Isabelle's POV
"So what's the plan, dude?" Natty asked, raising her perfectly done eyebrows.
"I'm planning to get laid. " I winked, admiring myself in the mirror.
Blue body tight dress sexily hugging my curves. Straightened jet-black hair cascaded down my shoulders. Deep neckline and perfectly toned and smooth legs. Nude lipstick and eyebrow piercing. Tattooed right arm.
Damn! I look like a sex goddess.
"Says the girl who's still a virgin at the age of twenty-four." She rolled her eyes.
Turning my attention back to her, I smiled innocently. "I need a freaking boyfriend to break my hymen. It ain't gonna happen on it's own, you know"
"And you're still not dating because?" She asked, her eyes shining in curiosity.
I bite my lower lip at her question and felt my heart falling deep into the pits of my stomach. There's something that I haven't told you Natty even though you're my best friend. Maybe some scars are never meant to be shared.
I pressed my eyes shut and for a second, all those haunting memories flashed in the back of my head. A sharp pain twitched in my chest and I couldn't help but laugh at the irony of my life. I've always heard people calling me beautiful. I've got shit load of boys falling for me in my school and college and even though I'm flattered about it, I couldn't feel happy about it. I couldn't even date a single guy. Love is not meant for me. I'm not capable of loving someone.
The whole concept of being in love and then spending forever with that person seems scary to me.
After all, love is nothing but a state of being oblivion until it starts to turn into something twisted and dangerous.
"You okay, babe?" Natty's voice dragged me back to reality and all I did was give her a forced smile.
"Come on, hurry. Now we don't want to be late, do we?" She asked, trying to lighten up the mood.
I nodded. "Tonight, I'm going to dance like there's no tomorrow."
"Yes. Let's get drunk and fuck the world." She screamed at the top of her lungs.
I chuckled and slipped into my heels.
Once we stepped out of the house, I settled inside my car after Natty grabbed a passenger seat. Of course, this bitch hates driving.
Passing her middle finger, I turned on the engine after switching off all my thoughts, I drove the car to one of my favourite clubs.
"Two shots, please." Natty asked the bartender as soon as we entered the club through my VIP pass.
"Ah, my favourite ladies are here." Darren smiled warmly at us.
He used to be my college senior and through thick and thin, he's been there with me. After Natty, Darren is the only friend on whom I can count.
"Don't you fucking dare to puke on my shirt again! I'm warning you, your alcohol tolerance is already worst. Don't drink Isabelle." He said with a poker face once he saw the bartender serving our drinks.
I rolled my eyes and gulped the alcohol down my throat in one go. Once the burning sensation in my throat settled down, I asked for another shot.
"Don't stop until I'm wasted." I told the bartender and after ignoring the warning of Darren. I continued drinking the alcohol. I don't know how long I gulped the shots one after another.
"I'm going on the dance floor, babe." Natty announced, once she was slightly drunk.
I nodded. "Go ahead. Shake your booty, girl. On the dance floor like you're a fucking goddess."
She passed me a huge smile and after giving me a slight hug. She blended into the crowd.
Until now my head was already light and dizzy. My thoughts were getting messed up and I knew that I was completely wasted.
Fuck, Yes!
That's all I want. To not remember anything and still feel content.
"This shit is crazy, man! I mean alcohol should be made a legal medicine to cure pain and heartache. " I blabbered, resting my head on Darren's shoulder.
"Heartache and you? Dude, you're the daughter of a politician. Your life is full of riches and luxury. Money is already the solution to everything." He laughed, patting my head.
I pouted. "I hate my dad, you know right?"
"Who cares, Isabelle? I would've never hated him if he was my father. I mean that man will most probably become a chief minister of our home state." He added, making it sound so exciting.
I clicked my tongue and let out a humourless laugh. You've no idea, Darren. That man may be a successful politician but his reality is fucked up.
"Stay here. Let me check on Natty. She might seducing some random guy. I should save him from her." He said.
"Yes, you should." I whispered.
I blinked at his fading figure in the crowd and for a moment thought of following him and dancing with Natty but when a sharp headache hit me, I clutched my head and decided to go out for a minute.
I need some air.
Stumbling on my legs, I managed to walk out.
My vision was getting blurry and everything around me seemed high on drugs even though it was me who was drunk.
I looked around as the vehicles passed by on the street. The high speed with which one car rushed in front of me gave me an instant adrenaline boost. Damn, I wanted to drive my car too.
I smiled and quickly went to the place where my car was parked. I made myself comfortable inside the car and started driving.
Rolling down my window, I let the fresh breeze touch my face and I quickly turned on the radio. Some fast-beat song blasted through it and I couldn't help but speed up the car in fun.
Although my head was spinning and vision was getting slightly blurred. I loved the carefree feeling that the fast speed of my car was giving me.
I was happily driving when I heard my cellphone buzzing with Darren's caller ID.
I smiled and quickly answered his call.
"Where the fuck are you, Isabelle?"
"Driving to somewhere I don't know." I laughed.
"Fuck, you're drunk. For God's sake, pull over the car!" He screamed from the other side of the phone.
"Don't worry. I'll be okay. I'll text you once I reach home. Bye!" I said to him.
Rubbing my eyes a little, I slowed down the speed of the car and was about to hang up the phone before I felt a sharp headache hit me again and for a moment, everything turned black in front of me. The headache was so strong that I didn't even know where my car was headed until I felt my car hitting something or someone....?
Wait. What?
My mouth fell open in shock and I quickly pressed the brake and get out of the car.
Pushing saliva down my throat in anticipation, I looked behind my car and that's when my body froze in fear.
A girl was lying on the road. I looked around and found the road empty. With reluctant steps, I walked closer to her.
I-I hit her with my car, didn't I?
Blood was flowing on the road from her head. My nerves burst with shock and disbelief.
W-what I've done?
My mind went blank and I stood frozen at my place, not knowing what to do. The blood was continuously coming out of her head.
My head started thumping louder as if it was going to burst any second.
Ambulance. Yes, I should call the ambulance.
I quickly rushed back to my car and took out my phone. With shaky fingers, I typed the emergency button to call the ambulance but before that could happen, Darren called me again.
"Darren, I-I..I think I h-hit someone with my c-car." I cried with my heart aching in fear.
"WHAT? What are you saying, Isabelle? Are you okay?"
"Let me c-call the a-ambulance first. I..I..am s-sorry.." I whispered as strong nausea hit me and I ended up puking right there.
"First call you father, Isabelle. Don't worry. Everything will be okay. Please just call your father and let him know" He said.
I nodded and after wiping my tears, I quickly called the ambulance. And then after that, I called Dad to let him know.
My lungs started struggling for breath and I couldn't help but sit on the road to stop myself from passing out.
I impatiently waited for the ambulance in helplessness. My head spun even harder as time passes by and soon I sensed white dots appearing in front of my eyes as my body shivered in fear. I blinked several times to compose myself but all in vain. Darkness consumed me and I fell on the road.
