"Did you really think you could get me drunk? Alcohol has no effect on someone like me," I whispered to Konan, my voice full of defiance, my head resting on her bare chest in bed.
Only the sheets covered our naked, intertwined bodies.
"Well, my goal has been accomplished anyway; I have no regrets," she replied with a smoldering look and a playful smile.
She hadn't been affected by the alcohol like she thought she would either.
After the wedding, Konan and I returned to the Hyūga Compound, where the tension-laden atmosphere set off a series of events that led to us ending up tangled in the sheets.
I was glad I had put up all those defenses in the room. I didn't want anyone to hear our moans or see us through the wall with the Byakugan.
"I could get used to this..." I murmured, my head still resting on her breasts, which rose and fell rhythmically with each breath.
Konan gently stroked my soft hair, making me relax for the first time since I arrived over two years ago.
"I wish you would, Kaguya-sama" she said with a smile. Even Konan was surprised; she didn't show her true feelings very often, but tonight she didn't mind.
"Don't keep treating me so formally" I asked, looking into her eyes as I found myself in her arms.
Konan brought her lips to mine and kissed me, feeling like I wanted it just as much as she did.
It seemed to be true what they said about weddings, you always flirt at them. Or was it at funerals? Well, what does it matter?
...
A couple of days later, still in Konohagakure, Kaguya waited patiently for Konan at the market square. As she waited, her heart was beating with anticipation.
Konan was the first person who managed to make her feel this way.
She never thought she would have her own love story. She just hoped that the end of this story wouldn't end in tragedy, like most of them.
The two had agreed to meet at this place for their first date. Even though the two were still in the Hyūga Complex, Konan told her that they should split up and meet up at the time they had agreed upon, as if it were a real first date.
Was Konan having fun with this? Absolutely yes.
Konan, with her blue hair cropped, finally appeared in the crowd of people. Her eyes lit up slightly at the sight of her and they both smiled shyly at each other.
Neither of them was used to the feelings that had blossomed because of the other, so they looked at each other nervously before Konan made the first move.
Konan reached out her hand and showed her a paper rose created by her. Kaguya didn't hesitate to take it and smell it, as if it were a real rose. Surprisingly, the origami-created flower had been scented.
"It's beautiful, Konan." I said, admiring the fake rose, which ignoring its lack of color, was identical to a real one.
Konan smiled "Just the rose?" she asked jokingly. The two laughed after that.
The two decided to start their date, walking through the market, heading to the sweets stand. Along the way they shared laughs and tasted some local treats. Kaguya carefully chose a small box of chocolates and with a glance, the two nodded in agreement, determined to share them later.
The sparkles of joy in the two's eyes sealed the first memory of their first date.
Leaving the candy stand, they strolled through the narrow cobblestone streets of Konohagakure, stopping at a bookstore. Surprisingly, they both discovered something new about each other, their shared love of reading.
They spent quite a bit of time in the bookstore, choosing together the books they liked the most.
The afternoon continued with a visit to the park, many couples were enjoying themselves and having fun around them, so they didn't stand out too much. They strolled through the predetermined paths of the park, exploring it and chatting, getting to know each other better.
Although they had known each other for a long time, they had realized that they barely knew each other personally.
The sun began to descend on the horizon, and they decided to end their date at a small viewing point high above the village, between the Hokage Rocks. From there they enjoyed the panoramic view, the sky tinted with warm tones as the sun said goodbye. Konan took Kaguya's hand and sealed her lips with her own, taking advantage of the opportunity the moment had given her, sealing their bond.
"It's... getting late..." Kaguya muttered between the few moments Konan gave her to breathe, her lips still refusing to part. Her porcelain face turned red, embarrassed.
"Shall we continue?" Konan asked, pulling away and taking her hand, ready to continue with the date.
Nodding and letting herself be dragged, Kaguya followed her, allowing her to take her hand.
After having explored the village for the entire afternoon, Kaguya and Konan decided to culminate their date with a romantic dinner in a cozy tavern. Inside, candles flickered on the tables, and the aroma of herbs and spices filled the air as they settled into an intimate corner of the premises.
The two soaked in the warm atmosphere of the tavern.
The stone walls were adorned with vines that gently climbed towards the vaulted ceiling. Small lamps hung strategically, casting flickers of soft light onto the weathered wooden tables. The tavern was decorated with rustic touches.
The tables were arranged so that each couple could enjoy their own private corner, surrounded by red velvet curtains that added a touch of elegance and privacy.
The sound of laughter and live music from a small stage near the entrance contributed to the vibrant atmosphere of the place.
Taking the menu from the table, the two decided what they wanted between the two of them and waited for the waitress to approach them.
"Good evening. Are you ready to order?" the waitress approached them and asked.
Konan was the first to ask for her choice. She ordered a goat cheese and walnut salad for starters, and a salmon fillet for main course. Although she didn't know if she would be able to finish it all by herself.
She looked at me with complicity, asking me with her eyes to help her finish it if she couldn't.
"I'll choose the beef carpaccio as a starter, and then the seafood risotto."
"Perfect. Any drink preferences?" the waitress asked.
Konan ordered red wine and Kaguya ordered water.
Looking at Konan, Kaguya smiled mischievously. "Are you still trying to get me drunk? I think we both know you don't have to do that to…" and left the last words to her imagination. Konan smiled just as mischievously, hoping her words were true.
Only the end of the night would confirm this for her.
The conversation flowed naturally between them as they shared laughs and knowing glances. The food arrived almost fifteen minutes after they had ordered it, and they enjoyed every bite with delight. In the end, the two had to help each other with each other's food.
As dinner came to an end, the two left and walked through the dark and lonely streets of Konohagakure, heading towards the Hyūga Complex hand in hand.
The night ended for them as dawn rose...
