Accidental Sparks
Episode 1: The Fall
The room was filled with the sound of our usual bickering.
"Give me the remote, Mason!" I huffed, standing on my toes as he held it high above my reach, a smug grin on his face.
"Why should I?" he teased, tilting his head. "Maybe if you say 'please'—"
"Ugh, you're impossible!" I groaned, lunging forward in an attempt to snatch it from his grasp.
Jake sighed, rubbing his temples. "Guys, can we not? It's movie night, not a boxing match."
Milla plopped onto the couch, setting the snacks on the table. "Seriously, just pick a movie already."
But I was too focused on my mission. I took a bold step forward, reaching again, but my socked foot betrayed me. My balance wavered, and before I knew it—
Crash!
The air got knocked out of my lungs as I landed hard… right on top of Mason. The room fell into silence. My hands were planted firmly on his chest, his hands gripping my waist in shock. But that wasn't the worst part.
His lips—warm, soft, and very much real—were on mine.
My eyes shot wide open, only to meet Mason's equally stunned gaze. Neither of us moved. My heart pounded in my chest like a drum.
"Oh. My. God."
Milla's voice shattered the silence.
Cole let out a low whistle. "Well… that escalated quickly."
Jake blinked. "Uh—should we give you two a moment, or…?"
Reality slammed into me like a truck. With a gasp, I scrambled off Mason, my face burning.
"You—! That was—!" I sputtered, pointing at him as if it were his fault.
Mason sat up, touching his lips with wide eyes before his expression shifted. A smirk curled on his lips. "Lexie," he drawled, "if you wanted to kiss me, you could've just asked."
"Oh, shut up!"
And just like that, the room erupted into laughter, leaving me mortified beyond belief.
But what I didn't know was that one accidental kiss would change everything.
