Chapter 7: The Road to Asgard
A Fateful Decision
The battle for Xandar had cemented Nitron's power, but he knew this was only the beginning. The Kree Empire had been humbled, yet the galaxy held greater treasures—treasures that could push him to heights beyond even the cosmic gods.
And few places held secrets and weapons as mighty as Asgard.
Standing atop a newly constructed Cybertronian citadel, Nitron gazed at the expanding skyline of his Cybertronian-controlled Xandar. Below him, the rebuilding efforts were already underway—Tarn, Soundwave, and Jetfire overseeing the transformation of Xandar into a Cybertronian stronghold.
But his true focus was on the Bifrost, the key to reaching Asgard's vaults.
"It's time," Nitron muttered.
At his command, his warriors activated the newly constructed Space Bridge—a shimmering portal of immense energy. But before he could step through, a voice called out.
> "You think you can just walk into Asgard and take what you want?"
Nitron turned. From the shadows of the citadel, a lone figure emerged—Star-Lord, weapons drawn, flanked by Gamora and Drax.
> "You've already taken over Xandar," Star-Lord continued, eyes narrowing. "Now you're going after Asgard? What exactly is your endgame here?"
Nitron's optics flickered. He respected the Guardians' strength and defiance, but their interference was annoying.
> "Survival," he answered. "I am preparing for the battles to come. You wouldn't understand."
> "Try me," Star-Lord shot back. "Because from where I'm standing, you're starting to sound like Ronan."
Nitron's gaze darkened.
> "Ronan was a fool who believed in conquest for the sake of conquest," he said. "I seek something greater."
Gamora stepped forward.
> "And what happens when your 'greater purpose' destroys everything in its path?"
For a moment, Nitron was silent.
Then, without another word, he stepped into the Space Bridge, vanishing in a flash of energy.
Arrival in Asgard
The transition through the Space Bridge was instantaneous.
One moment, Nitron was standing in his citadel—the next, he was in the golden halls of Asgard. The air was thick with divine energy, the scent of mead and burning torches filling his sensors.
But his arrival had not gone unnoticed.
> "Intruder!"
The shout rang through the halls as Asgardian warriors rushed forward, weapons drawn. At their head was Sif, her blade gleaming under the golden light.
> "State your purpose, machine, before we send you to Hel!"
Nitron smirked.
> "I have come for what lies beneath this city," he declared. "And I will take it by force if necessary."
Sif's eyes narrowed.
> "Then you shall not leave here alive."
The Battle of Asgard Begins
The first Asgardian warriors lunged, their enchanted weapons flashing through the air.
Nitron dodged, his thrusters flaring as he sidestepped a mighty hammer swing.
He retaliated with a blazing energy slash, sending three warriors crashing into the golden walls.
Sif attacked next, her blade cutting with deadly precision—but Nitron's Unicron-enhanced reflexes allowed him to parry each strike with ease.
But the Asgardians were relentless.
> "Bring him down!"
Dozens of warriors charged, hurling spears and energy blasts. Nitron activated his plasma shields, deflecting the attacks with ease, then countered with a shockwave blast, sending them sprawling.
> "You cannot stop me," he growled, his optics burning.
But then… the ground shook.
A deep, thundering voice echoed through the halls.
> "Then perhaps I shall."
Enter the God of Thunder
A bolt of lightning struck the ground before Nitron, the air crackling with raw divine power.
Through the smoke and golden light, a mighty figure stepped forward—Thor, the God of Thunder, Mjolnir spinning in his grasp.
> "You invade my home, machine," Thor rumbled, "and threaten my people. You will find no victory here."
Nitron sized him up, scanning his opponent.
Thor was powerful—one of the strongest warriors in the cosmos. This battle would not be easy.
But Nitron did not come here for an easy fight.
He smirked, gripping his Unicron-forged blade tighter.
> "Good," he said. "I was hoping you'd show up."
The Clash of Gods
With a roar, Thor hurled Mjolnir, the mighty hammer blazing with lightning.
Nitron dodged, but the hammer changed course mid-air, slamming into his chest with the force of a dying star.
The impact sent Nitron crashing through a golden pillar, the structure collapsing around him. But before Thor could press his advantage, Nitron emerged from the rubble, optics glowing.
> "You hit hard," Nitron admitted. "Let's see if you can take a hit."
Summoning the Power Stone's energy, he launched a devastating plasma blast.
Thor swung Mjolnir, deflecting the blast, but the sheer force sent him skidding backward, the ground beneath him shattering.
The two warriors charged at each other—
Machine versus God.
Cybertron versus Asgard.
And neither would hold back.
To be continued…
