementalist guild. Dye didn't understand why Mrs. Lin would suddenly came out of her post and ran up to her.

"The Elementalist guild is empty, and you're the only Elementalist left in the village. Tell me if this is not 'something wrong'...," Mrs. Lin looked at Dye worriedly. This information surprised Dye. If this world went by how she designed her game, shouldn't there be Elemental Mage David and Friend of Nature Ugaria?

"Where are Sir David and Sir Ugaria?" Dye asked, a little confused at what was happening right now.

"I came up to you because I thought you would know, turns out you don't either," Mrs. Lin sighed, "anyways, the guild is deserted now. I think you should get your things from the guild and change to another job. At the least you won't be a rogue Elementalist."

"I'll consider it Mrs. Lin," Dye nodded, "but for now, I need to check the situation."

Dye noticed that a notification appeared right after their small conversation.

[Quest : Investigate the Deserted Elementalist Guild.]

[The Elementalist guild, which you are a part of, was deserted by the two high ranking Elementalists. Please investigate why, and look for important items along the way, they might be really helpful. Sometimes the most isignificant things can be significant.]

[Reward : 50 Exp.]

"Follow me Dye," Mrs. Lin started running again.

The Elementalist guild wasn't so far from where Dye had appeared in this world, as that was how she designed the game to be. Though this Elementalist guild was certainly different than what she had designed.

All the guilds were designed to be a two floored house with their own respective colours. Warriors as Red, Gunners as Orange, Healers as Yellow, Elementalists as Green, Knights as Blue, Creepers as Indigo, Magicians as Purple, and Occultists as Black. However, this small hut with a green door was certainly out of her expectations. She even discovered that the green door was actually a wooden door covered in moss.

'It was certainly at the village's border alright...,' Dye thought, 'but why is it so deserted?'

"Please come in," Mrs. Lin opened the door, revealing the interior of the Elementalist guild to her. The mission board was empty, indicating that no one wanted the help of Elementalists...or probably even held much hope for them. There were only a single table and a pair of chairs in the reception area. The two high ranking Elementalists' private rooms were also completely empty. It was as if no one was there in the first place.

'It can't be,' Dye was a little bewildered, 'the Elementalist guild can't be deserted. David and Ugaria was supposed to be here, I had designed it that way. '

"Can you please give me some time to think, Mrs. Lin?" Dye requested.

"This...alright," Mrs. Lin gave Dye one last look before leaving the room Dye was in.

It was Ugaria's room. As Friend of Nature, Ugaria was ranked the highest for the staff-based Elementalists. If something or someone threatened him, he wouldn't just run away, as not many in Hyouka could possibly threaten him. Except for that hidden BOSS...

Dye's eyes lit up.

She called the game interface and it appeared. There was a search panel on the profile screen. She directly looked for Beginner's Village's basic information, as she wasn't sure if the hidden BOSS' information was available.

[Beginner's Village]

[A village located deep in the mountains. It's almost isolated from the world, resulting in only 8 basic classes available. Although this village seemed unremarkable, it has survived two deadly attacks from a high rank monster. This monster might be lurking around Lychon Valley, waiting for a perfect time to attack and finish the village for good.]

After reading the basic information, two new quest logs appeared in front of her.

[Quest : Spring Cleaning (1).]

[Clean up Lychon valley of Loud Love Birds.]

[Quest can be done with a team.]

[Reward : 30 Exp.]

[Quest : Lurker.]

[Find information about the lurking high rank monster around the area.]

[Quest can be done with a team. System will not provide help.]

[Reward : 15 Exp.]

These quests were certainly not designed by her, so, she had to have transmigrated to another world.

'How troublesome...,' Dye wanted to cry, 'in the novels and games, the main characters will always get some powerful power up! This is certainly unfair!'

As she was thinking of that, she heard a thud from outside the window.
