"AAARGHH!!! STOP CHASING ME!!!"
Jiang Han screamed at the top of his lungs, but it didn't change reality—dozens of zombies were still relentlessly pursuing him. His breath came in ragged gasps, his legs burned like fire, but stopping wasn't an option. There was only one rule in this situation: run or die.
He leaped over the hood of a car parked in the middle of the street, nearly slipping on the blood pooled on its surface. The zombies kept coming, growling with hoarse, bone-chilling voices.
"Damn it! Damn it! Why me?!"
He kicked over a trash can, hoping to slow them down, but the undead didn't care. With hollow red eyes and blood-stained mouths, they crawled after him faster than he expected.
Without hesitation, he turned into a narrow alley, vaulting over a chest-high fence. The sharp metal scraped his back, making him wince in pain, but there was no time to complain. One of the zombies managed to grab the edge of his jacket—Jiang Han tore it off without a second thought and kept running.
The building ahead was his only hope. He grabbed onto a metal pipe running along the wall, climbing toward the second floor as fast as he could. His palms were slick with sweat, but he managed to reach a balcony and haul himself up.
The zombies below growled in frustration, trying to climb up but failing.
"I made it… Hahaha… I—"
CRASH!
The door behind him burst open, and two zombies lunged from inside the building
"OH, COME ON!!!"
Jiang Han bolted for the emergency stairs, taking the steps two at a time. Reaching the rooftop, he jumped across to the next building, almost slipping upon landing. His heart pounded wildly, his lungs burned.
But he had to keep moving.
Down the fire escape, onto a shipping container, then onto the ground. As his mind raced to find another escape route, his eyes locked onto a figure in the distance.
A woman.
Dressed in a bloodstained special forces uniform, she stood in the middle of the street, firing at the zombies with deadly speed and precision. Bullets struck their heads one by one, dropping them instantly. Jiang Han froze for a moment in awe.
"I'm saved!! I'm really saved!!"
Without thinking, he sprinted toward her.
"Hey! Cover me!!"
Jiang Han dove behind her, slipping into an empty trash can and pulling the lid halfway shut. The woman stopped shooting for a second and turned to look at him in disbelief.
"...Are you kidding me?"
BANG!
She resumed firing at the approaching zombies, letting out an annoyed sigh.
Curled up inside the trash can, Jiang Han covered his face with his hands, praying that she could wipe out all the undead.
But who was this woman? And why was she still fighting alone in this hell?
