Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Boardroom Showdown

Vice President Wang immediately caught on and spoke up. "Lenovo is a household name in China. It's every factory's dream to become their supplier."

"Exactly. What's the issue?"

"We've been an OEM manufacturer for over a decade. If we land Lenovo's orders, who wouldn't jump at the opportunity?"

The room buzzed with discussion.

Jiang Zhiyu frowned slightly, puzzled by her younger brother's sudden interest in this topic.

Jiang Han's gaze sharpened as he addressed the room. "As far as I know, my father's connection to Lenovo was through a certain businessman from our province—a man named Li Zhou. Mr. Wu, does that name ring a bell?"

A flicker of shock passed over Wu Bin's face, so brief it was almost imperceptible. But Jiang Han caught it.

In his past life, after his parents' tragic deaths, Jiang Han had encountered both Wu Bin and Li Zhou in a bar. He had been too drunk to notice anything unusual at the time. But now, in hindsight, things weren't adding up.

Was his father truly reckless enough to take out a 100-million-yuan loan just to manufacture computers? Or had someone deliberately set him up?

What if Wu Bin had orchestrated the entire deal—introducing his father to Lenovo through Li Zhou, only to tamper with the production and ensure failure? If that were the case, then Wu Bin's ultimate goal might have been to seize control of Huaifeng all along.

Unfortunately, Jiang Han had only just been reborn. There wasn't enough time to gather solid evidence before this shareholder meeting.

Wu Bin's hand trembled slightly as he took a sip of water. His right eyelid twitched, but he quickly masked his unease with a smile. "Li Zhou? The name sounds familiar."

He chuckled, feigning indifference. "In our industry, it's normal to know people. But tell me, Xiaohan, what exactly are you implying?"

Jiang Han's voice remained steady. "Mr. Wu, I knew my father well. He wasn't the kind of man to recklessly take on a hundred-million-yuan loan for a risky venture. Wouldn't you agree?"

The room fell silent as Jiang Han locked eyes with Wu Bin.

Wu Bin frowned. "What are you suggesting?"

A shareholder scoffed. "Master Jiang, are you implying that President Jiang's decision to take the loan was influenced by President Wu?"

The atmosphere in the boardroom instantly tensed.

Murmurs spread among the shareholders.

Jiang Zhiyu clenched her fists, anxiety creeping in.

Jiang Han had no hard evidence. Right now, it was all just speculation.

Wu Bin remained composed, his lips curling into a smirk. "Young man, you can eat whatever you want, but you can't speak recklessly."

Vice President Wang Yuheng interjected, his tone serious. "Jiang Han, President Jiang's situation is indeed concerning, and we will investigate it. But our priority right now is overcoming this crisis."

"Yes," another shareholder chimed in. "President Wu is a major shareholder too. Why would he do something that would harm the company?"

"Seems like Young Master Jiang had a bit too much to drink before this meeting," someone sneered.

Laughter erupted.

"Maybe he did. Didn't he used to be a drunkard? I heard he even got some girl pregnant…"

The cruel remarks stung, and Jiang Zhiyu's temper flared. Her adoptive parents had just passed away, and they were still in mourning. Yet these men had the audacity to mock Jiang Han like this?

She was about to lash out when Jiang Han shook his head, silently telling her to hold back.

In his previous life, his sister had always been the one protecting him.

But in this life, he wouldn't let her bear that burden alone.

Jiang Han's expression darkened. His voice was as cold as ice.

"I know I may not be qualified to lead Huaifeng, but let me make one thing clear—no one should even dream of taking this company away from my sister."

His words cut through the noise like a blade, silencing the room.

Even the most skeptical shareholders were stunned.

Was this really the same Jiang Han who used to waste his days drinking and squandering his wealth?

Jiang Zhiyu was equally shocked.

At just twenty years old, Jiang Han was exuding an air of absolute authority.

"My father's death is something I will personally investigate," he continued. "And as Huaifeng's largest shareholder, I advise you all—don't even think about making a move on this company."

A flush of anger crept onto Wu Bin's face.

With narrowed eyes, he rose to his feet. "What are you implying, boy? That I'm after the company?"

His men exchanged glances, whispering among themselves.

"Hah, President Wu built Huaifeng alongside President Jiang. And now this spoiled brat dares challenge him?"

"Heh, he's just a naive kid with a sharp tongue."

"He should learn his place."

The atmosphere grew icy. Wu Bin crossed his arms, his expression arrogant.

"Young Master Jiang," he said coolly, "if you're going to throw accusations, you'd better have proof. Otherwise, you owe me an explanation."

All eyes turned to Jiang Han.

Jiang Zhiyu's heart pounded.

Jiang Han was still young—was he really prepared for this confrontation?

Wu Bin smirked, expecting silence.

But Jiang Han's next words sent a ripple of shock through the boardroom.

"Mr. Wu, shall we make a bet?"
