Chapter 1 - She is Back

"Hiss!"

"Huu…"

With a long, deep and painful breath, the girl in the cabin opened her eyes to the familiar ceiling of a hospital cabin. The pungent smell of hospital disinfect, slowly invaded her nostrils.

The room was silent apart from her heavy breathing and the beep beep sound you often hear in hospitals that indicates you're alive.

Ruan Ji slowly opened her eyes, squinting in an attempt to sharpen the blurred images before her. She glanced around and took in the deserted, blue and white colour schemed hospital bedroom.

How long have I been here?

She looked to her right, at the mirror set from before. She touched her face slowly, and the figure on the mirror also did the same. The feeling of her smooth skin before it was burned down, it was not fake, but real.

The girl shut her eyes, trying to take in her current situation slowly, calmly. Ruan Ji could remember very well what had exactly happened to her, down to the smallest details. The memory of all the disaster that happened to her, slowly started to come back, occupying her thoughts.

"Everything looks the same as before…" She mumbled under her breath in a daze, staring at the cold white marvel floor blankly, "I really returned… to my younger self from five years ago."

'Even if I returned to the start, why couldn't it be before the accident?'

Heaving a short sigh, Ruan Ji shook her head as she thought everything over once again.

In order to save her best friend, Ruan Ji pushed the girl away from getting hit by the car. But unexpectedly, she fell victim to it and became a cripple. She can still remember the cold air hitting her face as she plummeted towards the pitched road. After the car hit her, the driver wanted to escape the scene quickly.

But was caught and brought back to the jail for interrogation, and even got sentenced to jail. But so what? Her life was already ruined, beyond repair.

After the crash, she could remember vaguely as she saw some panicked, some crying out loud, while some remained still.

Crashed.

The pain jolted throughout her body. It didn't hurt as much as she fell unconscious. Even so, the moment she opened her eyes, the pained expression on her father's face told her that everything was over.

Ruan Ji was still alive. But this living became worse than hell.

Out of curiosity, as if remembering something, Ruan Ji touched her face, pressing the throbbing area on her right temple. The scar is the evidence of the accident, if she is not mistaken, then this scar took some time to heal. However…

The moment Ruan Ji tried to move her legs, a sharp pain invaded her nerve system, causing her to flinch in pain. There is no use in trying to get up. Her entire body felt heavy, as if her body weighed a hundred kilos, the pain in her legs were much severe than this.

Ruan Ji gave up in trying to get up as she hit her back on the bed again, staring up at the cold, white fluorescent ceiling.

'Since there is nothing to do anyway, let's lie down and think over everything again calmly.'

According to her memories, Ruan Ji lost use of both her legs, and turned into a cripple sitting in a wheelchair. And this accident was the start of all misfortunes that befell her later on.

Ruan Ji is the only lineal granddaughter of the influential Ruan family, thus she was the apple of the eye of their entire family. Being the Young Miss of such a distinguished household, there was nothing she ever lacked. From food and clothing to monopoly of affection, she had it all poured over her, blinding her to the point of believing that this blissful life was a granted.

It was at that time, like a raging storm after calm, a person walked into her life. She became increasingly curious, slowly falling into a deep abyss without her knowledge.

At that time, the naive Ruan Ji fell for a man who became her first love, became unruly, doing everything at his beck and call, just to win him over.

But what she didn't know was that she was slowly drowning deep down, falling into the trap prepared very carefully and meticulously, just for her. The once distinguished Ruan family fell into ruin in her own hands, but her family never blamed her for anything. Till the end, Ruan Ji believed that he would come to her rescue.

And he came, too. Though, not to help her.

"Ruan Ji, I love Su Li, and we can't be together if you live. Today, you must die!"

Although his claim was ridiculous, Ruan Ji couldn't stop him as it was already too late to defend herself.

The knife stabbed in her heart was already deep, blood flowed out in streams. Her eyes went blurry, but she was still able to see the mocking expression on that bitch clearly.

She died unjustly, but that pair of scumbag and bitch were still living happily ever after? How could she bear to see such an ending?

Thus, Ruan Ji crawled out back from the depths of hell, this time, she must survive and take revenge on those who hurt her tenfolds, and repay those who showed her kindness!

Ruan Ji closed her eyes as she rested, it's about time some people barged into the cabin.

Just as she predicted, the door opened with a creak sound, allowing a nurse in white uniform to enter.

"Uh…"

Ruan Ji groaned a little, sounding as if she just woke up.

"Oh, hello, Miss Ruan. I see you woke up already, how do you feel? Is there anything uncomfortable?" The nurse seemed polite and warm as she smiled and asked about Ruan Ji's condition.

"Mmm, I feel uncomfortable all over my body…" Ruan Ji didn't hide anything as she spoke up, but the nurse didn't seem surprised as she took some measurements.
