Chapter 2 - 1. Desperate Student.

Quincy Reigns, was one of the most popular known student at Highland High everyone knew him as the kid who was going to do anything not to be at the bottom of the food chain anymore, being bullied was something occasional to him and as much as he'd wish so hard that all of this would stop. Someday, he knew he was just day dreaming.

The term 'Desperate Student' followed him everywhere he went, why was he even called that word? Well, it's simple and not rocket science.

Quincy was called that word because of his desperation to become popular, ever since he was young it didn't matter which school he was... Quincy always tried to be cool and be liked by others but each and every single time he'd fail like nobody's business.

It was really shameful if not even pathetic, his life wasn't all sweets and treats it was hell. The honest truth was Quincy was one of the smartest people in school if not the world he was the only kid in school who'd obtain straight A's in all of his subject, but just like an other straight A student... He lacked in one thing.

Physical strength, he may have been strong mentally and academically but being strong physically that was a story for another time, in his case for another life.

Quincy was so scrawny, and short for a sixteen year old, the way his body was so built he couldn't even pass for a sixteen year old he had little bone and body mass. When he was being picked on or bullied, the bullies didn't even feel threatened that maybe an adult like a teacher would intervene.

He could get bullied in front of the principal's office and instead of stepping out and coming to his rescue, the school principal would rather close his door and pretend like nothing happened. And then after he'd receive some empowering speech from the same principle who ignored him.

"You know Reigns, what usually happens to you is part of life and this is just how things are done in this world, especially when it comes to guys like you. Those who do this to you, are doing it because they are afraid and jealous of you: of your intelligence and bright future. So whenever they see you they just feel threatened."

That was his power lifting spirit speech that he was often given whenever he got hurt and needed medical attention.

Things weren't at least that bad for him, at least he had something that not most kids in his situation had, and that was his best friend Drake McCoy.

Drake McCoy, just from hearing from his name was that obvious that he was cool and if not charmingly handsome, he wasn't that smart like Quincy but when it came to looks and respect, Drake had Quincy defeated by a perfect knockout.

He was tall and had blond hair, unlike his best friend who had black hair... Drake was loved by everyone around him, from his friends and peers in school and outside of school; from the girls who were dying to have a chance and go out with him and teachers who preferred that instead of Quincy being the one who always represents the school, they wished it was Drake instead.

Sometimes and that's just an understatement the school would actually make Quincy take Drake's exams and do his school related stuff so it could seem that he was going head to head with him, but it wasn't like that.

In most cases the school would make Quincy fail a test on purpose because they would tell and convince him that his score is already higher than normal, so he should let other kids like Drake have a chance too.

As much as that hurt him and made him feel unseen, unappreciated, and unloved Quincy, being a good person he was he'd understand and bare all that shame. After, all he did understand why they were asking him and making him do this.

His best friend and not if his only friend was the school top football player, and team captain and because of him the school has won more state championships, that they have run out of space to put it.

Quincy saw Drake standing with Jade North, the girl he always had a crush on since kindergarten but never had the courage to go to her, which was understandable judging by the difference in classes that they were in.

Quincy being the weak and nerdy type guy, while Jade was the more of the beautiful prom queen type girl who was loved by all boys around the school.

Quincy being himself and not wanting to embarrass himself, always trying to convince himself that today is the day.

"Okay, Quincy today is the do or die day, go up to her and lay it out there."

Quincy trying to trick himself into thinking that he can do it, fixing himself and checking for his breath smell.

Everyone who saw him either laughed or took a photo, video of him because everyone in school knew how head over he was for Jade, even Jade herself knew.

Because of that, students would play a mean prank on him and put on a show by placing a letter and pretend that it was written by Jade, just to see his reaction.

Quincy took the courage and approached Drake and Jade who was just leaving by the way.

Jade and Quincy locked eyes and then she winked and waved at him.

That was something that never happened before, Jade never looked at Quincy's direction before today. To him he also assumed that Jade doesn't even know that he existed.

Drake claps and congratulates Quincy.

"My man! So I see you and Jade locking eyes and waving each other."

Quincy brushed off Drake's congratulation, "What were you guys talking about?"

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Drake teases.

Quincy had this look in his eyes whenever he wanted someone to confess something he'd just stare and make that person feel uncomfortable, then confess.

It didn't quite work as much as he'd hope that it does since his prescription glasses made his eyes look so big, like he was peeping through a scope.

Drake tries to avoid looking at Quincy, who was dead on locked on him, "Fine! Okay stop it." Drake finally breaks.

"As you know that Jade's new friends Holland and Evelyn are actually new to this place, she was just asking if is there any place that she could take them to see the town."

"Then what did you say?" Quincy looking a bit red-ish.

"Well, I said I knew of one." Quincy's face turned into a frown after Drake said that.

Looking at Quincy and seeing that he is actually sad and hurt by this whole thing.

"But! I told her that since the state championship finals are drawing near, the coach would bite my head off if I were to miss practice, and so I referred her to you."

Drake continued.

Quincy's eyes lit up, Nah actually they sparkled with more fire and life than the fireworks on fourth of July.

"Are you not toying with my feelings?" Quincy couldn't believe it.

"Nah, I wouldn't do that to you." Drake smiled.

This was probably the best news that Quincy had ever heard in his sixteen years of being alive and kicking.

So he couldn't wait any longer, "So when are they planning to go and see the town?"

Drake's thinks really hard and deep, "Uh, let's see. Oh she asked if Friday night might be okay, since it won't be school night. Because her parents are strict and all that."

It's possible that Quincy wasn't listening to what else that Drake was telling him, already he was so overly excited that he was going to go out with Jade, Jade out of all people.

In his head there was a potential he was now planning the night on how he wish it could go and maybe later, when she's grateful for the fun they had maybe she might give him a little kiss.

Drake realised that maybe he was talking to himself, "Uh, Q can you hear me?"

Quincy was busy smiling on his own now, lost who knows where he was smiling like an idiot, Drake shakes him back to reality.

"What did you say?" Quincy returns.

"I was saying--" Drake wanted to continue but Quincy quickly cut him.

"You know I have to do a lot of preparation to do." Quincy trying to find an excuse to leave.

And he just ran out of there like his life depended on it.

Leaving behind Drake, who was now talking to himself, "But Friday, isn't for another 2 days."

Quincy was already nowhere to be seen and found, he just disappeared without even a trace.

The day continued and the classes continued by Quincy was nowhere to be found in any of them.
