When Hana entered the school in the morning, she immediately noticed an unusual commotion in the hallway. Groups of students were whispering among themselves, while others were anxiously staring at their phones. As she walked in, she spotted Eunbi and Sera. Judging by the tense expressions on their faces, she could tell that something was wrong.
"What's going on here?" she asked, placing her bag on her desk.
Eunbi sighed. "You haven't heard? Someone spread a huge rumor in the school group chat."
Sera jumped in immediately. "And it's really big. Apparently, someone with a boyfriend was caught with someone else."
Hana frowned. "Who is it about?"
Eunbi and Sera exchanged glances before Sera lowered her voice and whispered, "Minji."
Hana's eyes widened. Minji was one of the most popular girls in school, and everyone knew she had been in a long-term relationship. However, this rumor had thrown everything into chaos.
Just then, the classroom door burst open, and Minji stormed in. Her face was flushed red, clearly from anger. Right behind her was her best friend, Yura, who looked equally furious, her brows furrowed and eyes slightly red.
"Who spread this?!" Minji shouted, her gaze daring anyone to speak.
For a moment, the entire class fell silent, avoiding eye contact. No one wanted to get caught in the middle of this conflict, yet everyone was curious about who had started the rumor.
Hana held her breath. Minji's voice was shaking, but it was hard to tell whether it was from rage or disappointment.
"Tension is at an all-time high," Sera whispered, moving a little closer to Hana.
Just then, the teacher's voice echoed through the classroom, making everyone scramble back to their seats. "What's going on here?"
Minji took a deep breath, as if she was about to say something, but in the end, she just shook her head and sat down.
Hana, however, had a feeling that this was far from over.
