Chapter 14 - Chapter 397: Guarding the Core

"Hahaha! I didn't expect the usually reckless Thor to have this side to him, actually knowing how to use a verbal stall tactic to buy time, even if it didn't buy much!"

"He really seems to love that hammer of his. He can't stop talking about it!"

Otto, meanwhile, considered Tony Stark's idea of a heat seal, realizing it could actually work. He couldn't help but admire Tony Stark's genius, coming up with a solution in such a short time.

He had also been thinking for a long time about how to solve the problem of Sokovia flying in the sky, but he hadn't thought of this. He had to admire Tony Stark for being even more brilliant than he was!

Toby's Spider-Man touched his nose. He had also thought of this heat-sealing layer, but he was not sure if it would work, so he did not say it.

"Thor! I have a plan!" Tony was about to report the good news to Thor.

But Thor interrupted, "No time! They're heading straight for the core!!!"

Tony's expression changed slightly. "Rhodey! Get everyone on that lifeboat! Avengers! It's time to earn our pay!!!"

He then left the lifeboat to Rhodey and turned back, rushing towards the church. He joined Vision and Thor, forming a defensive line to block the Ultron sentries surging in from all directions.

Captain America knocked down an Ultron sentry that was preparing to fire its energy cannon from behind, then followed up with a powerful shield bash, destroying its head.

Wanda and Hawkeye also arrived at the church. Pietro flashed to Wanda's side and extended a hand. "You alright?"

"Yeah!" Wanda indicated that she was fine.

Tony fired two repulsor blasts, taking down another enemy, then called out to Natasha, "Romanoff! You and Banner better not be playing hide-and-seek!"

"Hold your horses, hotshot! Not all of us can fly!"

Natasha was driving a large truck, constantly running over Ultron sentries in her path as she headed towards the church.

Arriving at the church, she looked at the assembled Avengers. "What are you guys doing?"

Tony pointed to the device behind her. "Protecting the core! If Ultron touches the core, we're done!"

Just then, the Hulk also arrived outside the church. He landed from above, crushing a sentry, then punched another nearby, turning it into a pile of scrap metal.

Ultron descended slowly from the sky, observing the Avengers gathered inside the church.

Thor, seeing his companions assembled around him, felt a surge of confidence and roared at Ultron, "Is that the best you can do?"

Ultron didn't answer, simply gesturing with his hand. Hundreds of Ultron sentries gathered behind him. The sight stunned the assembled heroes.

Seeing this, Captain America muttered to Thor, a touch of exasperation in his voice. "You had to ask!"

Ultron spread his arms wide, his voice calm and menacing as he addressed Thor. "This is the best I can do! This is what I've been waiting for! All of you, against all of me! How are you going to stop me?"

Tony sighed, looking at Captain America beside him. "Well! As an old fossil once said! Together!"

The Hulk roared, and the Ultron sentries charged. Some attacked from the ground, some climbed the church walls, and others flew through the air.

The Avengers encircled the core, forming an inner defensive ring, constantly destroying the surging Ultron sentries. Pietro used his speed to its full advantage, weaving through the robot swarm, destroying any that got close to his teammates.

Wanda used her chaos magic to control several sentries in front of her, flinging them away.

Hawkeye and Natasha, one constantly drawing his bow and firing, the other unleashing a barrage of gunfire, worked in tandem. The Hulk stood in front of Natasha, absorbing the brunt of the attacks.

Tony unleashed the full power of his repulsors, firing wildly. He even used the laser beam he had once used against Ivan Vanko's Iron Legion.

But this time, the beam was thicker and more powerful, slicing through the Ultron sentries wherever it touched.

However, even with their combined efforts, the Ultron sentries were still closing in on the danger zone. Vision had to fly into the air to intercept the sentries rushing down from above.

Captain America was briefly grabbed by the throat by one of the sentries, creating a gap in the defensive line.

An Ultron sentry nearly reached the core, but Wanda, reacting quickly, blasted it away with her chaos magic. Pietro smashed another robot that was about to attack her.

Vision, in the air, grabbed one sentry and slammed it to the ground. Captain America broke free from his attacker, tearing its neck off with a powerful wrench.

But the enemy continued to pour in, relentlessly. Tony, no longer confining himself to the ground, began flying around the church, constantly providing support to his teammates.

The Avengers continued to unleash their powers. Captain America executed a 720-degree spin in mid-air, taking down an enemy.

Thor leaped, wielding Mjolnir and unleashing a burst of lightning, destroying several Ultron sentries.

The Hulk grabbed several Ultron sentries and flung them away, sending them crashing into others, scattering scrap metal wherever they landed.

Wanda used her magic to lift an Ultron sentry into the air, preparing to destroy it. Tony flew over and blasted it with a repulsor beam, surprising Wanda as he flew overhead.

Thor kicked an attacking Ultron sentry away, then wielded the head he had just ripped off another sentry, using it as a weapon to knock away approaching enemies.

Hawkeye, having run out of arrows, discarded his bow and engaged in hand-to-hand combat, landing a punch on an opponent's jaw.

Wanda became familiar with her power. She was not only be able to lift enemies, but also intercept one about to fire on Thor.

Ultron, seeing his steel legion unable to break through, decided to join the fray personally. He charged forward.

Vision immediately engaged him in close combat. Although Ultron initially had the upper hand, knocking Vision into a wall.

But when he rushed towards Vision, Vision used the Mind Stone on his forehead to fire a beam, blasting Ultron away.

Thor, turning around, saw Vision blasting Ultron. Seeing him pinned down by the beam, Thor immediately summoned lightning with Mjolnir, striking Ultron.

Tony also joined in, firing his repulsors. The three of them unleashed a combined attack on Ultron. Although Ultron blocked with his arms, his material still couldn't withstand the powerful energy, and gradually began to be damaged.
