Chapter 7: Blood and Betrayal

Jinwoo's grip on his pistol tightened.

Kyung-ho stood in the center of the warehouse, a gun pressed to his temple.

Choi Sang-hoon's men surrounded him, their weapons trained on Jinwoo. The floodlight overhead cast harsh shadows across the concrete floor, making everything feel colder, more ruthless.

Choi smiled. "Drop the gun, Kang Jinwoo."

Jinwoo didn't move. His pulse pounded in his ears. The numbers were against him—twelve armed men, plus Choi himself. If he lowered his weapon, they were both dead. If he fought, Kyung-ho would be the first to die.

A flicker of movement—Kyung-ho's fingers twitched.

A signal.

Jinwoo understood. He had a plan.

But was Kyung-ho truly with him? Or was this another one of his lies?

Jinwoo didn't have time to decide.

With one sharp breath, he moved.

His first shot took out the man holding Kyung-ho hostage, a precise bullet between the eyes.

Kyung-ho ducked instantly, grabbing the dead man's pistol before twisting, firing two shots into the nearest guards.

Jinwoo dived left, rolling behind a steel container as bullets tore through the air.

Chaos erupted.

Choi cursed. "Kill them both!"

Jinwoo sprang up, firing rapidly—three shots, three men down. His mind went blank. No hesitation. No mercy.

Kyung-ho fought beside him, his movements fluid, calculated.

A gunman lunged at Kyung-ho. He sidestepped, grabbed the man's wrist, and twisted—snap. The gun dropped, and Kyung-ho put a bullet in his skull.

Jinwoo spun—a knife flashed toward his throat.

He blocked, his forearm colliding with the attacker's wrist before driving his elbow into the man's jaw. A second strike—knife to the ribs.

The body hit the floor.

More guards were closing in. Too many.

Then—Kyung-ho shouted.

"Jinwoo! Move!"

Jinwoo barely reacted in time as a grenade rolled toward him.

He leaped back as the explosion ripped through the warehouse, sending fire and debris everywhere.

Smoke filled the air. Gunfire raged.

Through the chaos, Jinwoo locked eyes with Choi Sang-hoon.

The bastard was still standing, completely unfazed.

Choi grinned. "Not bad."

Then he raised his own gun—aiming straight at Kyung-ho.

Jinwoo's heart stopped.

The gun fired.

Blood sprayed.

And Kyung-ho fell.
