"But my dear little brother! You are the son of a farmer, you have not even heard the first letter of political science and you have taken weapons training from me for only one year. Then how will you do all this...?"
"When the king of Ayodhya can become a king despite being the son of a slave, why can't I?" Sattu said so proudly as if bravery was running through his arms.
Pressing his flabby arms, Vidhan said in a fake way, "This statement is true, but oh great man, behind every great story there is a lot of hard work and effort, and what effort have you made so far to make your dream come true?"
Sattu felt a little embarrassed. He said, "Just thinking about it has made me weak and anxious."
Vidhan looked at her huge belly and her shining, happy face. There was no trace of weakness or worry in either of these places.
"Here! Eat and get rid of your weakness," said Vidhan'sMother as she came out of the kitchen and served Food to both of them.
Sattu touched aunty's feet and pounced on the food. While eating, Sattu said with mysterious eyes squinting, "Rumours are spreading that Horus are going to return to Jambudweep."
"Who! Those demon races?"
"Yes! That's it. They say that when they attack, there is no place to hide or run away. They give only one chance to surrender. If you accept, you have to adopt their culture and if you don't, then the very next moment your head is separated from your body."
"I have been hearing since my birth that the demons are coming back. No one has seen them in the last three hundred years, they may not be alive till now... and what do you have to fear... you are going to become an emperor. Drive away those demons," Vidhan said patting his back.
Sattu smiled and looked sideways at his elder brother and did not say anything.
After both of them had their meal, his mother said to Sattu- "You have come at the right time, son; otherwise I was about to send Vidu (Vidhan) to call you with the bullock cart."
"I remembered, Badi Maa, that today you will go to the village fair to sell pots, so I have come with the bullock cart."
Vidhan looked at the sky, the sun had fully risen. He said to his mother- "Mother, I am going to the Monastery, today is an important day, it may take a night to return."
Then he pointed toward Ruby and said, "These days her behavior has changed. She has become lazy. She is not as unruly as before. She did not even show her horns when she saw Sattu. Her stomach is swelling. It seems she is pregnant."
Smiling, Mother caressed Ruby's belly and said nothing more. Sattu looked at his belly once, then at Shanti's, stealing glances from everyone. Vidhan opened the courtyard door and started walking towards Guru Kan's Monastery.
