As I walked out of the cafeteria, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. I had never felt so alive, so connected to the people around me.
As I turned the corner into the hallway, I collided with a familiar figure. Jake, the senior with the piercing blue eyes, was standing in front of me, a look of surprise on his face.
"Oh, sorry about that," I said, feeling my face heat up.
Jake smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "No worries, I'm fine," he said, holding out his hands to steady me.
As our hands touched, I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body. I pulled my hands back quickly, feeling a little flustered.
"Sorry again," I said, trying to play it cool.
Jake chuckled. "It's okay, really. I'm Jake, by the way."
"I'm Mia," I replied, feeling a little more at ease.
We stood there for a moment, looking at each other. I felt like I was drowning in his eyes, like I could see right through to his soul.
"Well, Mia, it was nice running into you," Jake said, smiling. "Literally."
I laughed, feeling a little more relaxed. "Yeah, same to you."
As we parted ways, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. I had never felt such a strong connection with someone before, and I couldn't wait to see Jake again.
Little did I know, our encounter was only the beginning of a whirlwind romance
