On Saturday night, Emily invited me to a party at her friend's house. I was hesitant at first, but Emily promised me it would be fun.
As we arrived at the party, I could feel the music pulsating through the air. The house was packed with people, and I felt a little overwhelmed.
Emily grabbed my hand and pulled me through the crowds, introducing me to her friends along the way. I tried to keep up, but it was hard to hear anything over the music.
Just as I was starting to feel like I was going to lose my voice from shouting over the music, I saw him. Jake. He was standing across the room, looking effortlessly cool in his black t-shirt and jeans.
Our eyes met, and I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body. Jake smiled, and I couldn't help but smile back.
Emily noticed my gaze and followed it to Jake. "Oh, Mia, I'm so glad you two are finally meeting up again!" she exclaimed, dragging me over to Jake.
As we approached, Jake's eyes never left mine. "Hey, Mia," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I'm glad I ran into you again."
I felt my heart skip a beat as he smiled at me. "Yeah, me too," I replied, trying to sound casual.
We chatted for a while, laughing and joking together. I felt like I had known Jake my whole life, not just for a few minutes.
As the night wore on, the music got louder and the crowds got thicker. But Jake and I just kept talking, lost in our own little world.
I didn't know it then, but that night was just the beginning of something special. Something that would change my life forever
