Chapter 7 - A Classic Day

Early in the morning, Hana hurriedly got ready as usual. The weather was a bit chilly, so she grabbed a light cardigan and left the house. On her way, she texted with Gaeun, but when they arrived at school, they could only exchange a quick greeting. Gaeun had something else to do, and Hana quickly headed to her classroom.

When she arrived, Eunbi and Sera were already sitting at their desks, engrossed in an intense discussion. As Hana sat down next to them, Eunbi turned to her excitedly and said, "Hana, you won't believe this!"

Sera rolled her eyes. "It's not that big of a deal. Don't exaggerate."

Smiling, Hana placed her bag on her desk. "What happened this time?"

Eunbi wasted no time in explaining. "Before we came to class, I overheard an interesting conversation in front of the teachers' office! Apparently, a new student is going to join our class."

Hana raised an eyebrow. "Really? Who is it?"

Sera shrugged. "No idea yet. But I bet they'll be interesting."

Once classes began, everyone returned to their usual routines, but during breaks, the topic of conversation remained the mysterious new student. They struggled to find a seat in the cafeteria at lunchtime, but eventually, they settled at a table in the corner.

The lessons dragged on as usual, and everyone eagerly awaited the dismissal bell. That day, Hana and her friends decided to do something different. Instead of heading to their usual café, they chose to stop by a small park near the school for a change of pace.

As the crisp autumn breeze gently brushed their faces, they sat down on one of the benches. For a while, they quietly scrolled through their phones and chatted about trivial school matters. However, the voices of a couple sitting on the nearby bench grew increasingly louder, catching their attention.

"They're definitely breaking up," Eunbi whispered. "Look, he's avoiding eye contact."

"Are you sure? Maybe he's just nervous," Sera murmured.

Hana shook her head with a laugh. "You guys watch too many dramas. Maybe he's just tired?"

Just then, the girl's voice rang out clearly: "I don't even know what we're trying to do anymore!"

The group exchanged glances. The situation seemed more serious than they had initially thought. But not wanting to seem too nosy, they decided to change the subject.

"Today wasn't too bad, actually," Sera said, steering the conversation elsewhere. "But tomorrow, I'm definitely going to pass out in math class."

"Should we try sneaking coffee into the classroom?" Eunbi joked.

Laughter filled the air as the evening slowly darkened. The cool breeze made them shiver slightly, signaling that it was time to head home. After one last chat, they bid each other goodnight and went their separate ways.

When Hana arrived home, she lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling. Every day seemed the same, but small details and fleeting moments made life fun.
