Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Grouping

When Jiraiya returned home, he looked at the document in his hand and felt a headache coming on.

A Nine-Tails Jinchūriki and two of Konoha's top geniuses.

If something goes wrong...

Sigh.

Sarutobi-sensei really seems intent on squeezing me dry.

His eyes flicked over the photos of the three students.

The document, provided by Anbu, contained detailed records of their lives from childhood to the present.

Each one of them had deep Konoha roots.

The Nine-Tails Jinchūriki went without saying—every ninja village treated their Jinchūriki as strategic weapons.

Used properly, they could become an immense source of power. Mishandled, they could turn into devastating disasters.

For that reason, Kushina could never be allowed to fall into enemy hands.

Originally, Jiraiya had assumed she would be kept under strict surveillance in the village, never allowed to step foot on the battlefield.

But he didn't expect the Third Hokage to be this bold—actually allowing the Jinchūriki to train in combat.

Eventually, his gaze settled on a strange name—Hanyu Simu.

Anbu's evaluation of him was peculiar:

"Lacks motivation, incredibly lazy, has a foul mouth."

"Goes directly between school and the orphanage every day. Aside from completing assigned tasks, he refuses to train even a second longer. Always leaves immediately after school!"

If it weren't for his sudden display of overwhelming strength in the latest assessment, no one would have paid him any attention.

And his appearance was just as unusual—always wearing yellow sunglasses and a coat with the word "Justice" on the back.

An unremarkable, somewhat irritating kid...

Yet, he had crushed the competition in this assessment.

And he was personally hand-picked by the Third Hokage.

Sarutobi even instructed Jiraiya to pay special attention to Simu's unique fighting style—if possible, he should add it to Konoha's scrolls.

Jiraiya felt something off about this situation.

How could a seemingly talentless, lazy, and unmotivated boy suddenly unleash such terrifying power?

Could he really possess some kind of unparalleled talent in Taijutsu?

The Next Day – Ninja Academy

In the classroom, Simu's teacher, Sawada Ki, had a serious expression.

He was a strict instructor—once a Special Jōnin in his youth.

Unfortunately, he lost an arm during a mission, forcing him to step back from frontline combat. Now, he dedicated himself to training Konoha's next generation.

Perhaps because of his battlefield experience, he was particularly harsh on his students.

Even now, in this moment of parting, there was no smile on his face.

Many students often complained about Sawada's severity.

But Simu, being more mature than most, understood the reason behind it.

Sawada knew firsthand the cruelty of the battlefield. His strict teaching methods ensured that students would engrave their mistakes into their memories.

Because mistakes made in the classroom only led to scoldings—but mistakes on the battlefield led to death.

"From today onwards, you are all ninjas."

Sawada's voice was sharp and direct.

He placed a document on the desk.

"This is the class assignment list. It contains the names of your team members and Jōnin instructors. Check it after dismissal and report to your assigned instructor."

After delivering his instructions, Sawada Ki turned and left the classroom without looking back.

Just before stepping out, Simu—despite his half-awake state—thought he saw the teacher's lips move slightly.

If he wasn't mistaken, he muttered:

"Don't die too easily, kids."

Graduating students were placed into three-person squads, each led by a Jōnin instructor. The Jōnin's presence ensured their survival during their early missions.

Of course, teammates were just as important.

As soon as Sawada left, many students rushed forward, eager to check their assignments.

Simu, however, stayed in his seat, yawning.

This year's graduates had quite a few strong individuals.

The next generation of the famous Ino-Shika-Chō trio—Akimichi Chōza, Yamanaka Inoichi, and Nara Shikaku—were all in Simu's year.

There was also Hyuga Hizashi, the younger brother of the Hyuga Clan's future patriarch.

Even Uchiha Fugaku's younger brother was among them.

Not to mention Might Duy—the man who would one day become known as the "Eternal Genin."

Unfortunately for them, at this moment, their brilliance was completely overshadowed by Simu.

Especially Might Duy.

Ever since Simu demonstrated his terrifying combat ability yesterday, this green jumpsuit enthusiast had been sticking to him like glue.

"Simu-kun! I hope we get assigned to the same team! That way, we can burn with the flames of youth together!"

Duy, dressed in his signature tight green bodysuit, shouted excitedly beside Simu.

Simu leaned against the desk, resting his head on one hand.

With a serious expression, he replied:

"I'll teach you the [Finger Pistol] technique if you shut up."

Duy's eyes widened in shock.

"Really, Simu-kun?!"

Simu glanced at him and sighed.

"Yeah, really."

Duy's eyes filled with gratitude, his enthusiasm practically radiating from his body.

"Thank you, Simu-kun!"
