Combatants are pretty much regarded as just filler existences by both the heroes and the villains. Nothing more than just cannon fodder sent out en masse to tire out the heroes before the big fight with the villains. Their lives are very cheap and they are easily replaced. But Wylven was not resigned to such a fate. And his opportunity came in the form of a system..
