Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Cliff Dive & Cave Bound

After getting hit by that truck, Chen Feng found himself suddenly transmigrated to a strange new world. Total bummer, right? Like he didn't already have enough problems back on Earth.

But Chen Feng tried to make the best of it. He rolled into a little country village and settled down. At first he thought maybe he could make it big here as a cultivator. Unfortunately, no matter how hard he tried, Chen Feng just couldn't get his spiritual energy flowing. He had no talents at all!

Major sigh. Chen Feng was stuck as a normal dude with no special powers. So he figured, fine, he'd just make his living as a humble herb gatherer. It wasn't a glamorous life, but honest work was honest work.

Of course, that plan got derailed real quick when Chen Feng took a nasty fall off a cliff one day. We're talking jagged rocks, plunging ravine, the whole extreme cliff diving experience. Ouch! He passed out on the way down, sure it was gonna be game over.

But then Chen Feng woke up at the bottom of the cliff totally fine! Not a single scratch or broken bone, like his body was made of titanium. Dude realized he must be immortal or something now. Talk about luck!

So there he was, chilling at the bottom of a ravine, realizing he had infinite lives ahead of him. Chen Feng scratched his head, wondering what to do next...

So there Chen Feng was, trapped at the bottom of this crazy deep ravine. But get this - he had somehow landed in a huge, and I mean HUGE cave down there.

Chen Feng spent hours wandering around this massive cavern and found zip, nada, zilch in terms of exits. Just endless rock walls and tunnels branching off into more darkness. No ladders, stairs, or even a helpful "Emergency Exit" sign anywhere. It was like the world's biggest, emptiest basement.

He yelled out a few "Hellooooo!"s just for kicks. Nothing but echoes. This big cave was like something out of Indiana Jones, except without any shiny treasures or angry rolling boulders.

Chen Feng scratched his head, wondering how he'd get out of this underground abyss. He peered up at the teeny tiny cave opening way, way up the cliffside. That was one heck of a drop! He figured even his new immortal bod might go splat if he tried free climbing out.

Soooo yeah. This unexpected detour was harshing Chen Feng's triumphant "Ha! I'm immortal!" buzz big time. Trapped in a cave with no way out. Talk about a major party pooper.

With no obvious exits in sight, Chen Feng decided to pick a random tunnel and see where it led. He walked for ages through the twisting cavern passageways. Left turn here, right turn there, forking paths everywhere. Chen Feng felt like a lab rat in a giant stone maze.

He chuckled, imagining what his cultivator peers would think if they could see the great Chen Feng now. Once a talentless loser, now an immortal...who was thoroughly lost in a cave. How embarrassing!

Just as Chen Feng was starting to get bored of stumbling around in the dark, he turned a corner and was blinded by a dazzling light. Shielding his eyes, he stumbled ahead into a massive glittering cavern!

The cave walls here were lined with some kind of glowing crystals that lit up the humongous space like a disco ball. Chen Feng's eyes bugged out at the sight. Now this was more like it! A secret crystalline cave was way cooler than plain old rocks.

Grinning excitedly, Chen Feng rushed forward to inspect the glittering walls and see what other surprises this sparkling cavern might hold. Maybe this detour wouldn't be so bad after all!

hen Feng spent the next while ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the glimmering crystals embedded in the cavern walls. They came in every color - fiery reds, sunny yellows, ocean blues. It was like a rainbow had exploded in here.

He whistled appreciatively as he walked through the space, lightly dragging his hands along the shimmering crystal clusters. This had to be the most dazzling cave in existence!

"Hmm, I bet I could chip off some of these crystals and sell them for a good price on the surface," Chen Feng mused. His inner businessman was already scheming. He could set up a nice side hustle as a rare gem dealer to all those rich, hoity-toity cultivators up top.

As he plotted his future crystal enterprise, Chen Feng noticed a soft glow up ahead. He hurried toward its source - a small tunnel opening with a pale light shining out of it.

"Could this be...a way out?" Chen Feng wondered excitedly. He squeezed into the tight tunnel, shimmying ahead on his belly until abruptly the enclosed walls opened up.

Chen Feng shuffled ahead until the tunnel opened up into yet another massive cavern. But this one was far different than the last. Lush plant life grew everywhere he looked!

Fruit trees with dangling mangoes, oranges, and other sweet delicacies dotted the landscape. Bushes ripe with berries lined the cavern floors. Rare medicinal herbs sprouted up among the vegetation, their earthy aromas filling the air.

But the most astonishing part was the soft blue mist that permeated the space, swirling gently around the plants and trees. Chen Feng breathed deeply, detecting a crisp, clean scent.

"Could this be...spirit qi?" he wondered aloud. Chen Feng had heard cultivators speak of the mystical energy source, but he'd never seen it with his own eyes. Was this swirling blue vapor really the coveted spirit qi?!

Chen Feng slowly walked through the fruit garden cavern, marveling at the bounty surrounding him. This was no ordinary cave system he had stumbled upon! What other fantastical surprises lay buried down here?

He plucked a succulent mango off a branch and bit into it eagerly, savoring the sweet nectar. "Now this I could get used to," Chen Feng chuckled. For an immortal who couldn't cultivate, maybe staying underground wasn't so bad after all!

Having snacked his fill on the bountiful fruits, Chen Feng decided this spiritual plant cavern would make for a fine underground home. Sure beat sharing a leaky hut with 9 other villagers up top.

But an immortal needs his creature comforts. First order of business was gathering supplies to build a basic dwelling.

Chen Feng returned to the crystal cave and, with much grunting and cursing, pried free some of the glowy rocks. Using his shirt as an improvised sack, he hauled his glittery haul back to the garden cave.

"If I can shape these into some tools and basic weapons, that'd come in handy just in case," Chen Feng pondered. Though being immortal had perks, getting eaten by a wild beast down here would probably still hurt like crap.

Over many tedious hours, Chen Feng constructed a modest bed frame and a few crystals into makeshift knives and clubs. For a roof, he assembled a lattice from sturdy vines. Home sweet home?

Surveying his handiwork, Chen Feng nodded with satisfaction. Sure it was no cultivator palace, but he now had shelter, light, and even a food source. Being vegan wasn't ideal, but immortal beggars can't be choosers.
