Seventeen-year-old Akira Kageyama barely had time to process the blue screen flashing before his eyes as he stared at the massive, ornate door that had inexplicably appeared in the middle of Ueno Park. Moments earlier, he had been rushing to school, his mind preoccupied with upcoming exams, but the sudden earthquake and the mysterious pillar of light shooting up into the sky had drawn him here.

Around him, the park was eerily quiet, but in the distance, the world was far from peaceful. A store TV displayed a news report in its window, catching Akira’s eye as he passed by. The anchor’s voice was tense, describing the chaos gripping the planet: massive earthquakes in California, tsunamis swallowing entire coastlines, and hurricanes battering cities that had never seen a storm before. 

Akira’s gaze shifted back to the gate. He hesitated only briefly before pressing [Yes]. The door swung open, revealing a twisted landscape of shadow and mist. The oppressive atmosphere pressed down on him as he stepped forward, leaving the world he knew behind. The faint echo of Izanagi’s voice reverberated through his mind, a reminder of the god’s challenge and the deadly stakes.

But Akira was not alone. Across the world, countless others were being drawn into similar trials—each gate linked to a different mythological figure, each trial a test of their will, strength, and cunning. The world was unraveling, and these trials were humanity’s last hope for survival—or its final undoing.
