Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Sacrifice

Martial arts has experienced a golden age that has not been seen since. There were many who stood at the peak and looked down on the world with contempt. Sects, clans and empires grew, despite their massive powers unity came first. Along with the dedication to push even further beyond the peak.

However, just like with everything else all good things must come to an end.

A calamity has fallen on the universe like no other. A collision of another universe as happened. As well as another race appeared. Demons, with them they brought along all things dark and evil. Completely caught off guard humanity was completely pushed back again and again. Until they were driven into a corner. The time where they would drink tea, discuss the dao, and meditate in peace seemed nothing more than distant memories.

Hope seemed bleak. Even as we rallied and tried to stem the tide. Failure was all the success we have known. Defeat was the only victory we have tasted. We now only smile when we think of the past never for the future.

Finally, during the battle that was suppose to be the end. Hope, finally revealed itself. After all danger and opportunity usually go hand in hand.

12 managed to breakthrough their limits and ascend to a new peak. Finally the tide had turned and victory was no longer a dream. We finally had the strength to regain all that we had lost and so we won the battle. The 12 deemed their new realm the Empyrean Saint. With their new power we pushed back victory after victory.

Finally we had our world back even if it was just a husk of its former glory. However it seemed the heavens were laughing at us. At the final battle we learned that what we had been fighting was only vanguard forces. The main force was sitting on the edge of the universe watching the struggle and laughing.

"Setting Yin we can't keep fighting this way. Are resources are drained, causalities are very heavy and there is just not enough of us left. We are on the breaking point. We may have broken through but there are to few of us. We can't be the only ones caring such a heavy burden anymore."

"Six Fingers I understand your optimism, please just shut up. Last thing we need is for you to describe the situation."

"Snort. Doubtless Spear don't forget that it was the group who appointed me as the voice of reason."

"You're just as crazy as Mystic Snake over there if you think we appointed you as anything." Said the rough voice of Doubtless Spear

"Enough." Said a beautiful woman. She looked around at the eleven others. Her silver eyes seem to contain a vast coldness. That when others looked into them they subconsciously shivered. This woman was known across the universe as Setting Yin Empyrean Saint. Despite her cold eyes they still couldn't help but admire the beauty of this woman who could easily cause nations to fall.

"Six fingers thank you for the update. I also agree that the situation is getting worse every moment." Setting Yin sighed darkly. " Can anyone think of a solution to either permanently fix this or buy us some much needed time."

"We can go boom." laughed Raging Yang.

The others looked at him with no amusement on their faces. "That is the final option. After all we must leave a home for our families. With the energy that just one of us would release on our self destruction would wipe out this universe." Said another Empyrean Saint by the Title of Myriad Earth.

With a smile still on his face. Raging Yang seemed completely unbothered by the rebukes from his peers. "The mood needs to be lightened here. So get the dick out your ass and use it to go fuck a few of the whores that are still left."

Myriad Earth face turned dark as massive amount of killing intent and qi flooded out. "This is not a time for your jokes. Our race hangs on by a thread. Even you should know the saying, "There is a time and place for everything". And now is not the time nor place for either of those."

"Sigh. Sometimes I wish both of you would just be happy with each other and shake hands." A small voice giggled. When the other two looked at the speaker they saw a girl who looked no more then the age of 12. As they continue to look at her. The smile on the young girls face grew bigger. She finally giggled. "Now that is better."

"I have a solution." Said a voice that sounded so ancient that it seemed to come from the very beginning of the universe. With that sentence everyone in the room looked at the speaker. This person was visibly the eldest one out of the 12. When one looked into his eyes they could see how tired he is. What they couldn't tell was whether it was due to the war or the time laws he cultivated.

"We all know that what they are using is a massive corridor formed between our 2 universes, correct? Well why don't we treat it just like any corridor and add doors with a lock. Permanently closing off both ways. As well as collapsing it so that way we deal with them army inside."

"Hmm, now that is a plan. Now the things to ask is how?" Setting Yin said as she looked curiously at the old man. There was even hints of admiration in her eyes.

"Since the army is probably the easiest solution to do will. I will say it first. In the words of Raging Yang we go boom inside the corridor why we cant destroy all of the army. The ensuing spatial storms should do the rest. After the sacrifices the others go onto the other side to create the other door and the rest on this side create it as well." said Sacred Time

"So you want us to die?" Said Mystic snake.

"Yes. Our paths in this life was decided the very second we broke through all those years ago." Sacred time sighed sadly. "I have long thought of the end before we had even reach this point. Not only will this buy us very much needed time for the future, but it will even severely weaken our enemy. Its killing two birds with one stone."

Raging Yang looked at the old man for a long time before saying sternly." So only those who go into the tunnel must die and I'm guessing those who set up the door on the other side it will be a one way trip for them as well?"

"Yes! This operation will be a one way trip for us all. Have you heard of the Array called the Thousand Tangram Lock. It uses the casters life force to permanently seal away the enemies. While the universe is to big to seal the path should be just right even with us being unable to recover to our full strength."

As if possible more sadness seemed to creep into Setting Yin's eyes as she looked at all of them. "I also wanted to live after this and hold my little boy some more but it looks like we are not that fortunate. I suggest we meet back here in a week. Within that time say your goodbyes, pass on your teachings, and most important of all tell the world on how you became Empyrean's. We must leave some form of hope."

They all stood up and began walking towards the door. Every step seemingly heavier then the last. When they finally reached and opened the door. They say all their generals and family waiting. A group of people separated themselves and walked toward the 12. Each of these people bore crowns on their heads and produced a aura of royalty. Despite this they still bowed toward the 12.

A Young man stepped forward. He looked at them and said. "We don't know what decision you have come up with but either way we respect it. Should we get out of this crisis, the other rulers and myself have decided that your families will be well compensated and be rewarded the highest titles in there respective territory."

They looked at the Young man and nodded their heads as if his words were to be expected never stopping there walk. " We will be back here in a week. Old Time make sure the formation and all other details are taken care of." Raging Yang looked at the group and smiled at them wile saying. "Its been one hell of a ride. I wish I could have fought with you all instead of these demons. But it was still fun while it lasted."

"Lets just go home." Setting Yin said as she looked at her family with a kindness in her eyes that you wouldn't believe possible if you had saw her earlier. Her eyes even seemed to turn softer when she looked at a young boy who was being held by a woman who looked exactly like her. "Come here little one." As she took the boy in her arms.

"Big sis, what is the plan?" The younger twin looked at her sister. Anxiousness written all over her face. " Why are we leaving shouldn't we be preparing for the upcoming battle?"

"hehehe. Its not like you little sis to worry. Don't worry everything will be taken care of, for now we should just rest and enjoy this brief moment of peace." Setting Yin smiled and looked at her family before waving her. Causing a spatial tear to form in front of them. "Like I said lets go home."
