Chapter 2: The Path to Power
Goro's life had settled into a strict, yet satisfying routine. Every morning, he would wake up, go to school, come home, and train with Jophiel, the angel who had chosen him. This cycle continued for weeks, yet Goro never grew tired of it. The training was tough, but it made him stronger, and deep down, he enjoyed every second of it.
One evening, after another intense session, Jophiel stood before him, arms crossed, a small smile forming on his face.
"Goro, I have good news," Jophiel said. "You've reached C-Rank."
Goro, drenched in sweat, blinked in confusion. "What? Already?"
"Yes. You are now a C-Rank celestial," Jophiel confirmed. "You can finally use the powers of Lunar and Solar."
Goro tilted his head. "Wait, what do you mean by that?"
Jophiel's expression remained calm as he explained. "It means you now have control over the gravity of the moon and the fire of the sun. But at your level, you can only use lunar gravity at its weakest form."
Goro's eyes widened. "So… gravity manipulation and fire control?"
"Exactly," Jophiel nodded. "But you must first learn to master them. Let's start with Lunar energy."
Awakening Lunar Power
Jophiel took a step forward, his divine presence radiating a strange warmth. "Close your eyes, Goro."
Goro obeyed, steadying his breath.
"Now, focus," Jophiel instructed. "Feel your heart beating, your blood flowing, your mind connecting to the energy within you."
Goro inhaled deeply, concentrating on every part of his body. And then… he felt it. A strange force surrounded him—like invisible waves of energy wrapping around his arms and legs.
Jophiel's voice echoed through the silence. "Boom. Your Lunar Aura is now active."
Goro's eyes snapped open, and a silver glow surrounded his body. He stared at his hands in awe. "This… is incredible."
Jophiel smirked. "Not bad. But activating it is one thing. Mastering it is another."
Lesson One: Lunar Punch
"Your first lesson is Lunar Punch," Jophiel said. "A single punch carrying the force of the moon's gravity."
Goro's jaw dropped. "That sounds insane! So, what do I punch?"
Jophiel raised a hand, and instantly, a perfect clone of Goro appeared in front of him.
"Hit this," Jophiel said.
Goro took a deep breath, clenched his fist, and swung with all his strength. His glowing fist collided with the clone's chest—
BOOM!
The clone was instantly obliterated, its body crushed beyond recognition. If it were a real person, their internal organs would have been completely destroyed.
Goro took a step back, eyes wide. "Holy… that's insane!"
Jophiel nodded approvingly. "Good. Now, you must train every aspect of it: Lunar Kick, Lunar Knee, and even Lunar Shield."
Mastering the Lunar Techniques
The training was relentless. Goro spent the entire night perfecting his moves.
Lunar Kick – A gravity-enhanced kick that could shatter solid rock.
Lunar Knee – A mid-air strike that sent shockwaves upon impact.
Lunar Shield – A barrier of Lunar Aura that could absorb attacks.
By the end of the day, Goro had grasped the basics. He panted, dropping to the ground, exhausted but proud of his progress.
Jophiel's Secret
Jophiel suddenly stepped forward and punched Goro directly in the stomach.
"Guh—!" Goro stumbled back, clutching his ribs. "What the hell was that for?!"
Jophiel smirked. "That was just a test. Your Lunar Shield isn't perfect yet."
Goro gritted his teeth. "Damn… just how strong are you?"
For the first time, Jophiel's expression turned serious. "We angels are not like you. We are not fighters. We are the servants of the gods, created only to guide and train the chosen ones."
Goro frowned. "Wait… so you don't actually have powers?"
Jophiel nodded. "No, we do not. We know all the techniques, but we cannot use them ourselves. Only higher-ranked angels may have some powers that even we don't understand."
Goro sat down, staring at the night sky. "That's… kinda crazy."
Jophiel chuckled. "Perhaps. But now, you're one step closer to becoming a true celestial warrior."
And so, Goro's journey had only just begun.
