Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The First Live Stream

**[STREAM STARTED]**

*"Yo, what's up, guys? Welcome to the first-ever episode of Demon Hunt Live! If you're watching this, you're in for a wild night, because we're about to prove that ghosts and demons are real. No clickbait. No edits. Just pure, raw exorcism action!"*

The camera wobbled slightly before stabilizing, revealing a young man in a black hoodie, the dim glow of his phone casting shadows across his sharp features. His name was **Shin Kiryuu**, a 19-year-old college dropout who had recently discovered that his family's so-called "traditional" business wasn't just about selling antique charms—it was about exorcising demons.

Tonight, he stood in front of an abandoned apartment complex, its windows shattered, the walls covered in layers of faded graffiti. The building had a reputation. Locals called it **"The Screaming Complex,"** a place where anyone who stayed past midnight would hear chilling whispers and, in some cases, disappear entirely.

Shin grinned at the camera, adjusting the angle. "Alright, we already got over 500 live viewers? Damn, I haven't even gone inside yet. Y'all really want to see me get possessed, huh?"

The chat exploded with messages.

**[KingOfSpooks]: This is fake as hell. Bet he's gonna run away the moment he hears a rat.**

**[MikoMagic]: Poor ghosts. Imagine getting exorcised by a wannabe influencer.**

**[UwU_Ghoul]: I'll donate ¥10,000 if you actually catch something on camera!**

Shin smirked at that last comment. "Bet. Let's get that bread."

With his camera mounted on a stabilizer, he pushed open the rusted entrance door.

The first thing he noticed was the **air.** Thick. Heavy. It clung to his skin like wet smoke, carrying the scent of mildew and something faintly metallic—blood? The hallway stretched before him, shrouded in darkness.

He turned the camera toward an old **elevator**, its doors rusted shut. Then, he panned to the **staircase** leading upward.

"Alright, chat. Do we risk the haunted elevator or take the creepy stairs?"

A quick poll flashed on-screen.

**[88% Voted: Take the Creepy Stairs]**

"Damn, y'all really tryna get me killed."

He took a deep breath and began his ascent. The wooden steps groaned under his weight. Each step sent tiny echoes through the still air. His chat scrolled rapidly, people spamming ghost emojis and daring him to keep going.

Then—**a sound.**

A faint whisper.

Shin froze. "Yo… did you guys hear that?"

**[MikoMagic]: Yup. Nope. I'm out.**

**[ShadowFreak]: Play that back, bro.**

**[UwU_Ghoul]: DON'T TURN AROUND.**

His pulse quickened. Exhaling slowly, he continued upward. "Okay, okay. Let's check the third floor—that's where people say the real hauntings happen."

As he reached the landing, his phone's light flickered. The screen **glitched.**

Then—something moved.

A shadow—**fast, unnatural.**

Shin's breath caught. The chat **exploded.**

**[KingOfSpooks]: WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!**

**[GhostFan99]: HOLY SHIT, REWIND!**

**[UwU_Ghoul]: OK, TAKE MY MONEY. I'M OUT.**

Shin forced a chuckle. "Okay… that wasn't the wind."

The moment he stepped onto the third floor, the **temperature plummeted.** His breath fogged, his fingers numbing as if he had stepped into a freezer. The walls here were different—covered in strange symbols, some resembling ancient Japanese kanji, others looking completely alien.

Then—his phone **rang.**

A blocked number.

His stomach twisted. "Uh… Chat? Should I pick up?"

The vote was instant.

**[93% Voted: Answer the Damn Phone]**

"Alright, alright. Here goes nothing."

He pressed **accept.**

A voice, **distorted, unnatural**, crackled through the speaker.

*"Why… did you come…?"*

Shin's heart slammed against his ribs. The chat was going berserk, but he barely saw it. His fingers tightened around the phone.

Then—the **lights shut off.**

Darkness swallowed everything. A whisper slithered through the hallway, too close, too real.

Something was **here.**

His night vision flickered back on. At the end of the hallway, a **figure stood.**

It had **no face.**

Just a **black void** where its eyes, nose, and mouth should have been. Its head twitched violently, its body bent at an unnatural angle.

Shin's breath hitched. His body screamed at him to **run.**

But then—his training kicked in.

His hand shot into his hoodie pocket, fingers wrapping around a **talisman**, its surface inscribed with an exorcism seal drawn by his grandfather.

"Alright, chat. Hope you're ready for the real deal."

The faceless entity **lurched forward.**

Shin took a deep breath and **threw the talisman.**

The moment it touched the creature, the air **exploded** with a high-pitched shriek. The entity **twisted and recoiled,** its form flickering like static on an old TV.

Shin wasn't done.

From his backpack, he pulled out a **small, blessed dagger**, its blade engraved with purification prayers. "Let's send this thing back where it came from."

He lunged forward. The dagger sliced through the air—**but hit nothing.**

The entity **vanished.**

Silence.

Then… a single notification popped up on the stream.

**[KingOfSpooks]: …Holy shit, that was REAL?!?**

The chat **exploded.**

**[UwU_Ghoul]: I'M DONATING ¥10,000. RIGHT NOW.**

**[MikoMagic]: BRO, YOU ALMOST DIED.**

**[DemonHunter_777]: YOU DIDN'T FINISH THE EXORCISM! IT'S STILL THERE!**

Shin's stomach twisted. He turned around—

—**just in time to see the creature reform behind him.**

The last thing the chat saw was Shin's camera **violently shaking,** his breath ragged as the screen **cut to black.**
