Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Jack's Little Trick

"Alright, no problem."

After taking a glance at the fully armed Hydra soldiers, Russell nonchalantly agreed.

He then deliberately gave Jack a provocative look of disdain.

Jack intended to use the pretext of training to torment Russell.

Meanwhile, Russell saw this as an opportunity to provoke Jack.

He couldn't kill Jack yet, and Jack didn't dare to kill him either, as he wouldn't be able to explain it to Hydra headquarters.

Although Russell couldn't kill Jack, provoking him on purpose wouldn't be too much of a problem.

'Since you plan to make things difficult for me, I certainly won't make things easy for you either.'

As Russell suspected, upon seeing his look of disdain similar to that of someone looking down on a weakling, Jack's expression turned extremely unpleasant. His right hand involuntarily grasped the pistol in his holster.

Ignoring Jack's angry face, Russell turned to the soldiers and spoke, "Let's start. The sooner we finish training, the sooner we can rest!"

Then he took the initiative to walk to the center of the training ground.

In this football field-sized training ground, there weren't many obstacles. Even the previously parked vehicles and planes had been moved away.

At the moment, the vast training ground only had a few boxes used to obstruct the view and some quick-drying walls with little defensive capability.

As Russell walked into the training ground, the soldiers began looking for suitable positions around the training area.

Although these Hydra soldiers were just the security force within the base, they were still qualified soldiers with excellent combat skills.

Russell casually observed their chosen positions and realized they had covered the entire training ground, eliminating any dead angles.

When Jack pulled out his pistol and fired a shot at Russell from a distance, the soldiers who were already prepared to attack also pulled the triggers of their weapons.

*Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat...!!!*

Deafening gunshots continuously rang out, making the training ground incredibly lively.

The moment Jack fired the first shot, Russell had already started running swiftly.

A moving target is harder to hit than a stationary one, which is common knowledge.

Hitting a moving target with excellent combat awareness is exceedingly difficult.

Especially when the target has superhuman speed, prediction becomes more of a luck-dominated random event.

With his extraordinary speed and reflexes, Russell could easily dodge bullets fired from various angles.

However, his stamina would rapidly deplete with such high-speed movements.

If he couldn't maintain this high-speed dodging, getting hit would become inevitable.

But for the time being, Russell didn't need to worry about this.

According to Russell's own estimation, he could maintain this high-speed running and agile maneuvering for about half an hour.

So, for the next half-hour, he didn't need to worry about it.

But Russell never expected that since Jack arranged such a training session for him, he had fully prepared and would not let him pass so easily.

Jack pulled out a small, silver remote the size of a cellphone and gently pressed a red button on it.

When Jack pulled out the remote, Russell had already sensed something was wrong.

Sure enough, after Jack pressed the button, the collar around Russell's neck suddenly emitted a powerful electric current.

The intense current exploded with a blinding flash like a flashbang, followed by thick electrical arcs coursing over Russell's body.

"Arrggghhhh!!!"

The sudden, powerful electric shock severely injured Russell, causing him to stagger and fall heavily to the ground, rolling forward like a soccer ball for more than ten meters.

Jack's move not only took Russell by complete surprise, but also caught the soldiers and the onlooking Allen and Heather off guard.

The soldiers never expected Jack to press the electric shock button at that moment, and the blinding electric light momentarily stunned them, making them forget to attack.

Allen and Heather were also surprised that Jack would use such a trick during training.

Watching Russell fall and roll on the ground, they suddenly felt a sense of shared doom.

Although they had been captured by Hydra for experiments, Allen and Heather still didn't fully understand what kind of organization Hydra was.

It was only at that moment they finally realized the true nature of the environment they were in.

Seeing Russell in pain and on the ground, Jack couldn't help but feel a surge of pleasure. However, the fact that the soldiers had stopped attacking ignited his anger.

Thus, Jack almost roared out the order to resume firing, "Shoot! I didn't call for a cease-fire, no one is allowed to stop! Otherwise, you know the consequences!"

The other Hydra soldiers, although unsure why Jack wanted to torment Russell, executed his order dutifully as soldiers.

Gunfire rang out again, and the training ground was once more filled with flying bullets.

Though Russell was exerting all his effort to stand up again, the aftereffects of the severe electric shock slowed his movements significantly.

In battle, even a moment's hesitation can be the difference between life and death.

Russell's slowed movements didn't lead to his immediate death, but two armor-piercing sniper bullets struck his body, penetrating his right arm and left leg.

As Russell had anticipated, the large-caliber anti-material sniper rifle, combined with specialized armor-piercing sniper bullets, was the only weapon in the base that could penetrate his skin and pose a genuine threat to his life.

Thanks to the substantial enhancement from the Abomination serum, his body didn't lose his right arm and left leg like an ordinary person would.

However, the tremendous impact of the armor-piercing sniper bullets still sent him flying, causing him to fall to the ground once again.

Although his strength and body were enhanced, his pain nerves remained normal, so Russell still felt the intense pain of being pierced by bullets.

Although Russell prided himself on his calmness, the current him couldn't help but feel intense anger, "You mother f*%#n son of a b*%#h!!!"

'To hell with calmness, to hell with the plan, I will kill that bastard now!'

'Anyone who blocks me will die!'

"Cease fire!"

Uncertain whether he was genuinely worried about killing Russell, Jack, who was standing outside the training ground, issued the ceasefire order.

At this moment, Russell lay motionless on the ground, with bright red blood slowly flowing from his right arm and left leg.

Due to the blood covering the wounds, Jack and the soldiers did not notice that Russell's injuries were healing rapidly, visible to the naked eye.

The 'Dionesium Factor' was working again!

I mean, reading the same thing for three paragraphs straight? Yeah... I'm not doing that.}
