It was supposed to be a casual dinner. A thank-you for Jack helping Olivia move some furniture. But when one glass of wine turned into three, and laughter turned into smoldering glances, things took a steamy turn.
Waking up in Olivia's bed the next morning, Jack realized two things:
He was now in completely uncharted territory.
He might never want to leave.
But Olivia was quick to lay down the rules. "This was fun, Jack. But I'm not looking for anything serious. I've done the whole marriage-and-divorce thing. I like my freedom."
Jack, the king of casual flings, should've been relieved. But instead, he felt an unfamiliar twist in his chest.
"Right. Totally. No big deal."
Only it was.
